Before you swap, check the motor mounts because they're VERY different from one size to the next. Within the same size, it's usually possible to swap, like most 50cc 4-strokes can be swapped from one make to another, and most 125-150cc engines can be swapped. But a 150cc can never fit into a 50cc frame without a total re-engineering. Check your options at www.scrappydogscooters.com/ (you can ask them questions) I got a complete generic engine from them about 6 months ago that fit exactly. Runs fine. Still I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you're comfortable with tools and have shop space.

The ad says "2 stroke" but you didn't say what your scoot is. It likely wouldn't work on a 2 stroke, in spite of what the ad says since 2 strokes require a tuned exhaust. Regardless, these mufflers need to be fitted by hand since the headpipe is different from one model to another. The other reader suggested using a 1" pipe and adjusting it to fit. I've never found one that fits right out of the box. Cutting & welding nearly always required.

Excuse me for replying here, but I just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth on photo hosting. I know that photos create some stress for you, but one problem for users is that after a few months the photos get deleted from wherever they're being hosted, and then the article is useless. From the reader's point of view, the website becomes empty. So it's much better when the forum is hosting the photos, too. In the scooter world, even old photos and old threads are still useful.

Nice paint job! It definitely looks like a TNG Milano. What's it registered as?

A toothed filter wrench only works on the variator. A strap wrench is required for the clutch. Any impact wrench will remove the nut if you're holding the unit with the right wrench. It's not a big nut, likely less than 40 ft-lbs.

This has happened to me on two separate occasions probably a month apart. I was wotting it down a flat street when all of a sudden I start losing power and when I came to a complete stop the engine just dies. When it quits suddenly at max throttle, it could be over-heating (not likely with a new 150cc). If it won't idle & stalls, it's an air leak on the INTAKE side (not the exhaust side). The problem is often cheap Chinese neoprene O-rings that go flat & leak air due to heat. There's 2 of them on the intake manifold. Replace with high-quality Viton O-rings from a motorcycle/scooter repair shop.

and ill solder a ground from the case to the frame You shouldn't need to solder anything. There's a green ground wire to the starter nut, and a black wire to the clip on the side of the starter. Sorry I can't upload a photo, but there's no upload tool on this site :-(

you might just try getting some nuts and snugging it down. Be very careful that you're using METRIC nuts. The hardware store may not have metric nuts, and using the wrong nuts will damage the studs. Home Depot, I believe, at least stocks some low-quality metric hardware, but check carefully! I always get a pocket-full of good quality metric hardware every time I visit an auto-wrecker. They often let me have it at no charge, or just a few dollars.

look on the top right it says CREATE THREAD click on that and do your thing. I can't see "CREATE THREAD". Can you post a screen-pic to show us where that is? I've looked all over but can't see anything like what you're describing. Also, I don't understand how to post a photo, in spite of how you described it. Usually a forum will have an item that says "Insert Image" or such, but I can't see anything like that. Thanks!

I tried the tinypic link but it immediately launched a stream of adware/malware offering prizes, etc. Without photos, this new ProBoard site is really hard to use. There must be more light-weight forum board systems available? This one is a real anti-user beast, especially if we have to link up with tinypic. Most systems now have integrated image uploads which are easy to use.

Yes, that's what I have, blocked off as you describe. Too bad I can't figure out how to attach images in this new system, then I wouldn't make so much work for you! A photo is worth 1000 words. How did you attach the photos?

Keep in mind that all the aftermarket exhausts have no EGR valve on the exhaust so many people will be with the issue of removing the emissions system (egr or pair systems) u are only the third person to say this versus 20 people have said the opposite as in: better power, less clutter, lighter weight, easier to work on the engine, less hoses failing etc... Cleaner engine bay was the plan, which worked out OK. But I didn't expect the power & speed to be cut in half. Attached is the valve cover showing the EGR tube which picks up the exhaust gas at the exhaust port and cools the gas before it's routed to the intake manifold. There's no connection to the exhaust pipe, only the exhaust port. PS: Sorry! This new ProBoards system is also defeating me! Can't see how to attach the photo.

When I removed my EGR system on a gy6 50cc, power & top speed was cut in half. Obviously the system affects the mixture, and I've been working my way through a range of jets without much success. It would be helpful to hear from anyone about how they sorted this out.

One downside of this new site is that it's very difficult to use. I have to request a new password every time I visit since it doesn't seem to recognize me. The security captcha is totally bizarre & requires watching a video. It's like trying to access the National Security Agency! Also I still haven't figured out how to create a new post, only how to reply to an existing post. But even when doing a "Reply" I can't see how to attache a photo, which uased to be easy to do on the old system. Some help notes would be useful since the ProBoards system thinks everyone's a computer/rocket scientist, but I'm just an ordinary scooter driver.

Ive had good service here but they dont stamp their jets with sizes. I love dealing with Scrappy, but this is a deal breaker. I've talked with Scrappy about their unmarked jets (Imagine a box full of jets & some of them are unmarked!) So now I get the big parts from Scrappy and the jets from PJ Motorsports.
