Long story short, the owner sold it but did not transfer ownership and no real admin had control over it so Proboards Closed the site and Doug and JR created this new one.
So welcome Zoom, glad you decided to join the new forum. You will find that just about all old SD members that participated on the old SD are here as well. Alleyoop

Zoom,
Yup! Most all the old dawgs are here, along with all the good stuff! There is a sister site (Scooter Rebels) with many of the same members. It was started first, but "ItIstheRide" came about, making welcome an even wider range of members, with more diverse interests... (Even though the majority of members here ARE scooter riders.) A number of members have motorcycles, ATV's and such, making THIS site very special!
Welcome aboard, and RIDE SAFE!

All poorly planned things eventually come to an end for one reason or other. The owner of the old forum poorly planned and deserted that forum causing a rift and new things sprang from the muck of confusion.
So here we are, happily, altogether.

One downside of this new site is that it's very difficult to use. I have to request a new password every time I visit since it doesn't seem to recognize me. The security captcha is totally bizarre & requires watching a video. It's like trying to access the National Security Agency! Also I still haven't figured out how to create a new post, only how to reply to an existing post. But even when doing a "Reply" I can't see how to attache a photo, which uased to be easy to do on the old system. Some help notes would be useful since the ProBoards system thinks everyone's a computer/rocket scientist, but I'm just an ordinary scooter driver.

To post it is the same as on the old place, you need a HOST to post a pic or a VIDEO. to create your own thread, go into the section you want to post and look on the top right it says CREATE THREAD click on that and do your thing.
To come on you need to REGISTER then wait there and PRBOARDS will EMAIL you the authorization code copy it come back on that page and paste the code and hit continue or whatever it says. Then it will remember your logon ID and your password. Alleyoop

I am a johhny come lately myself and had figured out the previous forum died of lack of upkeep. The DFWscooterist.com website is AWOL now for weeks but there was seldom if ever any new post on there. I have many friends who have full motorcycles but don't have any eyeball to eyeball scooter friends. I appreciate this website forum and the others I have found. 49CC.com I think it is and a couple of others. This one does rank among the best if not the outright best forum for a new scooter owner.

look on the top right it says CREATE THREAD click on that and do your thing. I can't see "CREATE THREAD". Can you post a screen-pic to show us where that is? I've looked all over but can't see anything like what you're describing. Also, I don't understand how to post a photo, in spite of how you described it. Usually a forum will have an item that says "Insert Image" or such, but I can't see anything like that. Thanks!

One can follow directions just like Alley gave and use the image link box in the menu bar . When clicked a pop up box appears to put your image link in and the photo will instantly appear. Same with the video box put your video link in it.
Or there is another way. I have enabled a auto embed link system with both the images and videos, just put the link to either and when you click on Create Post the image/video will appear with your post. Like this link that I broke up so it would not appear:
www.pictures13.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/group-flowers.jp
I took the g off the end but here is the image.
