When you jump the SOLENIOD does it spin your starter? If the starter spins is it turning the motor over? Also can you turn the motor over several times by hand either using the Variator or Flywheel? Alleyoop

Have you checked for spark? Did you time it right? Alleyoop

Can you turn the motor over with your hands? Grab the Variator and turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE and see if you can get it past the COMPRESSION STROKE. Turn it over several times past the COMPRESSION stroke. Also did this PRO mechanic adjust the VALVES? Is the Battery Charged up did you connect the SOLENOID corretly? Have you checked for SPARK? Alleyoop If you can take some pictures of the carb area and Solenoid that would help. You can use this to post pictures it is easy and free: 1. Click on this link: tinypic.com/index.php2. Click on Browse, that will link to your computer. 3. Find what you want to load. 3. Click on the name of the picture 4. Click on OPEN 5. Click on UPLOAD 6. Click on the LINK that starts with IMG. 7. How about the SPARK did you check for SPARK? Do you have a GROUND WIRE connected to the MOTOR and FRAME?
The no start using the Electric Start could be a WEAK battery and or BAD solenoid or a bad Starter. You can check the starter by using a car with jumper wires. Connect the POSITIVE to the Connector on the Starter then Just hold the NEG in your hand and touch the motor and see if it spins. Alleyoop

On that solenoid ONE RED WIRE is From the battery and the other RED WIRE from the SOLENOID should go to the starter. Also I notice you have only one VACUUM port on the Intake manifold and goes down. Is that attach to a PECTOCK or Fuel Pump where is your gas tank? Alleyoop

To check for SPARK take the plug out or if you have a spare spark plug just take the BOOT CAP off the plug on the motor and stick the spare in the BOOT CAP then hold the metal part of the Spark plug against the VALVE COVER and crank the motor over and see if it is sparking. You should have a GROUND WIRE usually connected to one of the VALVE cover bolts and then to the frame. That grounds the motor and if not grounded the spark plug will not fire. Then one ground wire from the NEG POST of the battery ALSO goes to the FRAME. Alleyoop How the SOLENOID should be connected: As for the PRO MECHANIC I hope he timed it like this and adjusted the valves :

EXCUSE me!! How in the did this PRO time it without the head..ESP?? You do not have to solder anything JUST get a piece of nice thick wire say 14 gauge and connect to one of the BOLTS on the valve cover then the other end to the frame, don't over think this BRO. I don't remember seeing females humping the bush back in 1966 in NAM Alleyoop

and ill solder a ground from the case to the frame You shouldn't need to solder anything. There's a green ground wire to the starter nut, and a black wire to the clip on the side of the starter. Sorry I can't upload a photo, but there's no upload tool on this site :-(

Not all starters have a ground most use the motor itself as a ground.
As for uploading pics I told you how and gave you the HOST link and i posted pics of the ICONS on the reply that you click on and paste the Video and or Picture in the Rules section where you asked for screen prints. Alleyoop
