It wouldn't surprise me if the little spring and resistor fell out of the boot after that piece unscrewed, leaving you with no spark even after you screwed it back in. They both are probably sitting on your floor somewhere. See if you can find them, and if you do, put the resistor in the boot first, then the spring, then screw the cap back on. The boot may not even be bad. At the very least, unscrew that little piece in the boot again and check if the spring and resistor are in there.

Did you take the one off the coil and take it to the auto parts store? If not take it back with your plug and tell them what the problem is so they can fix you up. I know what the problem is they may give you a piece to screw onto the plug. But take it back with your plug so they can get you the right thing. Alleyoop

Yeah I took the boot with me, no store in town has the exact boot. I got a replacement for a honda. How much would the screw on piece for the plug cost?

they may not sell them separate but a lot of spark plugs come with them so a couple of bucks if you have to buy the whole plug and take it off and screw it onto yours. Alleyoop

The hot wire going to my coil is bad I guess, because when I connected my coil to the ground wire and jumped the battery post to the side of the coil I got a spark, but when I plug the hot wire into the coil and kick it over, no spark... What should I do?
