My 50cc scooter has started leaking gear oil recently and it is getting to be a pain to he making a mess when parked and having to add more. How can I fix this and what do you think is causing it?
Thanks!

I have a 2 stroke 50cc roketa (Rhon) mc-15-50, and recently after 2 hours of riding it started cutting in and out, and today (the day after) it is continuing. What could be causing this? And how do I fix it?
Thanks in advance!!

After starting and waiting for the enriched to shut off I give my scooter a little more gas to take off. When I hit about 75-100% of throttle there is a sputtering/ odd buzzing sound which stays for a few seconds then stops. After that there is usually no more issue with the scooter and it runs well. I am just curious what could be causing the sound and shudder. -thanks!

I have been trying to think of different ways to improve the speed of my scooter and I keep thinking that it might be best to reduce the weight. The biggest thought I had was possibly building a new lighter frame but keep everything as strong as it is or stronger. If anyone has any thoughts on this idea or ideas on how to accomplish this I'd appreciate your input. Also any other ideas to reduce the weight would be very appreciated! Thanks!!

Just curious where everyone's opinions on Chinese made scooters falls ik it's very controversial in the world of scooters so if you could give your reasoning for your opinion that would be great as well!

I wear a 3/4 helmet made by hjc as I find the 3/4 style to be the best compromise of safety and comfort for me, when riding in cold weather I wear a ski mask under my helmet and tuck it into my jacket.

terrilee: do u mean a stronger crankshaft instead of cam? 2t's don't have cams or cam shafts because they are valveless (besides reeds) and use ports instead of valves

Ok I have looked at both bbk's and also at just dropping in a crate 90cc engine, does anyone have any opinions on which would be the best "bang for the buck"? I was also curious if there is any difference in putting an a/c bbk or a w/c bbk of the same bore?

I would love to do the 65+ screamer upgrades but because she's my only transportation except for the city bus I'd better keep it a little more in the tame side so a setup which increases performance but doesn't take too much maintence work would be perfect. If it makes any difference I also plan to do all the work by myself and with the assistance of a couple friends. Thanks for the quick replies, loving the forum!

Okay so I just wanted to share a couple of things that I wish I had thought of when I had first started riding a scooter in the past year: 1) don't assume that a vehicle sees you Story: earlier in the spring I had been riding for around a couple of months when I was traveling along a four lane 2 way street and saw a truck waiting for his gap in traffic to cross opposing traffic and join the same direction I was traveling. When I saw the truck get his chance and turn into the lane next to mine I assumed that he had already seen me and would wait to pass me to change lanes, however he kept merging over and was pushing me towards the curb at around 35-40 mph. I could not slow down as I was being tailgates and was already at the top end of my power, luckily the guy noticed me when he was close enough that I could have opened the passenger door if I had wanted to, the moral is dont assume other drivers see you. 2) be very careful with your following distances of things like buses Story: on my way to school one day I was riding my scooter and was following a school bus that was doing around 10mph under the speed limit, I was unconsciously creeping up on the back of the bus, but was not all that close. I decided to take another route that would be faster and slowed down while also starting my turn, the bus blocked my view of an oncoming car which I almost turned in front of (stupid me ik) the lesson is large vehicles can block your view of other vehicles and their view of you 3) Be careful when riding right after rain Story: I had just started my scooter to let it warm up when it was starting to rain, after warming up for 5 minutes I started in my trip to school and was heading down a hill that is frequented by local delivery trucks and other vehicles notorious for leaking oil onto streets. Around halfway down the hill I suddenly felt the whole scooter slide out from under me and leave me confused on my back (only a couple scratches on me and the bike), after getting up I noticed I had slid in some oil that was suspended on the fresh rain. Moral of my mistake is avoid riding around 30 minutes after it rains due to gunk on the street, and check the weather to see if it is supposed to rain soon All those experiences happened in the first 500 miles of my riding, and I haven't had any since (knock on wood) at 1150 miles, and all three taught me the importance of safety gear and careful riding. It would be great if others want to contribute their own stories/experiences/tips thanks for reading, be safe!

Hey guys, new member to the forum but I'd been doing lots of lurking on scootdawg before im looking to get more top speed and acceleration on a budget of hopefully no more than $600, and my question is what upgrades should I do first? My scooter is a bone stock Rocketa MCR-15-50 which I believe has the minarelli 1E40QMB 2t engine. I look forward to everyone's input, thanks!
