My 50cc scooter has started leaking gear oil recently and it is getting to be a pain to he making a mess when parked and having to add more. How can I fix this and what do you think is causing it?

check the vent hose if so equipped. It has a rubber line that goes from the bottom of the gearbox to the airbox. It may be off or cracked. also make sure the fill and level screws are tight. Last, make sure it's not overfilled. If all that checks out, you probably need a new seal or gasket.
