There are so many styles and brands of helmets on the market. What do you prefer? And if possible could you post a picture of your helmet and reason for that choice. Would help "Newbie" scooter riders like myself make the best decision on what to buy. Like they safe at my work place....."SAFETY FIRST" Thanks

buying a helmet is one of the thing i suggest you NOT do on line---UNLESS you know your exact size and the company has a good return policy. it is the one piece of equipment that you want to fit perfectly.
i went and tried on a few then found the exact model on line. it was a bit of a hunt
i have the modular full face type

Definitely wont be buying online but this will help by knowing what to look for and at times what to avoid. Investigate, compare then go out and try them all on THEN buy.

well leftthen the best thing is make sure they are DOT & Snell approved and then just buy what feels good on your noggin.
i wore one in a shop for 2 hours to see if it hurt after awhile of wearing. i know i looked stupid to other people, walking around fro 2 hours with a helmet on BUT i didnt want to buy one that felt great for only 10 mins, then started hurting the ol noggin
ya know?

I wear a GMax Platinum . I like the design and the fact that it has many vents and a tinted shield as well as clear . Was only 80 dollars Attachments:

I got the first Nolan modular (N100, I think?). I knew I wanted a mod for the convenience with my glasses. Got the Nolan 'cause that was the only brand of mod Van Wall (my scooter dealer) had. But I'd already been told by a friend and by a former teacher that Nolan's a good solid brand.
I do fog it up in winter. In fact, I fog it except on the warmest days. I'm just hot-breathed, I guess. But I've learned to crack it open at stops and have had zip problems since.
Only discomfort was a bit of a rub on the top of my forehead after about an hour riding. Fixed that by shaving off just a little of the styro, plus adding a do-rag (which sounds odd as that would create less space yet, but instead seems to add a little cushion)

As for other types, I'm with all my MSF coaches--nothing less than full face coverage for this 'Kat. I like my skin where God put it, not left behind on the pavement.
I've slid into the ditch once and slid out in a roundabout once. Both times my chin bar got scraped. Imagine what my chin itself would've looked like if I'd worn a 3/4s helmet instead. Ouch!

I have had a FF helmet save my face when I did The Superman across the pavement on my 550 GS . Its cheaper to buy a FF helmet than a new face or head

This exactly what I wanted to hear!!! Hearing the reasons behind your choices makes it a lot simpler to decide. Thank you....Now are dark helmets hotter in the summer time?
