" Motorcycles and ATVs are prohibited by the EPA from using fuels that contain more than 10 percent ethanol by volume." If you have a scooter with a carb (like many of us do) you shouldn't get your bike that drunk.. I'll see myself out.. thank you

larrball,
Sounds like lots of interrelated holding companies involved here. I'm not sure anymore if you can actually be sure just WHERE bikes and components are really made... LOL! Good point Leo, When i did my research before i bought my GS R50 it showed Taiwan and i did a quick search of the VIN number and all was ok. I think at one time a 3 years ago i remember Chicago Scooter Co. being a reseller of some sort of china bikes that just had a name put on them, you know "Buy a conex load of them ... have your brand name put on them" Or Buy 9 get one free <---- LOL [bad joke i know but kinda holds a bit of truth] My best guess is they made there own brand Hints "Genuine Scooter Co." and went with PGO/Motive power. and saved the sister Co for a less experience bike witch may be made in china. "The Go" as it says on the website for Chicago Scooter Co. Leo i think i have a wright up over on 49cc.com when i was looking and then when i bought my bike, but heck my friend, im getting to old to remember everything. HA! chewbaca, How dare you talk bad about jonway. I had one for 5 years had 5,7XX miles on it after it was re-made in the USA (by me ) Sold it for $300

I thought the Genuine Stellas were made in India? I think they were, and may still be... It's the "Chicago Scooter Co." brand sold under the Genuine/Buddy name that's Chinese, and has a very good rep. leo, I think you got mixed up here. Genuine Scooter Co. Makes the Buddy and is made in Taiwan. I have a GS Roughhouse Sport. After 2 years of riding everyday i have yet put a wrench on it (other then a spark plug. Its a 2T). If you see one up front you will know its not from China. Chicago Scooter Co. might be there sister Co. and do look more like the china scooters but a bit better made. PGO Scooters/ Motive Power Industry for some clarification. Cycle WorldAnd This link motorcycle.com

Sure makes a new Taiwan-made scoot look better and better! For me to even consider putting up with the cross-threaded bolts, nearly dead-on-arrival starters, coils and CDI's, undersized headers choked with weld residue, "square wheels" rotten valve-stems, rotten fuel-lines, non-working lights, hidden disconnected wires, needles falling off analog gauges, totally out-of-whack carbs, crankcases full of used tractor oil and grass, NO instructions and NO dealer backup of any kind... I'd have to get a new Chinese scoot for HALF of what a well-worn Japanese, Taiwanese or Italian equivalent costs... Even then, I'd have to think twice, and I'd probably STILL go non-Chinese. Yeah, there ARE quality Chinese scoots... Like the "Chicago Scooter Co." rides from Genuine/Buddy... But $3,200 for a 125cc SHOULD buy top quality. I paid my "Chinese dues" for five seasons getting my Xingyue 150 "right"... And I finally DID get it right, AND totally reliable and quick... But was it worth FIVE years of wrenching, no riding and walking home to save a grand? NO. This is my 6th season on my '07 Kymco Grandvista 250 which had 15K miles on the clock when I bought it... Absolutely TROUBLE-FREE. Just turn the key and RIDE... NO wrenching necessary...If you have the money, get a NEW Japanese, Taiwanese or Italian scoot... If the budget is tight, find a nice USED one. And, if at all possible, from a reliable dealer who backs up his/her products after the sale. Just my two-cents' worth, but I've BEEN there, DONE that, GOT the T-shirt... Ride safe,Leo (happy old KYMCO jockey) in Texas Leo my GS roughhouse sport is not Chinese made but rather Taiwanese. good scooter had it for 2 years now and haven't had a wrench on it yet.

I think the Norse weRe a bit different. The had no plans to spread their religion and culture across the globe. They just wanted to take your best stuff and go home in most cases, although through using very violent means. HMMMM... Sounds like natural-born politicians! I think they were ahead of their time! Let's see now, with American elected officials, we pay THEM to steal from us. Then, we allow them to vote their own pay-raises, vote themselves immune from prosecution or paying for healthcare, and take away our rights. Then, we allow presidents to install Supreme Court judges who illegally WRITE laws instead of INTERPRETING them, and we fill the hallowed halls of Justice with brain-dead idiots who don't even know the CONSTITUTION exists, OR, that America is a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. So, while the Norse were kind enough to take their culture and religion with them when they went home (after killing everybody and their cat) I suspect a few must have remained to teach future politicians how to do it. The politicians then added the spin of shoving down our throats their culture and ideas... Yup, "One nation, under thumb, totally divisible with slavery and injustice for all".Gosh, where are some of those sword-swingin' Norse head-choppers when we really need them?... The N.S.A. will be looking at you now that Told on them Old wise man.

cookees, What brand of scooters are you selling now? I remember on the old scoot form you talking about dropping a brand due to dealer support. I went with GS due to the fact i like the RH sport, i got a heck of a deal and it was the only dealer close by 20 miles away and the owner does all the work and he is picky to the Tee as i did my own PDI and i was inpressed. The kcmco dealer is about 150 miles away and i don't know if they even sell SYM in Mo. As far as working on them, i live in a collage town and most of the students drive kcmco or GS (buddy) and the rest of the loco's drive china scoot's (about 8 where mine at one time) for me the china scoots with the GY6 are easy'er to work on but the problem i almost always run in to is cost-- even when i do some of the work for free. They just don't want to hear the tune "it will be around $50.00" and some how i really don't blame some of them as some bought a used scooter that is in need of some repair (and almost always an oil change).
