I have used paper sacks (if coated with grease they work even better) , cereal boxes and even thin copper sheeting. On aluminum parts, I use a plastic hammer instead of a ball-peen. Silicon is the best, but in some places gasket thickness is factored into parts fitting. Yes making gaskets is a pain, but I don't want to have to crack the case apart after I'm done because of a cheap gasket.

You should replace the steel wool with glass muffler packing material. And check your spark plug, I bet your running it really lean.

I have several different kinds, but use the rubber-fibre kind the most.

Has any one custom made their own gaskets instead of using the cheap paper gaskets that come in the kits? If so, what kind of material did you use?

Well I might just try it. I am getting ready to build a stroker engine. I have a ncy 50mm bbk and head I am going to use. I would like to try this to compare performance. With a stock head and a stroker crank the compression just might be to much. It may grenade, but I'll have fun till it does. Roy

No, I did not unhook the factory speedometer. The speedometer puck is on the other side. Every thing on the dash is still functional. I mounted the digital so that I could still see the factory dash.

They don't take much oil as the gears will splash it around. If you filled it to the top it may be to full and leak out of the seals. This is why I asked if it had a dipstick on the plug. I did notice on the cover is states oil 250cm3 that is = .25 litres

Did the plastic plug have a small dip stick?

The spot you were pointing to in the last photo did look like a fill plug.

Anybody tried this kit yet? I might be interested. I would like some input though.

I think Doug is correct. I figured out a long time ago that some stuff I just wont buy cheap. I do a lot of research to find the best quality and will pay more if I have to. If I have to replace a cheap part it most likely will cost me more than if I just paid more for better quality to start with. If you sell better quality parts and offer better customer service the business will eventually come to you. You just have to hang in their. In business word of mouth is the best or worst advertising you can get. It is slower than other forms though. Bad advertising usually travels faster than good. A happy customer will recommend you to people that ask, but a mad customer will tell every one.

I haven't got the engine built yet. In the next few weeks I'm going to order a new replacement engine. Since I haven't found a used case. I don't want to use the engine I have now because it runs to good. (it is a 72cc with efi) This way I can just swap them and have spare parts and will still be able to ride while I build the engine.
I have been gathering parts though. I have an NCY 50mm bbk, NCY 50mm head with A9 cam, and hoca 4mm stroker crank. I am also thinking of getting A hoka bbk, head and cam. I have a 24mm carb, hoca performance intake manifold, and super trapp exhaust I am going to use. I haven't decided on the variator or clutch yet and will play with gears when it is installed in the trike.

In Missouri it is not legal to sell or transfer a vehicle without a title. They will tell you you must get the title from the person who sold it.
