Where can you get good prices on steel stroker cranks for the 49cc 139qmbs at i havnt found a place As far as I know there is only two manufactures that make a stroker crankshaft for a 139qmb engine. Hoca is one and Scooters To Go is the other. The STG is the cheaper of the two. Roy

I replaced the horns on both my trikes. I used a badboy model #419 on the 50cc trike, and I used a badboy duel cone on the magnum. If they can't see me, they should be able to hear me.

The 35w hid will consume less power than a 35w incandescent bulb, but they draw a lot of amps till the bulb is heated up. I had dual 55w halogens in the magnum with projector housings already installed. I converted them to 55w hid bulbs. They only consume 35w. Problem is they draw about 8 amps each to start. If I try to turn on both at the same time the system doesn't supply enough power. I installed a timing circuit, so that one bulb turns on then a little while later the other one turns on.

I took delivery of a new engine today. Now I can finally start this project. I could not find a suitable used engine, so I ordered a new one. (from scrappy).
Hoca 44mm stroker crankshaft
NCY 50mm BBK kit
NCY 50mm head
NCY A9 perfomance camshaft
Hoca performance intake manifold
keihin carburetor.
and various other parts.
I will need to order an 8 pole stator and flywheel. I don't want to pull it off the other engine. Also I still need to decide on a variator and clutch. I am not going to use the efi kit on this engine yet, but probably will later on.

I have a 24mm throttle body on a 72cc engine. I was one of the first to try efi on a 139qmb engine. Matt at ecotrons was extremely helpful.

I think you have something else going on in the engine. If the bearings came loose on two different crankshafts. When you had the case apart did you check where the bearing seats in the case? If so did the crank bearing fit snug in the case? You stated that it ran fine for two days after a new head was installed. Have you checked the valve settings? I don't think the cam is your problem. It may be a stretched chain or bad tensioner. I am just throwing out some ideas here and may be wrong.

I have been eying them for some time now. But like you said they are not cheap. I already have almost a thousand dollars invested in this build and ain't done yet.
This is what I have so far:
New donor engine
NCY 50mm cylinder kit
NCY 50mm head
NCY A9 cam
Hoka 44mm stroker crank
Hoka intake
Keihin carburetor
And various other items such as: coil, cdi, gaskets, seals.

Thanks Alley, If enough of ya pitch in .02 cents I will soon be rich with knowledge. You are correct about the surface area of the pads. But how much of the pad actually grabs the bell though?

I'm like you Rocky, I keep several kinds and thickness for the proper use. I even have header gasket material made by Mr Gasket. It is a white material and is super tough to cut even with a good sharp knife.

Thank you Matt. That is the kind of answer I was looking for. I understand how the clutch works by your explanation.
Skuttadawg, I have also read that some of these clutches have flew apart. If you research enough you will find that a percentage of all clutches have failed. The trick is to figure out how much of it was user error and how much was actually defective parts. Thank you for your response.

I am trying to decide what clutch and variator to use on the stroker engine I am getting ready to build. I have noticed that one has 50 degree pillow springs and the other has 60 degree springs. What I would like to know is. What is the performance difference between the two?
