Anybody tried this kit yet? I might be interested. I would like some input though.

Yes I had a TaoTao Atma 50 with a secret 63 that cracked a piston on the second day and 5 weeks or so later it blew up . I had a mental meltdown as I have owned from mopeds to a Suzuki GS650 and never once had a piston tear up . After polling and researching on SD I was suggested it . I went back to my scooter dealer and told him I did not want another piston kit and it just so happens that he had just got in two of the 50mm Air Sal kits which he sold me at a wholesale price and rebuilt it for free since it was under warranty . Another advantage of buying from a shop than online . Wow it had more power on takeoff and uphill but the same top end but I could get there and maintain it with less throttle . A friend of mine bought a scooter like mine and after I had it rebuilt his blew up and he got the same deal . I used a main jet as its humid here and I live near mountains . The first look at it you can see its a much better quality than most kits with the ceramic coated piston which helps avoid heat damage . What is so cool is tonight I ran into the guy who bought my scooter and it still runs strong he only had the belt break so far . You get what you pay for as to why I would never suggest generic engine parts with so many Ebay horror stories I have read . To me it is best to get something in the middle unless you have deep pockets for the Italian goodies . Note this kit uses the stock 40mm head which to me may have too much compression and not flow as good as a 50mm head . Well I might just try it. I am getting ready to build a stroker engine. I have a ncy 50mm bbk and head I am going to use. I would like to try this to compare performance. With a stock head and a stroker crank the compression just might be to much. It may grenade, but I'll have fun till it does. Roy

I just got done putting in a BBK I put on the stock head while waiting for the right rocker assy and i just put on the big bore head from scrappy and it had way more power with the stock head probably the more compression

A bigger head has larger valves and thus more flow . So you have a 50 or 52mm head on that Air Sal BBK ?

the big bore head with stock valves lowers compression thus lowers the power. The big heads just have a bigger cut out for the piston the valve size is the same.

The 40mm or 49cc has a smaller combustion chamber . It would be best to have a matching size head even though that kit says its made for the 40mm head

best choice is a big valve head
