I just bought this 2010 Qlink Hawk 50cc 2 stroke scooter from a friend who bought it new. It has only 400 miles on it and the top speed is only 30 mph. Does anyone know if they had restricted cdi's on these models? Did they have the ring in the variator?
The cdi looks to be a 4pin unit.
Thanks in advance for any help on getting this to go faster.

I think I need to try some lighter variator weights because it will not get up to max rpms unless it is on the center stand. It labors when on the ground. If I had some more rpms, it would go faster.

I have a 50cc gy6 139qmb scooter. I work on scooters all the time, but i cannot get any speed out of this particular scooter. I have adjusted the valves, jetted the carb to an 80 jet, installed the orange coil and cdi, tuned the carb and still no more speed. It will rev up as you are taking off then just settles down and will not go over 30. I haven't messed with the variator yet. Do you think I need lighter rollers to give it more rpms?
Thanks for your help. I am at a loss on this one

I have an Oliver City with the CPI 2 stroke 50cc engine. Since it is a top mount, I was wondering if a 150cc 4-stroke engine would bolt in place?
Anyone know for sure?

I am swapping engines from a MZ Moskito to a CPI Oliver City. They both use a CPI engine, but the stator for the Oliver was different and the shaft size for the flywheels were different so they could not be swapped. It would not start with the flywheel from the MZ on it and I suspected it was not gettin the right pulse to fire at the right time. So , I took the hub out of the MZ flywheel and riveted it into the flywheel for the Oliver. I am getting spark at Top Dead Center (TDC). I have lbs of compression and I have gas getting to it, but it will NOT fire!! I have done everything I can think of, so I am coming to you guys for a fresh idea to get it running......HELP!!!

on a car, if the alternator is not charging and you disconnect the battery, the car will die. I tried that with the scooter and it continued to run, but showed no DC voltage across the wires with the battery disconnected.
The fuse looks like it is in tact, but my question is, "Does the charging circuit come through the fuse"?

Is the fuse where it charges through?

Relatively new scooter with 139qmb engine. It runs great, but will not charge the battery. I changed the rectifier and still no charge. It also has a loose connection somewhere as it will not start sometimes unless you bump it up onto the center stand, then the gas gauge starts working, the horn works and it will start with the electric starter. I only mention this because they MAY be related.

will the stator of of one 2-stroke engine work with the flywheel from another 2 stroke engine? Here is my deal: I had a wrecked MZ Moskito with a CPI engine on it that ran. I have a CPI Oliver City scooter that the engine is bad. I took the engine from the Mokito and put it on the Oliver, but I had to install the stator from the oliver because the wiring was diffent....plug and colors different, but I had to keep the flywheel off the moskito because the shaft size seems different.....
anyway, i cant get it to run, yet it has spark, gas and compression.....and ran on the other bike
