I thought I would share with the group an unusual circumstance with a scooter. A guy brought in a 139qmb-engined scooter this weekend saying it turned over really slow and that the battery was new and charged. So, I started at the battery and diagnosed that nothing was wrong with the power wire to the solenoid, nor was there anything wrong with the solenoid itself. Then I determined that there was nothing wrong with the starter wire or any of the connections. I checked all the grounds and they were all good....so I replaced the starter and STILL had the same problem. I took off the variator cover and pulled the bendix out. I put a dab of grease in each bearing and put it back together and it now works great!!!
I have worked on hundreds of scooters and this is the first time I have run across this.
I thought I would share in case anyone is having a similar problem!!

139qmb engine, has run great for three seasons, put the battery in it, started right up, drove it 4-5 times and worked great, shut it off and went to start it the next day and it turns over but wont start. Cleaned the carb, but then noticed it had no spark, replaced the plug, replaced the coil, replaced the CDI, and still nothing........
HELP!!!!
