No biggy, 99.9 percent of the time people complain about oil squirting out of the Valve Cover Vent hose. Not many have it squirting out of the Tranny Vent hose. BUT NEXT TIME PAY ATTENTION Odd too...cause we have a guy in town that is a tranny...and I never seen him leak any oil. On a serious note..I have never seen a scooter tranny leak oil. But they do only hold about 110cc...so I guess overfilling would be very easy. Also I would like your opinion on this...and from others as well. Many have said to use straight 30w oil in the tranny...others say use 80/ gear oil....and one even told me he uses boat motor tilt/trim oil..huh? What do you use and what do you recommend?..

He said he is spitting oil out of the TRANNY VENT HOSE NOT the Valve COVER VENT HOSE. Even put up a picture of the hose spitting out oil. If it is blowing out of the Valve Cover Vent hose it is most likely someone probably overfilled. If not then he has internal ring problems. BUT IN EITHER CASE it was overfilled. If so it will stop once it blows out the extra oil or you can drain and fill it properly. Alleyoop Alleyoop...sorry did not see the tranny part..was reading too fast and checking on the gf's Kitty. In labor..4 born so far...need any kittens?.. I totally dislike cats. They eat...sleep..scratch up the furniture and ya can't play with them like a dog. Ya toss a stick..the cat just looks at you like yer nuts and seriously need a dog...lol Should we ever get broken into..my dog would shred them...unless he is out on his stake out chain. The cat would bargain with the thieves...."Look rub my belly a minute or 2 and I will show you where they stash all their jewelry and firearms"...

[replyingto=ramblinman]ramblinman[/replyingto]Ok..just got the scoop on them from 2 other sites and a few blogs I found on them. They are a very small home business and why they don't answer emails or the phone. They have no staff to do so..only 2 people. They stock few to none as far as parts. Standard CDI's..bulbs..belts and a few of the most commonly replaced scoot parts only. When you order from them they order the parts you need using your money. Hence a greater than 2 week delivery. Kind of like a drop ship business I am guessing. They get your money..then use it to order direct from China...because they have no money or inventory. I believe in and support ALL small businesses and utilize them before I go with huge corporations. But something like this is ridiculous. I myself have an account in China and can order direct..but the reason I chose this place was because..as we all know...direct from China takes many weeks. I figured this would be faster..but it is not..because they are ordering direct from China...then ship it to you...which makes shipping time even longer. Anyway..just a heads up.. ;D

1. change fuel filter (and fuel lines) 2. change drive belt with Kevlar Belts (yup) 3. adjust valves (yup) 4. change CDI to deregulate rpms (maybe) 5. remove the spacer by the variator to deregulate the speed(there is no spacer now days) 6. tighten all the bolts.( you have to leave 1 loose.) 7. change the oil( it has to want to change.) stock 50cc Cranks go about 9000 miles. then its tear down time. Variators, clutch need maintaince. Variator has a bronze bushing it needs to soak up oil so it will last. Clutch has grease inside that needs to be redone bout every 3000 miles. Belts kevlar 4000 miles+ If you mod them over rev expect a shorter tear down cycle. Most guys around here see 1200-3000 miles on 80cc b4 it blows. 70cc's seem to blow in a year of hard riding. 50cc's don't blow up. 100cc's Ha Ha.. last a week or two. If you want a scooter that you can run to death go Japan or Italy French German, $$ Chinese are Cheap Toys that need to be run Hard. The best way to do these China 50cc is get a new one cheap add BBK,preformance variator and run it hard for a year. Sell it get another one do the same. We have a few with 80 BBK's that have 8,000 and 9,000+ miles on them. But we do not run them WOT everywhere as many do. We get up to WOT quickly..then back off to 1/2 throttle. The rpm's drop..but we maintain the same speed...so it is less harsh on the engine. p.s. and will still go on record as saying the QJ GY6 engines... part 2T part 4T engines are a pain in the @ss...just pure junk...

Yep, one way to do it, make slots on the Pickup Coil, other way is they sell OFFSET WOODRUFF KEYS. Alleyoop Not seen the offset woodruff keys in awhile...except for pocket bikes. Know anybody that still sells them for scoots? Not that I want one...but it may help him if he is on a tight budget. As for me I buy the CDI's with an advance curve built in them..

There is an anomaly PIA engine. The QJ GY6 50cc. It is part 2 stroke...part 4 stroke. It uses parts from both such as the CVT... I do not care for that engine...pffft...

I have done it...and it works ok...you notice a slight improvement. BUT it is a constant...it is linear throughout the rpm range. You would do better buying a CDI that has an advancing timing curve as Doug mentioned.

This might be the cause. (and solution too) No offense to the site..but I bought that same exact part. Autozone..NAPA and Auto Quest have them for $2.99. But with the 150's I have worked on...when it gets to blowing oil..the check valve is just a 'Band Aid' on a deeper problem..that being excessive blow by. All 4 on tear down..I found the oil rings compressed and locked into the piston. 2 had a 'Double Whammy' collapsed oil rings and deteriorated valve stem seals allowing too much oil into the top end..where it was blown out the vent line. Each person gave the same story...they were running WOT for a long stretch of many miles. Said they felt like a sudden but slight power loss..then oil spray. Not diagnosing...just sharing what I found....so it may be worth looking into...

did you pay with credit card? call your credit card company. i believe if it has been less than 60 days they can do a chargeback. i'm not certain of the specific laws so even if it has been longer still call them. they can help most-likely. It was a pay pal direct transaction. Called them..had to put in a dispute and after 30 days from putting in the dispute they can charg eback..so they said. But they give retailers 30 days to correct the issue.

I have been ordering and selling Lithium scoot batteries. A bit more pricey than wet cell ones...but not as crappy as the AGM ones. AGM batteries..if the charge falls below 10.8v..most chargers will not charge them as they think it is a dead or shorted cell. Newer chargers work well for them...but the 'Smart Chargers' are not smart and read them dead or bad cell as I said above. Lithium batteries just rock.. take your 4 amp wet cell...70-80 CCA...same size Lithium is 120CCA. The standard wet cell or AGM YTX7A-BS 7 amp battery most use are 105-110 CCA....the same one in Lithium is 170CCA!! I put a 52mm big bore kit in a GY650cc and the compression was too much for the battery..barely turned it over....his AGM YTX7A-BS 105 CCA battery was just too weak, We dropped in the Lithium YTX7A-BS and the 170CCA it puts out..spun it over like there was no spark plug in the thing! They also don't mind the cold as much as other battery types do. Try one...you won't go back to the others.

Avoid www.chinesepartswholesale.com! DO NOT become a dealer with them. They will send you a partial order and when the remaining items are back in stock...you will NEVER get them. They will claim....order #(whatever it is) has been filled and shipped. Also they will take your payment...a week or more will pass and it still shows up in your shopping cart not even having been acknowledged. Resolution by email or phone cannot be done as the do not answer email or the phone. So currently I am out the rest of a partial order and they have the money for my second order..yet no confirmation of receiving it....tracking # or even that order is pending...NOTHING! Again there is no reply to phone calls or emails asking why there is a hold up and why the partial order was never filled.....because they WILL NOT answer any emails or phone calls. But they gladly take your money. Buyer beware!!

I'm guessing it's all the bashing of police that's been going on. Seems some here think that just because they know a majority of crooked cops, means they can rag on police in general and as an entire group. Go check out my thread in Gen Scooter for I think the most recent example. 'dad, I don't think it's the specific stories of individuals. I think it's the attitude of "most cops are bad so I'll just bad-mouth the entire profession". Those posters don't care to dwell on the good, they just keep pushing on how bad cops are. By implication meaning "all" even if they don't. 'Cause they're not bothering to specify, just attack the profession. I've tried to defend the police, acknowledging that there are bad but there's also good and let's not bash them all. But I'm getting tired of the negativity of it myself. And I'm not a cop. I'm just a naive trusting girl thinking the best of everyone. Funny, so far it's worked out pretty okay for me, living like that.... >'Kat SylvreKat I hope it was not my 3 times arrested story for a court error story...it was really horrible..and I did not implicate the police..in fact I said he stated while we were being recorded in the vehicle..that he knew it was a mistake..tried to show them...but was ordered to get me. Forced to by his Captain. I did say he is one of the 4 officers we have in town that is well respected...for respecting others...and the other 3 in town we dislike immensely. But that is not hate..it just the truth brought on by their poor social skills and lack of respect for the citizens. I also shared how an officer in another town and county I lived in....caught me doing 50mph on my lil scoot. Told me he thought the law needed to be amended as 30 mph is dangerous when folks such as his college student son rides one to classes on roads where the speed limit is 55mph. Also he said...a car can get a ticket for going 30mph in a 55 zone as they are impeding the flow of traffic. His big fear was that he has seen MANY close calls on the 3 hills that go out of town. People on scooters would be on the other side of the hill as cars crested the hill at 55-60 and BOOM! they were right on the scooter. So he used to stop scoots and tell them to when they ride out of town over the hills...PLEASE stay to the right of the white line..ride along the edge..as he has seen many near collisions when the car came over the hill..then had to swerve to avoid the moped or scooter. He issued me no ticket...in fact...he was the officer that asked me if I could hop up his sons scoot. Which I did for free he just had to pay for the parts...BBK and 5 gram KOSO sliders. In fact he even went so far as to bring up the laws regarding sooters speed limits at his morning quarters. They ALL agreed he told me... and pushed aside the state law whereas they would only stop a scooter if they were speeding in town where it was 25 and 35. So that was something positive I shared. Therefore I hope it was not me that offended him.

Agree with rune75 and millsc..#78-#80 is what we run on a stock 50....for the 47mm BBK we use a # ....for the 50mm we use a # and for the 52mm we need at least a # ....or you will run lean...have no power...and cook that engine..
