Only domed 4T piston I have ever seen is the Airsal kit. Those 50mm kits are all I put in customer Scoots and the output is better than any 52mm I have installed. PLUS Airsal quality at a SUPER cheap price. Here is a link to the Airal kit. It was designed for the stock rod and head even! www.spi-parts.com/gy6-airsal-81cc-big-bore-cylinder-kit-02350150.htmlLike Matt said and his advice is always solid...based facts from not only a shop owner..but rider and scoot mechanic himself..so as he said..better quit while you are ahead... Buy kit as all one piece..vice piecing one together. Glenn

Larry..unreal..that engine went 7 minutes with no oil and my Scoot only made it 50 yds a few times till it was dead. But from my experience..we have all learned on this board that water makes a lousy 2T lubricant. ;D Have completely disassembled...drained and cleaned the oil injection system. Added Yamalube and bled the pump..amazing how well these 2T engines run with oil vice water. Still wanna know how it got in there... Btw...my 21 yo daughter is a welder...but I think I told you that already..

Hey Glenn, as we all know a Bear does $hlT in the Woods. But, Does a small Bear Trap (or 3) Work as advertized in the Woods ? One way to find out. larry..good idea...cause they always use the same trail from town..through the woods to the apartments and houses that get broken in to. We do have a serious ground hog problem around here...so if I set out 5-6 Medium #5 traps...I may resolve the ground hog problem. Sad part is..if one of thieves and vandals around us that always travel 1 a.m. till 5 a.m. Well..they could step in one and get a serious...Boo Boo owwie...Gee that would suck... ;D

Yup, gotta agree. If you don't have a water cooled engine, and if your oil level was where it should be, and later it's higher, with water in it, then you have malicious gremlins. Even with high humidity, you couldn't condensate that amount of moisture in a couple of days. You don't have a small child who is "helping" you by chance? No sir..my children are all adults. My neighbor kids are 2 months old and another is 18 months old. Even my roomie said it was suspicious due to the amount...and she is not mechanically inclined in the least!! About twice a week we here someone outback messing with our scoots..but we have a SUPER HEAVY log chain to secure them. You cannot even move that chain an inch without a whole of noise being made. 3 times I woke and heard somebody...snuck out the front and went around back to confront them. The first 2 times the fled to the woods when they saw(my unloaded)Colt 1911 with TAC light and laser sight pointed at them. The 3rd guy I walked right up on with 8" stainless steel .357 in one hand...laser sight in the other. He fled 30yds to the wood line and stood beside a tree. I put the handheld laser om him and he simply crouched down and got behind the tree. A minute later he pops out from the other side of the tree!! He had the entire woods to use an escape route yet he stuck around?? I fired one round into the air and he departed swiftly. Went in to call the Police. When they arrived..they said they were gonna deny hearing about a round fired into the air as it was Illegal and could be tried as attempted murder second class felony. I was informed..we have NO RIGHT to defend our property as that is THEIR job. HUH?When do they do that?...45 mins after you call. Also was told even defending your life with a firearm...causing death is often tried as a lower form of homicide.?? Yet the Gov wonders why we have so many criminals... they need to read my post right here..that will tell them why. Bottom line...that much water in the oil reservoir was NOT an accident or coincidence. Most likely a payback by the many I have caught trying to steal our Scoots....or vandalism by one of our many local low lifes that are well know for messing with folks cars. So anyway...So new BBK goes in today...since this one has less than 90psi left...and barely runs..

How did it get water in the oil tank ? What spark plug do you use ? My dealer told me about a client with a 2T that would idle fine but soft seize in a mile since he had too hot a plug . I switched from 7 to a BRP8HIX Kevin I use BRP8HIX also. @ Kevin and sailracer...that much oil was not condensation or from the little bit of rain we had..because the reservoir is sealed tightly with a rubber cap. Just like the TV show...I was 'Punked'.. We have lots of car and other vehicle vandalism here in town. Everyone knows the family of 5 boys that do it because they have been caught...yet NOT ONE charge has been placed by the local county Sheriff Dept...

For those of you that followed my soft seize post....I found one of the culprits. I wondered why one night my reservoir was 1/2 full and the next morning quite a bit higher. Yup..the black you see is the oil...the clear is the water beneath it...and since our oil reservoirs empty from the bottom into the oil pump..I was getting ZERO oil...just water. I am totally surprised it even ran at all!!! It soft seized daily..except the other day I rode to Fennville and back..a town 8 miles away. Not a single glitch..was just down on power from the 7 previous soft seizes and now lower compression. Later that night my roomie needed smokes..so I went to get them for her. We are 1/2 mile from a small store in town. It soft seized as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. Checked everything over this morning and found nothing...so I rode it about 40 miles in all and not a problem. Went to Ryans house an hour later..about 1 mile away...did fine. Headed back home and 1/4 mile..seized again! Let it cool...fired right up..got 50 feet..seized..let it cool..fired right up..50 feet later..seized. Pushed it 3/4 mile home. We put premix in the tank and pulled the oil line to check pump...5 mins of nothing but pure water came out!! Had to drain and flush the ENTIRE oil system. Where the water came from is beyond me..but it has cost me 3 BBK's so far.. Anybody ever see or have this happen? Attachments:

Interesting, good stuff to know. I am in the process of putting a BBK on my 2T Derbi and was going to run some pre-mix in addition to the oil injection because I thought the extra oil would help her break-in. Bad idea. CopperDeer..learn from my mistake and the professional 2t small engine folks posts up there. Today I Install my 3rd BBK due to excess oil. Each one was dead in less than 100 miles. According to a certified Yamaha Mechanic at the local dealership..my 32:1 premix with what the oil pump puts out at 3/4 to WOT...it becomes a 12:1 ratio! He was surprised it even ran..as many have done the same with their Zuma's or Vino's..which would barely run when he got them in the shop....after several soft seizes the piston..rings and cylinder were shot. Gouges so deep he said that even a .020 over bore could not remove! Which got me to thinking..with Yamaha and Honda Scoots..you can bore out .010, .020 and .030 and they make over bore piston kits for them...yet our Chinese or Taiwanese Scoots...we buy a new BBK. But he did say a new BBK is cheaper that what they charge to overbore a Yamaha or Honda..but then they are only allowed to use OEM parts. So the customer pays out the butt...while we can get off lots cheaper. Let us know how your BBK comes out. The extra 22cc does not seem like much...but as all will tell ya here...it a WORLD of difference in power...wow.

long time 2 cycle power equipment dealer here. Its a common mistake made on two cycle engines to run too rich on oil mix. Not only can it cause the exhaust port to build up carbon which can break loose and score the piston and cylinder. Think of it this way. Oil is a GREAT insulator. That's why its in big electrical transformers. An excess oil gas mix will put excess oil on the skirt of the piston. Heat MUST transfer from the piston to the cylinder wall and dissipate on the cylinder's fins ( we're talking air cooled here). Guess what happens when the extra oil is on the piston and "insulates" it from transferring the heat to the cylinder. When you see dark brown on a piston skirt its "cooked" oil from heat. The thought if some is good mORE is better just doesn't apply here. Use the premix or the oiling system but not both. main thing use an oil for an AIRCOOLED 2 stroke. I run my 2004 AlphaSports/eTon on RedMax 2 cycle oil that is a good blend of synthetic.dino oil. Made for air cooled two cycle engines I have low to no smoke and approaching 2k miles. Other than running premium fuel, changed to NGK Iridium about a year ago and keeping a good fuel filter its had nothing done since 2004. Thanks..your experience and expertise in the field confirms my soft seizes. Engine top end is now shot...but drained the premix and run on oil pump only. Usually 50-75 yards WOT at about 9k-9.5k and 55 mph...soft seize! Ran it today many miles on the oil pump only. Feeling brave..the last 2 miles home I ran it WOT...figuring ?... I gotta replace the top end anyway since the compression is about 90psi. NOT EVEN a hint of soft seize! Its final soft seize was so bad I actually heard the piston squeal and whistle in the cylinder before it locked up. Piston and cylinder are scored extremely deep and cannot be saved.Power is so low it takes a mile to hit 9k or so. Once I hit that I kept going 2 miles WOT...not single glitch. Sooo...new BBK will be oil pump only. Also I always use air cooled 2T oil. Bel Ray or Yamalube...never a drop of TC-W3 designated boat or jet ski liquid cooled oil. Even though most of it says 'Multi-Purpose' and has a motorcycle pic on the label. A guy I know the next town over fried his new Aprilla Sr50 on the 3rd tank using that stuff. Glenn

Glenn airbox and stock exhaust ? How many RPMs do you ride at ? Did you do a plug chop ? Kevin...yes stock airbox...stock gears. I run 9.5k at 55mph. But 9-9.5K is where it soft seizes. Plug chop looks great...no oil or black partially burned oil marks on it. Just a sooty light brown coating.

Aha! That is the only one that advanced as it should when I tested a few. The one my wholesaler has been out of for 3 months. Now I know where to get one...cause I refuse to install junk in a customers Scoot. Thanks John..
