i posted in your other thread. only thing i can tell you is to remove the seat first. using the key open the compartment and you will/should find 4 bolts (sometimes more). remove those and the under seat compartment can be removed. from that point you will need to remove all visible screws then looking behind the panels you can usually tell which way you need to shift them to unhook the plastic tabs. this is the difficult part so go slow.
i've broken a few plastic tabs on mine so you may want to get better advice from someone else. they can be repaired fairly easily though so no big deal imo.
edit: depending on what you need to do to the engine you may only need to remove the under seat compartment and that is very easy.

welcome to the forum jethro, the plastic panels can be a pain to remove. i've cracked mine a few times so you probably don't want any advice from me on the subject, lol. so maybe someone else can chime in here for you but if you do crack one it can be repaired.

an increase in rpms would indicate an air intake leak. true... but may also indicate an air leak if rpms dropped. that would be my thought.

jb weld is my only thought. not sure how well it would work but cheaper than replacing the whole assembly.

Check with the cc company. Many cover damage to rental vehicles. this!... hey toxictom, if you talk to your friends tell them what jarlaxle posted. i'm going on a trip next month and been looking into renting a car instead of taking the scooter so been reading a little on insurance. if they used their credit card to rent the scooter their is a good chance they have some coverage through them.

I had EXPENSIVE full-coverage insurance. I had just moved from Illinois to Texas, and the carrier refused to pay off because the theft took place outside of Illinois. Yeah... So much for "being in good hands"...Leo in Texas and yet another reason why i will never pay for insurance... thieves need to be punished! and the people that stole your ride deserve the same.

umm, don't those idiot rental places have insurance to cover damages? i've never heard of anyone owing 1800 for damaging a rental car so... thought part of the rental fee pays for the coverage. good luck getting a penny if it was me... $1,800 really?

is this a case of my flote inside the carb sticking?or what? i really dont want to pull the carb off , would a cleaner work?,is there any thing else i can do? or am i barking up the wrong tree, any thoughts? it was working grate when i put it up for the winter, now this. thanks for any and all help. i had similar problem with my atm50. cleaned the carb, problem solved. if you don't want to take apart the carb you could try seafoam. i think that is the brand many use. i've never used but read it works great.

last time i bought a tire for a bicycle it was folded up in a small box. probably twice the size of an inner tube box so wouldn't take up much space if you took a couple spares. really like how you solved the tire problem though.

I just checked out the aprilia sr-50 i think im in love. The price is up there but build quality and performance looks amazing. This is going to be a tough decision lol from what i have read, aprillia is a very good scooter if not the best. those little 50cc will go 50mph stock after restrictor is removed. think it's restricted electronically and can be removed with a gameboy (if i'm not mistaken).

i'll throw my 2 cents in here... this happened on my atm50 just before i got ready to sell it. i cleaned the carb and the symptoms disappeared. hopefully it is that easy for you. if not, alleyoop is sure to diagnose the problem for you.

So from what im understanding tao tao, kymco, piaggio are not bad brands? tao tao are cheap chinese scoots. with proper care they can be reliable. the other brands you have listed are better quality from what i have read.
