I would say just take it apart again, put it at tdc and then take readjust the cam and the valve clearance. I normally do .002, .004 seems a bit big to me but some things work better for other people

hey problem is solved!! I took the head off again because things just weren't adding up, I noticed that something brass (unconfirmed) was stuck under the intake valve not allowing it to close all the way. I took it out, put everything back together and it started right up. now my only question is...where did this come from and how did it get there. what in the valve train is gold/brass??

I think it may be my rings, I just tore it apart and and the piston is fine...black but fine. the spark plug is a cross between 7 and 3 but I think it's because it use to be so rich the plug would be wet after riding. I just can't believe without warning it just died.

hey guys, I have a weird problem, my scooter has no compression. I rode it a lot of the day today and it rode fine, no loss of power, no smoking, nothing! And when I go to move it it starts and idles for a second and shuts off. I try to start it again and it starts spinning ridiculously fast (I even pushed the kick start by hand and there was like no force behind it.
this top end has like 625 miles on it and never gave me a problem besides running rich. (50mm bbk, a9 cam, uni filter, hot coil, big carb...23mm I think?) I have the needle set to as lean as it can go, I had it 1 above it for the longest time and it was still running really rich so today I moved it down to the last setting and it died...do you think that it ran way to lean? I didn't have a chance to pull it apart yet, but I've had a lot of small engine and normally when the rings go it at least smokes or something.
any help would be great thanks

Hey everyone I have a really weird problem. My scooter runs beautiful until I hit a bump or a pot hole. I will be riding and everything will be great then I will hit a bump and I will notice the tachometer will bottom out and then it will start missfiring and and bog way down.
Can anyone think of what this could be?

hey guys, I was wondering if you can just swap the 12" wheels from a bigger scooter onto ours to make the speedometer a bit more accurate.
thanks bob

backfiring?

it's more of a popping sound (the best way to describe it would be it sounds like a sparkler) and the spark plug is covered in black soot. so maybe I need to take it down from a . to maybe a . but I thought for a 50mm bbk . would work just fine, oh well. it pops and crackles only when I'm on the throttle, 1/2 throttle and higher.

backfiring?

hey everyone I'm not sure if it's backfiring or what, my scooter did this before it died the first time (actually since I bought it new) it's like a crackling sound coming out of the exhaust. Before it was if I had it at WOT for to long but I'm breaking in the top end and it started doing it again (haven't gone past half throttle or 35 mph so far I'm at 35 miles) I see that it is running rich because I wanted it that way especially for the break in.
whenever it does it the power goes way down and the louder it gets the more power it looses. all I can really do is just keep letting off the throttle but you can only do 5mph for so long.
any help would be amazing thanks Bob

with single speed not really, it's kind of more take off then when you get into gearing you can get more top end

Yeah I can turn them with a screw driver so should the whole assembly come a part or just the pins come out
