Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've had to fix my scooter but it died on my last week and I think it may be the stator. It wasn't charging the battery at all and I was riding and it felt fine and then out of no where it was way down on power, made it another few miles and when I came to a stop it just died and I couldn't get it started again. I changed the cdi and coil and still no change so I think it's the stator.
I ordered one and of course the 3 pin connector was wrong...also ordered a 6 pole instead of a 8 pole...so my bad on that one. The ones that I found that have the same 3 pin plug only have the yellow and white wires and no green. So my question is what would happen if I put a stator in that doesn't have the ground/green wire? Will it work like normal or what?
Thank you

Alright good to know, the one from scrappy does anyone know the difference between the performance and the high performance one? Because I see the performance one with or without the carb and high performance with or without the cars but they don't say what the difference is besides like $50

Alright thanks, I was looking on eBay and I found an even bigger valve one like 2mm bigger in each, and it's only $35 but I'm just scared that it'll defiantly cause issues because 20 and 23mm valves are huge on these engines...but it's only $35! Idk I may try it and if anything add another base gasket

I believe I had the best luck with 1/8 line I think that's like 3mm but not 100%

I always use 91 or whatever the gas station has, there is one that I've been wanting to go to that has turbo blue (110) but it's 9. a gallon last time I went there but that was like 8 months ago. same with another gas station near me they say cam 2 (110) but I have no idea the price of it, I think I may try it this summer and hope for the best

check everything stated above, I had the same problem, I did all that and still nothing, I took the head off and saw that the piston itself was cracked, I now use it as something to hang from my rear view mirror. but if all the gaskets are fine, the spark plug hole is good, and the valves are good, check deeper.
Also before I rebuilt my engine I was having close to the same problem and a small piece of the valve guide broke off and was stuck between the valve and the head not letter the valve close all the way making it sound like I had no compression.

I've got the a9 in my 50mm and I love it, nothing really bad to say, I can't really make a comparison about it vs stock because I did everything at the same time, but I have had it in for probably 1500 miles and no problems

hey guys, I've got the need for more speed and power. I already have the 50mm bbk, exhaust, intake, bigger carb...24mm I think maybe 23, a9 cam, pretty much everything you can get. I was looking last night at the big valve head and was wondering if anyone has this and if so how do you like it? the only thing I'm worried about is clearance. I remember back in the day people would double stack head gaskets, but I wasn't sure if there were other ways to do this or if it would be bad for an air cooled engine.
any help would be great, thanks

Hey weird question but just for a cleaner looking install I saw those ncy oil cooler plug adaptors that they don't sell separately what are the odds of just tapping the drain plug and just put a fitting on there and using that as a supply?

alright small update, I changed out the main jet...I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS ONLY AN !! I changed it out to a 105 it's now rideable...kind of, it still bogs at WOT but not as bad I can still ride it. I need to reroute the oil return line because it's just blowing out the back of the turbo because it's not recirculat properly and it was smoking worse then a 2 stroke

I'm not sure how much boost it would make because I haven't had a chance to ride it because of the whole starving for fuel thing, but I remember I half way put it on a different scoot because I rebuilt the turbo and it made like 5psi, but it was only for like a second because I didn't want to run it without oil for to long. I'm hoping that leaving it higher compression will actually help me because it'll have more power outside of boost so that means it'll have more power to create boost (I hope) so I'm going to see just what happens. I've had/have a few turbo cars and yeah they do have low compression, but that's just so they can either use more boost or run without an intercooler, like my nissan 300zx for example, it has 7.7:1 I believe maybe a little lower and they did that so they could run 7psi from factory so it would be like running 12:1 effective compression at full boost. if I see that it does make boost I plan on going efi but if it doesn't there's almost no point in this build. It's kind of funny we have a running joke at where I work because I call this on the mk3 because I had an older jonway that I put a t25 off of a tallon on and it make 2psi way past any usable rev range (mk1), then I used the same exhaust welded a flange that I made for this turbo on and tried...then I could never get the jonway to stay running (even without the turbo on) (mk2), then I made a new exhaust and put the small turbo on there and that's where I am now (mk3) but I plan on making another new exhaust because as you see from the picture it sits so close to the wheel and tire that I don't want it to backfire and melt a tire lol.

hey guys, this isn't a regular question, but I just turbo charged my scooter, I have it about % done (just small things I need to finish visually) and I'm having a little bit of a problem. It was running really lean, I put the washer on the needle jet all the way to rich, and that cleared up a little bit of my problem, it'll rev pretty high but when I get to about 3/4 to WOT it'll pretty much shut itself off. I'm pretty sure it's the main jet being to small (not sure what size it is). Do you think what I'm thinking is right? I'm assuming it's getting to much air and it can't pump enough fuel to stop it from dying. It idles great, revs great from idle to 5k or so then just bogs to the point of trying to die, all of my intake piping is air tight so I don't think it's an air leak especially seeing how well it idles and revs. a little about the build, it's a 50mm big bore, a9 cam, performance variator, weights, and clutch, k03 turbo from a 1.8t jetta...any other questions I'll be more then happy to answer. thank you
