hey guys, I just installed my big bore kit today but when I went to put the head on it was like the rocker arms were to long. I looked in my box of goodies and saw that it came with new rocker arms but I can't find how to install them, like how to take apart the assembly. if anyone can tell me that would be awesome.
thanks Bob

Look at the sides of the assembly the rocker arm shafts have a slot in them, they do not screw out though they should slide out. if they don't just rap it on something and they should slide out. The slot is so you can align the notches to line up with the holes so that head studs will go through.

yeah I believe that the stock ones are 69 and the new ones are 64. so if I just hit it a few times the pins should just slide right out?

An easy way to tell the valve length. Lay a straight edge across the top of the valve springs and measure the distance between the top of the head and the bottom of straight edge. The head on the left has 69mm valves, the distance measures about 10mm. The head on the right has 64mm valves and the distance is about 5mm. Roy

Well the head on the right is taller than the one on the left so of course the left one from the top of the spring to top of the head will be greater. Best way to measure is from valve stem to valve stem. The 69 will be a wider gap than the 64. Alleyoop

No, Alley the two heads are the same height. It is the camera angle that makes them look different. Both heads measure 59.5mm. the distance from stem to stem of the 69mm valves is 77.56mm. The measurement of the 64mm valves is 73.45m as measured inside, as measured outside the 69mm valves measured 82.56mm and the 64mm valve head measured 78.45mm Roy

If you over torqued the head stud nuts, it may have squeezed the assembly and the may be tight. Can you turn the studs with a screwdriver? Hold it on a solid surface with the stud hole hanging over the edge and rap it with a rubber/plastic mallet. not to hard though you may distort or break the assembly. You might also have to wiggle the rocker arm.
