So you were't even worthy of of a glance from "His Majesty"? (not to impugn Yamaha scooterists) That's why you'll never see me on a Honda scoot, those people are just too snobby! ;D Btw, the PCX 150 does put out a solid 13.5 hp (about the same as a Chinese 250 scoot.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_PCXI can't tell if you're joking or not but just because someone pays more than you for something and wants quality and reliability doesn't mean they are all snobby jerks. With some of the posts here you'd think hondas/yamahas/vepas cost the same as a Ferrari for the way everyone reacts about it.

I always see posts on CL where people are trying to sell used chinese scooters for around double what they cost new. Good thing prices are hard to find on the internet... oh wait..

Here if you ride your own bike to the class and get caught then you have a hefty fine to pay and the bike sits in impound accruing storage fees until you do pass the course. About half the students in the class I took had been caught riding without a license and were there to get their bikes out of impound. In PA you need your permit, which is just the written test to even sign up for the safety class. Lots of people rode their own motorcycles to the class, I think the only permit restrictions were that you can't ride at night and can't ride 2 up. Once I passed the course (2 nights of classroom and 2 days of riding drills and test) they stamped my M class permit right on the spot. It's free here too, really a great service.

Every reciept i have from online wal mart has tax on it? How are yall not pay tax If you purchase from a store online that has an office/store in your same state you pay taxes on it already. I run an ecommerce store at work, same thing here, everyone gets it tax free but the people who live in our same state pay just like if they bought retail.

Congrats! I started mine last week too. Had the classroom time on Tuesday night and on the course Saturday from 8-1. Have to do the same schedule this week then i'll have the written and riding test and I should be done too!
I had a Suzuki 250, standard bike, most of the others had a 125. I actually grabbed one of the smaller ones since I've never ridden a motorcycle before but they had me swap with a girl that they wanted on a 125 instead.

RE: That safety course you mentioned. Check your local laws, but where I am and lots of other states anything over a 50cc scooter requires a full motorcycle license. If your safety course is like mine, you take your written permit test first then when you complete the course you get your full class M license and can ride that nice new Honda 150.

Thanks! Yes, I started looking about a year ago when I saw 50cc scooters on an online auction. The more I read and figured I'm almost 6 feet and 190+ lbs I think I'd get run off most side roads around here on a 50 4T. I really don't plan on highway driving so I'm thinking a 125-150 would be perfect. I'm going to see how I feel on the bikes at the safety course to try to get an idea of what kind of power would feel the most comfortable. I don't feel like I need a ton but I don't want to get something that leaves me frustrated just trying to get to the gym in the morning.
I've been leaning towards the new lance/SYM 125 havana or cali classics. I'd like something reliable, I'm not a mechanic and I'd like something that isn't (honda/vespa) expensive either.

So I came over from the other site. I'm not a scoot owner yet but I'm doing a lot of research and planning for when I get it.
Passed my motorcycle permit test yesterday, have my motorcycle safety class scheduled for less than 2 weeks from now. I'm registered as an alternate since the classes fill up quickly but a bunch of people cancel or no-show, so I'm hoping I can get in this round.
Anyway, Hi!

Why don't you just call back, tell them the tracking number doesn't work and you haven't gotten your shipment yet? If you really want the scoot and think they are legit just give them a ring. I'd do that before filing a dispute with my credit card company, they're only going to ask if you contacted the seller yet anyway.

I haven't had a transaction with them but I did email a few questions over a few months back and they responded in a reasonable time. I read some less than awesome reviews of their storefront but none (positive or negative) of their shipping side.

He's referring to when Mark Zuckerberg first started developing facebook when he was probably still in his teens he said the first users were dumb f*cks for trusting him with their information. He's since apologized and said he's matured and changed so much, etc. Fortunately none of us have every said anything stupid in the past, whew.

I had a Commodore Vic 20! hah I was totally jealous of my friend's Commodore 64 and TRS80. I'll always remember telling my parents that this other computer had a 340 meg hard drive and there was NO WAY you could ever fill that up if you tried. Now a computer with storage 200x larger than that would be considered small.

Agree that you should get an external backup. At least an external hard drive. Or one of those online storage sites. I think some are free, some are pretty cheap, some are probably pretty costly. As my guru said, "All hard drives fail. And the failure rate of a hard drive is 100%." It's just a question of when will yours die, and will you have backed up your stuff so it's safe, or not. Esp things like photos. Always always do some sort of back up. Even burn cds and keep them at work or send them to an out-of-state friend/family. >'Kat It's true, mechanical stuff breaks at some point. If the files are important always back up, it is so easy to do now. Throw it on dropbox or one of the many online services, you'll be happy you did when you need the files.
