if you are mechanically inclined it's not that hard to split the case, and install a quality crank, as a foundation for the kit. It's a little pricey, but you end up with a good crank and bearings

you'll do better with a big block kit, if you get caught with a 250 engine in a 50, you are in some serious , unlicensed unregistered uninsured motorcycle, some of these cops are pretty smart, a big block conversion with the original engine numbers, is more likely to get by

to be fair now, there are legitimate helmets by quality companies that are made over there, I'm referring to the cheap crap fake cert helmets.Everything seems to be made in China now, it's all about quality control and quality materials

the image that people on Harleys project, or try to act like is not winning over riders either, I was on the scooter the other day, and two guys on a Harley pulled up next to me and started yelling insults, fag, queer, pussy etc, if I could have afforded to go to jail, I would have removed at least one of them from that bike, I'm out here having fun riding my little scooter, I'm out here in the freezing cold, and wind, the same as they are, I have to deal with the same idiots on the road they do, why can't people enjoy riding and worry about the cagers, instead of each other? I'm really sorry you had that happen... Probably the result of too much party smoke and drink... LOL!
I'll always have a soft spot in my old heart for Hog jockeys, having been one for a half-century... Fortunately, I have not had a single negative experience with either chopper-jockeys, baggers or crotch-rocket boys in ten years of riding scooters here. Sometimes I'll fall in with some bikers and be invited to ride with them. Generally a pretty friendly bunch, although I do stay well clear of the organized hard-core gangs in colors. They don't welcome any outside contact whatsoever. I was an outlaw for many years, and respect their code of autonomy... Not to do so these days can get you killed in a New York minute. My friendly reception could be the friendly attitudes are due to my gray hair and arthritis, making it obvious why I'm on a step-through scoot instead of a chopper... LOL! Just ignore the idiots, and enjoy the ride... ANYTHING on two wheels is more fun than a car... Except of course in bad weather... LOL! Ride safe!Leo in Texas I generally try to get along with anyone, but there seems to be a new generation of riders, who think it's cool to act this way

You are required to have a valid license to drive a scooter here,no duis or anything, they really don't pay much attention to speed, if you aren't speeding past cars, they don't seem to care. I had one as swipe cop try to tell me that I had to go the speed limit, but I got that taken care of with his supervisor

there are a lot of reasons someone might pick a 50, lets assume everyone who does must be a drunk who has a DUI right? I have a 50 , I have a perfectly valid license, I have insurance, I also own a functional truck, but I must be DUI who can't drive right? I have fun riding this little scooter around, it only does 45, but it's a challenge to keep it going. Did you ever think maybe they don't have the endorsement to ride a 150 right now? maybe they plan on getting that endorsement later

Ok another fake helmet, probably a fake DOT cert sticker too, the name of the manufacturer is jinhua hongying crafts company, when I looked them up, their primary buisness is making Christmas decorations, and novelties, this is the half helmet that came with my scooter, I don't wear it anyway,I wear a vega, but who knows how many are around? I'm positive a Christmas decoration company is not making real certified helmets

You are better to get a good aftermarket carb, like a keihin, no anti tamper screws, plus the diaphram needle is adjustable, unlike many generic carbs

I just depinned a random Japanese plug from in my garage, to put new pins in the CDI plug, since my pig tails won't freaking be here until January 28th. that seems to solve the issue of the crappy factory pins

since the clutch has to move outward to engage the teeth on the variator ring gear, I don't see any reason it couldn't stick, with chinese parts, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, or you might say if it can go wong, it will go wong , with some of the oddball mechanical failures that i just dealt with on my scooter, which aren't supposed to be possible, well you fill in the rest

if the clutch is sticking, just get another, they are cheap, it should be similar to a 50, pull the cover, and remove the variator, and it should pop right out, the starter is nothing but an electric motor. attached to the clutch assembly.
