Ok another fake helmet, probably a fake DOT cert sticker too, the name of the manufacturer is jinhua hongying crafts company, when I looked them up, their primary buisness is making Christmas decorations, and novelties, this is the half helmet that came with my scooter, I don't wear it anyway,I wear a vega, but who knows how many are around? I'm positive a Christmas decoration company is not making real certified helmets

to be fair now, there are legitimate helmets by quality companies that are made over there, I'm referring to the cheap crap fake cert helmets.Everything seems to be made in China now, it's all about quality control and quality materials

That's true. I do have a modular helmet made in China that got fairly high ratings in various tests and reviews. I thought this was pretty funny though, and kind of humorously inline with the "China just makes junk" mentally. Appropriately carried out in semi-silly fashion by "street gangster"

Well, I did not know that in Missouri, the State does not follow DOT guide lines. Yes, to the State, it only requires one to wear a helmet, but the helmet does not have to be DOT approved. Crazy. But any smart rider, would make sure of the correct specs for safety purposes. But Illinois don't require a helmet at all. Makes no sense.

they passed a law in FL where you can go without a helmet, but you have to have proof of medical insurance, this is so when they scrape you off the road, the tax payers wont get hosed, with your medical bills, it's shown over and over that you will most likely, be much more severely inured. It's your choice if you want to be a vegetable, but the taxpayers shouldn't get the bill for it.

we had an old guy killed on a scooter this weekend, 60 years old, he would always ride really slow around town, had a milk crate on the back, details are sketchy but it sounds like someone just pulled out in front of him, I painted this crap helmet flat white, put his name on it, and I'll ride out and leave a memorial out there for him, he always had one of those cheap china skid lids on, he was ejected and died at the hospital, makes me wonder if he had been wearing a better helmet, if he would be alive, they've tested a lot of those cheapo helmets and they are worthless, just shatter on impact

the danger of many of them, is a lot of scooter wearers are wearing these type of helmets, thinking they are safe, because some company in China made it look like a certified helmet, when in fact it's a piece of crap, I'm about to go ride 20 miles in the cold and lay a memorial, because of the same reason, if they had been selling fake seatbelts to the auto makers, there would be outrage, but they are causing the deaths of an untold number of people, but nothing can or will be done.

The argument of the safety of wearing helmets vs not wearing has been raging on and off for years,,,the non use crowd screams hearing & vision and many other weak points of view is their defense all in the guise of freedom of choice,,,I say let them not wear a helmet,,but provide your own care when injured,,,plain and simple,,,you can't get on a race track anywhere without a helmet in any sanctioned race and for good reason,,,helmets save lives no matter what the opposition says

This is an easy test to perform. 1. Put on a helmet and run your head into a brick wall. 2. Afterwards do the same without a helmet. Now, which hurts more?

The issue wasn't him having a helmet, he did have one,but it was a cheapo China one. What I'm upset about is these companies selling helmets they claim are certified, when they really arent, when these helmets are shown over and over to fail. People are dying because they are lied to about a helmet meeting the certs
