Just give us a shout at 866-478-8700, and ask for Ray and explain the situation to him (mention that I told you) and give him your order number. This will be the fastest way to get this taken care of for you.

Even a crash as slow as 20-25mph can take skin to the bone in certain circumstances. If you want to use sandpaper, you'd have to take a belt sander at 25mph (single direction is the key here) and hold it to your skin for the duration of an 'at speed' slide with an equivalent weight to your own pressing against it to get an idea of what it's like to crash without protection.
It isn't pretty.

Less drag on the engine allows it to spin up faster, which in theory will allow for the engine to reach its power peak sooner thereby increasing actual scooter performance.
Unfortunately most scooter performance products are not built with longevity in mind, but actual overall scooter engine output instead. This is one of those parts.
A fan that moved more air than stock would actually cause more drag on the engine and bring down performance, while increasing cooling and potentially reliability.
I guess it all has to do with the perception of what the word performance implies. Anyway, I'm just trying to provide you an honest assessment of that product.

Alright, I've finally emptied my budget (though I'm getting more computer work all the time so that may change...). I ordered the following from partsforscooters: 169-274 Hoca QMB139 Performance Cooling Fan 1 Hoca QMB139 Performance Cooling Fan $13.99 $13.99 100-143 Front Turn Signal Bulb-Red 2 12v 10w turn signal bulb Red $2.49 $4.98 100-130 Front Disc Brake Caliper 1 GY6 Front Disc brake caliper $34.99 $34.99 I went to order from absolutelyscooters, but their brake caliper was $3 more expensive and didn't include brake pads! I also went ahead and ordered that performance cooling fan I've had my eye on. It's cheaper from partsforscooters than anywhere else I can find it, and it cost as much as a computer cooling fan so I couldn't pass it up. Hopefully it will help keep my engine nice and cool Do you think the caliper will fit, or will I be returning another brake caliper? You probably aren't going to want that fan from us. It's a performance fan in that it decreases the drag on the engine, but it actually doesn't cool an engine quite as well as a stock fan and shroud. If you want to cancel that give us a shout with your order information and we'll square that away for you, provided that we haven't already sent that package out the door this morning. (Because, like I mentioned in that other post, when we are here, we are fast.) Matt

That's why I went with scooter works, And so far I have good thinks to say. It seems to be taking awhile for the items to be approved on Partsforscooters.com Anyone have any experiences with partsforscooters.com Thanks, Ryan. Really? We're slow? Mostly we will get a complaint that we may be too fast. Here is how we work. We are open M-F 9am-6pm EST. If you get your order in before 3:30pm EST during business hours, we'll ship your order that same day. If you place your order after 3:30pm EST on Friday, or over the weekend we will process your order first thing Monday am, and ship your order that day. Hope this helps to clear things up. If you have any questions please feel free to call us, we run our customer service center right in the same building as our warehouse here in FL, and do our best to answer any questions as quickly and as accurately as possible. I am spoiled now getting 12,000 to 15,000 miles from stock belts. 2 belts in just a summer riding season would be intolerable. Well, y'know... Not everybody rolls Aprilia. ;D Matt

Hank, if you don't pick up that Rune, let me know and I'll go get it. They are getting pretty few and far between, and it's already verging on a classic. Knowing you, you probably already know this, but what Honda put into that particular bike is almost mind numbing. Rumor has it that the cost of each bike to Honda was somewhere in the -100K range, and were sold at 27K as a loss leading halo bike. Good on you for finding it. Matt

I bought my powerlink belt from Matt (partsforscooters). Ya, Ya i know they are not the cheapest but i worked for Gates for almost 2 years and i can tell the real deal from the fake knock-off's and it's not easy to tell at first glance. PFS has the real deal (i looked up the date code and it was ran by linda and don - line 2 - 3ed shift) and the price justifies peace of mind. Thanks! It's true we may not always be the least expensive, but oftentimes it is due to the quality of product that we carry. The fake Gates belts coming out of China is kinda of getting to epidemic levels lately... I've seen a lot of fake Bando as well... Be careful out there guys. If you are looking at a brand of parts that has formal representation in the USA (such as Gates USA, or UNI air filters for example), if you find one for super cheap it is usually worth asking some questions. Kevlar belts are a mixed bag. They may last a bit longer but can really chew up your drive faces causing them to groove which then leads to driveline vibrations that can destroy exhausts and gearboxes. The Permium PowerLink without the Kevlar is better for your bike and easier on the bank. The Kevlar belts when they shred are also more prone to wrapping and locking up your clutch along with the rear wheel leading to a crash. This is correct. Kevlar belts can in fact damage the drive faces. Gates themselves makes this same recommendation regarding their own belts as well. YMMV. Matt

5 business days is waaayyy too long for USPS though. Normally USPS can get a package from our warehouse in FL to CA in 3 business days. That is the part that has me a bit concerned as to the whereabouts of wutzthedeal's order. I just want to make sure it isn't hung up somewhere, or get ready to take the proper action with USPS to make sure a customer gets an order.

Really? This isn't good. What's your order number? I'll give USPS a shout and lean on them a little bit for you. Normally they are actually faster for most small orders than UPS, but every now and again they really drop the ball.
