well if you want you can just put the old puck on to ride around to the store and stuff and not bother with the speedometer for a few days
its not like mileage really effects the price of a used scooter

why don't you ask him his birthday and underwear size 😕 anyway it sounds like a short. A short will kill a battery and heat up the fuse box especially if the previous owner put a heavy fuse in. So look for smooshie or ripped wires

I think you will find the square part of the cable is jammed inside that worm gear
and it sounds like you already have a plan of action

next after the dark side tire that I am currently working on I want to make the forks I have plenty of old bed frame to use as material and I have some really nice 6061 extruded aluminum for the real thing but I think I need a drill press to do a proper job, center punch and hand drilling breaks to many drill bits in the iron. It's also a little easier to be precise with the drill press. I would just weld it but I can't weld aluminum with my rig and the entire point is to make a working model I can copy in the aluminum. I should be able to make something much better than stock with just the steel. I am hoping that improvement will be amplified with a better material.

LED lights not very easy to fit in every scooter but if you can find a way you like it basically solves all your illumination problems. It will probably outlast your scooter. The exact light I purchased is no longer available but there are even cheaper ones probably just as good. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EMS9KSI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1a little dirty but a successful installation that really looks good

I found what I think will just barely fit for a scooter dark side tire
This is a normal short R60 in comparison to an R80 much taller. This is a comparison to the profile of a used but almost still good normal scooter tire to the brand new radial . it's actually more round of a tread pattern than what a bike tire becomes after about half it's life is gone

ok, so this is what I consider a basic oil setup all of this stuff together is about $60 it's extremely cheap compared to the $230 for a "good" oil cooler and it is actually does far far better. when I test the oil to see how long it lasts it's at least five times longer. It does double oil capacity and adds a five dollar filter to an oil change. So not going to pay for itself the first year. What it will do however is help your scooter last long enough to actually see some real miles. I had 40000 miles on the first bike engine I put it on. install is motor filter cooler motor and it all goes below the motor beneath the footboard so there is no delay in lubrication

hello all
I know that this is a pretty quiet forum at the moment. That's ok mostly going to use this thread as a sounding board &/or note pad.
I have been stockpiling parts and materials for a little while now as well as altering my stripped down frame. I am not going to be doing anything intentionally cool pure function.
I will be trying
Hossack forks lithium batteries √ dark side tires unconventional boost methods "air amplification" different front wheels oil filtering and cooling systems √ LED lights √ heavy flywheels alternative belt geometry clutch weight cutting √ electric fans new and different motor mount construction
things you think are stupid in other words. So, if you don't have a suggestion or a possible idea you want to see, shush. I will start posting pictures later

just plug that hose its practically worthless the entire hose will have rotted of before you ever need the valve for its intended purpose
a bolt a ball bearing a 22 case a stick a particularly strong booger whatever plugs it up

is it a squishy jam or a hard clonk because you should be able to kick it even if it has a perfect seal. There may be an issue with the starter motor an abrasive in the oil will damage the seal on the starter allowing oil to fill it. It still works when oil filled but it is very weak at high RPM do to friction
