i'm happy to help. there is a gasket on the CVT cover but if you are careful you should be able to save it. you don't have to remove the kickstart for 50cc, it stays with the cover when you remove it. the bendix will lift right off easily, you should be able to turn it by hand and see that it moves outward.

i had one that had a rattle and it turned out to be the oil pump chain was hitting against the the oil pump cover. while you have the side cover off make sure the chain is not too loose and able to tap against anything.

scrappy is my go to for parts when i get a new scooter, they have proven many times over to have good quality parts. ordering is super easy, Mo is very helpful if you have technical issues or need advice on your build, the shipping is fast and i don't think i ever got a damaged, defective or incorrect part from them.

are you using the stock air box? they are not much good for flow once you go with a BBK and larger jets. also the fuel bowl may not be filling up fast enough so when you use up the fuel it falls flat until the bowl refills, check the fuel filter and the vacuum petcock for good flow.

the starter bendix located at top right hand side of the variator is not moving out, they can be sticky in very cold weather, getting a better quality aftermarket one will take care of the issue in most cases, even in a weak voltage condition as long as the starter motor turns at all the gear will move out.

on the taotaos i toss out the stock carb before ever starting it for the first time and i get a better one from scrappydogscooters that has removable bowl and a mixture screw. if it is flat after 3/4 that is the main jet, it is most likely undersized to pass strict emissions standards to get the scooters into the country. i always run into problems with the stock Taotao carbs.

I am new to the forum, i have a new 2016 Icebear Blazer 150 coming this week from MegaMotorMadness.
i will be posting a link to my YouTube video of the unboxing and assembly once it is uploaded.
as a rule i get a new scooter each season, i sell the old one at the end of the riding season usually with a lot of miles on it. the ones that are in less than dependable riding condition get sold off in parts and the rest scrapped like a few Taotaos that i have owned.
i am very good at repairing scooters and doing upgrades to them, this season marks my 5th year riding a scooter, i started out with a 49cc, and moved up to a 150cc.
i get my parts from Scrappydogscooters.com and have never had something come wrong or defective.
i will be happy to contribute to the forum and answer any questions anyone might have in regards to operating and repairing scooters.
