I've bought a new taotao thunder fifty and have idle problems especially within the first 15mins of operation.after elec.choke shuts off the eng will slowly fade and quit unless I continue to jockey the throttle before it completely quits running.i wonder if I can drill out the plug and get access to adjust fuel/air mixture.i also have a problem while running 3/4 throttle to complete w.o.t.at full throttle eng flattens out unless I back off to close to 3/4 throttle.i don't know if it's lean or too rich causing this.i wonder if I can adjust air fuel mix for the wide open position.or do yu have suggestions?? The eng.is crisp on takeoff and midrange but fades at w.o.t.

on the taotaos i toss out the stock carb before ever starting it for the first time and i get a better one from scrappydogscooters that has removable bowl and a mixture screw. if it is flat after 3/4 that is the main jet, it is most likely undersized to pass strict emissions standards to get the scooters into the country. i always run into problems with the stock Taotao carbs.

high performance.kit from j.andj J&J link
What are your speed expectations? Performance ignition components are typically a waste of money.

you don't need K&N. scrappydogscooters sells a nice pod filter that should work well for your setup.
