Hey folks, when you admit you are getting old, call your family in and plan you funeral. I'm 77 and still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up. I'm crazy an I know it. I have a 67 HD FL, a 2010 Tri-Glide and a 2006 Majesty.

Majesty 400, put on new rear tire and rear brake pads yesterday. Pulled front wheel today to replace front tire tomorrow. I am working on a harbor freight tire changer to make it stable to work with. I have a new battery to put in next.

I bought on of those float chargers from Harbor Freight several years ago, put it on a Gold Wing. I did not ride much that year due to back injury. About 6 weeks later I went out to crank it up. NO crank, no lights, no nothing. I looked in the battery, no water, It was dry as the desert in summer time. The $15.00 charger cost me about $60.00. I have purchased a lot of stuff from H/F but that was the worse. I have a air operated lift table that I use to work on my scooters and motorcycles, works great, good investment, for my back problem.

Check the valve Clarence. I think .004 on both valves. This is engine cold room temp. Then get a good compression tester. Spin the engine over with a charged battery. Compression shroud be at least 140 to 150 and up. If the compression is good check the spark to the plug. No spark, start with test light to see if the coil is getting electricity. check both sides of coil. DO NOT stick the test light into the opening where the plug wire comes, it will blow out the bulb in test light. Electricity needs to go in on the + side and come out on the - side a little dimmer. Take an ohm meter and check the ohms between the + and the- side, there will be a little loss. If it is burned out (no ohms) it has an open in it toss it. then check between the + and the middle post where the plug wire comes out. If you get ohms there toss it. The outer winding is shorting against the inner winding. If all this seems good it's probably not the coil. Check the wiring go to and from the CDI. Again disconnect the wires coming out of the CDI unit, take the ohm meter and see if the CDI grounding to the engine case. If not take 1 wire at a time hold 1 end of volt meter to the case, the other to the wire and spin the engine over, it should show some voltage. If not try the other wire. If no voltage the CDI is probably bad. One of the wires has to come from the ign switch, see if you have electricity feeding the cdi. If not run one. Go to this site and look down for wiring diagrams for Linhai 260/300 thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/

Bought mine used about 5 months ago.17000 miles on it finally got around to checking it out the last 2 days. Cleaned the air filters, real easy. Cleand the varater filter real easy. Pulled the front caliper to chek the pads, they were 9 MM thick that;s OK. real easy. Pulled the rear caliper. Real easy after removing thr muffler then the brack lock cable. Pads 4 MM thick. Will order new ones tommorow. Check the coolent, looks new. The service manual that comes with the scooter recomends changing the oil at 3000 miles, but the filter at 12000miles. Does everyone else do that? I am used to changing both at the same time. I like the idea of running away from traffic when I am in front. The look on peoples eyes is asum. Later there is nothin hard about working on it, about like my Socoal Securtry check, not much to it.. Later from the deep sout of Mississippi. Reg

I read a book about Henry Ford were he made the comment. (Ain't no substitute for cubic inches) go with the bigger motor if you can afford it. I got a Linhai 300 and I weight 285 pounds and it does good. Gets 51 to 55 MPG and will go about 70 MPH. Great scooter for the price. I also have a Yamaha Majestry 400, it has a lot more get up and go but cost more when new. I lucked out and got mine used.

Not today but Saturday I pulled the front wheel on my Yamaha Majestry to see if I could find a scraping noise. It has 17,000 miles on it. I bought it cheap because the former owner was told it was the alternator and the fix was about $400. I made him an offer and he took it. Riding it the noise was coming from the front wheel. The speedometer sensor was bone dry. Greased it with white lithium grease, noise gone. About $4 and about an hour work.

I bought a used (2006) Linhai 300 about 4 months ago. Mostly to run around town for small stuff and my wife was in a nursing home on the other side of town. ( Passed away Nov 6) 51 to 55 MPG no problem. 70 MPH on the parkway. I took my gps with me one day too see how far off the speedo was. At indicated 70 the GPS showed 68 MPH and I weigh in at 285 LBS. I am satisfied with this. I have bought a used (2006) Yamaha Majestry 400. Had some minor problems that the owner thought was major so I got it at a good price. So far spent about $4 fixed it myself. . Has more get up and go but about the same top speed. I think the Linhai is a good deal for the money. I own a 67 factory stock Harley Electra-Glide, 2 Gold-Wings and unless I am going a long way I ride either one of the scooters. I will be 73 in 3 weeks and still ride as much as I can. Right now down here in south central Mississippi it is in the high 20s in the mornings and warms up to the high 50s in the afternoons. This goes on for about 6 or 7 weeks then we ride almost every day if no rain. Rain is not the problem, it is the dumm asses in the cars that slip and slide on the wet streets playing with their phones.

AN OLD WOMAN AND HER OLD MULE;
AN OLD WOMAN WALKED UP AND TIED HER OLD MULE TO THE HITCHING POST. AS SHE STOOD THERE, BRUSHING SOME OF THE DUST FROM HER FACE AND CLOTHES, A YOUNG GUNSLINGER STEPPED OUT OF THE SALOON WITH A GUN IN ONE HAND AND A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY IN THE OTHER. THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER LOOKED AT THE OLD WOMAN AND LAUGHED, "HEY OLD WOMAN, HAVE YOU EVER DANCED?" THE OLD WOMAN LOOKED UP AT THE GUNSLINGER AND SAID, "NO,... I NEVER DID DANCE... NEVER REALLY WANTED TO." A CROWD HAD GATHERED AS THE GUNSLINGER GRINNED AND SAID "WELL, YOU OLD BAG, YOU'RE GONNA DANCE NOW," AND STARTED SHOOTING AT THE OLD WOMAN'S FEET. THE OLD WOMAN PROSPECTOR -- NOT WANTING TO GET HER TOES BLOWN OFF --STARTED HOPPING AROUND. EVERYBODY WAS LAUGHING. WHEN HIS LAST BULLET HAD BEEN FIRED, THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER, STILL LAUGHING, HOLSTERED HIS GUN AND TURNED AROUND TO GO BACK INTO THE SALOON. THE OLD WOMAN TURNED TO HER PACK MULE, PULLED OUT A DOUBLE-BARRELED SHOTGUN, AND COCKED BOTH HAMMERS. THE LOUD CLICKS CARRIED CLEARLY THROUGH THE DESERT AIR. THE CROWD STOPPED LAUGHING IMMEDIATELY. THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER HEARD THE SOUNDS, TOO, AND HE TURNED AROUND VERY SLOWLY. THE SILENCE WAS ALMOST DEAFENING. THE CROWD WATCHED AS THE YOUNG GUNMAN STARED AT THE OLD WOMAN AND THE LARGE GAPING HOLES OF THOSE TWIN BARRELS.THE BARRELS OF THE SHOTGUN NEVER WAVERED IN THE OLD WOMAN'S HANDS, AS SHE QUIETLY SAID, "SON, HAVE YOU EVER KISSED A MULE'S REAR END?" THE GUNSLINGER SWALLOWED HARD AND SAID, "NO M'AM... BUT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO. THERE ARE FIVE LESSONS HERE FOR ALL OF US:
1 - Never be arrogant. 2 - Don't waste ammunition. 3 - Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are. 4 - Always make sure you know who has the power. 5 - Don't mess with old people; they didn't get old by being stupid.
Enjoy the view.

I bought a Linhai 300 about 3 months ago used. Before I bought it I checked to see if there were any dealers in the U.S.A. There are several. They will ship and not much work is required to put it together. The tires mostly. Mine has a 275 cc liquid motor looks like a Yamaha YP 250. Mine has 9000 miles on it and runs great. I weight 283 pounds and it will go 70 mph. Around town I get 51-55 mpg. Rides good too. Check them out.

I was listening to the radio news today. The news man was telling about an armed robbery. The lady cashier got shot. The doctors saved her life but the bullet is in her yet. Where is a woman's yet?

I have a Linhai 300. It did not have a tachometer. I bought one off E-Bay for $8.96 free shipping. Finally got around to installing it this afternoon. Simple installation. And it works too!
