Sorry I didn't state this earlier, I don't know if it's going to change any further posts, but it takes about 3-4 days before the battery drains.

Thanks, that is the diagram I'm looking for. Off the top of my head I'm thinking mine might be different but I can't be sure till I get back to R/R. I got the battery charging, been cutting grass for a while now it's time to take the better half out for dinner. I'll try both suggestions tomorrow and see how it goes, thanks for the info.

I just saw brinkkl started a post that started to sound like a somewhat similar problem to one I'm experiencing now. It seems this has been a problem with my scoot for some time, but it keeps draining batteries. At first I thought after a couple of years my battery would just no longer hold a charge, so earlier this week I bought another battery. Well, I went down this morning and this one didn't have enough juice to turn it over, after I bought a 9ah for a little more staying power. My voltage off the stator reads the correct voltage and rises with the rpm's and I've tried 3 different regulators and I'm still only getting the battery voltage when checking at the battery. One thing I've been curious about is whether the wiring to my connector to the regulator is in the correct set-up. I checked the continuity on those wires and they're good. Does anyone have any advice on troubleshooting a R/R 4 pin or what the wiring looks like going into it. Let me add I have also replaced the stator. I've got the battery charging so I may be able to get around to checking other DC operated items for shorts.

Thanks, in the beginning I was one of those thinking about how fast could I get it to go, but after seeing some of the posts from some the sages on this forum, I went the path of moderation. i figured it would be better to get the most out the powerband before hitting that 8k rpm. I have upgraded the clutch and bell with a NCY 2k clutch and spring, 24mm carb, performance intake, red Uni dual stage filter, changed over to sliders, and a variety of jets to find what A/F set-up she likes to run on. Every time I'm doing some maintenance to her one of my friends will ask, "What're you doing to it now?" My nephew just got a QMB139 and when he talks about rodding it up, I tell him to take it slow, start with small changes like rollers, air flow, something simple before pee-peeing it away.

Congratulations, I reached 15k on my 150 this Thursday, I have kept the internals to original state, but keeping up with the maintenance is a good hobby for me. With summer just setting in I may reach 20 before its gets cold again.

Thanks, it wasn't my 1st choice, I wanted a 16" model like the Pacifica but after tinkering around with her, I'be grown to really like it. I've got an updated pic in the "Show Us Your Scoot Section." The internals of my engine are still stock but I've added Uni dual stage filter, upgraded carb, Casoli variable timing cdi, orange coil wire, Iridium plug and performance exhaust. It won't do GEH's 72 mph, but I get a GPS verified 65, I'm working on it.

Hey all you Scoot-Heads, I needed to change my left control switch with lever out after the last tech I let touch it broke the lever bracket on it. Oh he promised to make good on it, but he tends to get amnesia, which is another reason I won't take it back to him. Well anyway, I'm trying to get her set so she'll pass the preinspection for licensing. After searching a few sites I finally came across one that looked like it would work on my scoot and placed the order. It arrived and all the connectors had the same number of connections, but some of the wires were different colors. I plugged it in and got it put back together, then I hit the switch and knew something may be off kilter. As soon as I turned the key and got power my headlights were on, mine are AC powered lights, so I drove off to check her out. After just a couple of stops my battery was kaput and it didn't take two guesses to figure out why. I checked the charging system just to be sure and everything on the stator was putting out the proper voltage, but I noticed my lights intensity was not fluctuating with the rpm's and my horn sounded like it was underwater. I still had the old switch and I knew some of the wires were different colors, but did they have the same function? I took the new switch apart and examined it next to the old one, mapped out what went where and what connector position went with what wire and the corresponding switch. Eureka, there it was, it seems that the 2 connections in position #2 and #3 were grounds, except one was an AC ground and the other a DC ground. I had a pick tool so I went freed the pins from their position and swapped them around to match original connector and everything is as it should be, at least until my new intake comes in. Note to self, never again order a part from a company that has a 5-7 business day order placement. I ordered the switch 2 days after the intake, got the switch in 2 days, just now getting confirmation my intake has been shipped, oh well.

I have one of .8 gal tanks and even when mine was running bad, I got 60+ mpg's, could you have isuues with valve settings or something else affecting your engine performance. I currently get at least mpg.

I purchased a 2014 Peace Industry Bashan BLX 150cc 1P57QMJ in October of 2014, I currently have 14.5 k miles on it. It's only broken down on me once and that was because the tech that worked on it placed the wrong size belt on it and it shredded it. I've gone through 3 mufflers on it, the cheaper stock brand, because it was running lean and neither of the 2 guys I had working on it ever deduced that, that was the problem. With me being a newb, I totally trusted their advice and within the first year I had it, each guy had it in the shop for a month waiting on parts and repairs. Needless to say I thought I had better learn how to fix my baby myself. Since then, and thanks to this forum, I've learned to do the basic maintenance and most repairs myself. Back to your survey: - I change the oil every 600-700 miles
- Changed to a 115 mm variator @ 1000 miles
- Changed out Stator and Starter Drive due to failure
- Replaced all vacuum and fuel lines due to cracking @ 10k miles
- Currently using a Casoli variable timing cdi and orange performance coil
- Installed a set of Pirelli SL26 tires @ 3k miles, will replace the rear shortly but still going at 14.5k miles
- Replaced R/R @ 13.7k miles
- Replaced carb after first couple of thousand miles for a carb with adjustable A/F mixture screw
- Had issues with burping at wot, tried various set-ups( changing jets, cdi's, spark plugs, valve timing, switched to manual fuel cut-off), till I finally figured out it was float bowl that needed adjusting
- Now I see I will have to order a new throttle cable
- All and all, what was once a scoot that kind of randomly ran within its powerband, now can run smoothly and powerfully getting to about 65 GPS verified mph within the 8k rpm range and I'm loving it. It's a big difference from when I first got it, but just like any journey, It is the Ride that makes it all worth it. It's a pretty day here, so I'm about to go down and replace the flywheel, check my valves, upjet her by a couple of sizes and change the variator weights and see how she does from there. Keep the rubber side down and have a good day.

Currently in my state, SC, a 50cc does not require license, I'm not exactly sure about the insurance side of it. Everything above 50cc does require license, registration and insurance. I got a 150cc because I am planning to move on to a bigger bike and this way when I do I'll have all my paper work in order. I also got into scooters because of gas prices and wanting to hold down mileage on my truck. I use it for around town errands and travel back and forth to work when weather permits. I needed the 150cc, cause let's face it, cagers are sometimes a dangerous group to be around if you can't keep up with traffic and the roads I usually ride are 35-55 mph. i can understand the issues of why someone can only get a 50cc and it's mainly due to either budget, license issues, or just plain old choice. No matter what you ride.., Be careful, keep your eyes open and keep your ride mechanically sound and above all else enjoy the ride.

You also detach the rear shock from the swingarm . this allows the swingarm to move up and down on the axle . Thanks for the advice, I may try that next time.., but it was good practice working on it anyway.

Well guys, the parts came in and the weather was nice enough for me to tackle the starter drive installation. Only issue I had doing the disassembly was with the rear swing arm and the spindle, so I went up to the newly opened Harbor Freight and got a 3 jaw bearing puller, and finally got it separated. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I measured my bolts and marked that measurement on the corresponding hole on the crankcase cover so I wouldn't get any mixed when reassembling the cover. Well as suspected the starter drive was shot, installed the new one, put everything back together fine. When it came time to change out stator, I found out the one shipped to me has a smaller connector than what I have on my scoot, so I'll be returning that one, but anyway finally got everything together and pushed start button and she fired right up. I would just like to say thanks to all the guys that participate and share their experiences here, it has helped me to appreciate my little 150 a little more and I also like being able to take care of those little problems that might arise from time to time. Thanx ,

Well guys parts haven't come in yet and I want to ride. My need for the electric start was that when I took the CVT cover for the first time, I didn't realize that I had to be very careful replacing the cover and watch out for my kickstart gears. Well I got them misaligned somehow and when I had to resort to kickstarting the kickstart was not engaging the idle gear. So when my parts didn't show I figured I needed to fix my kickstart anyway just in case something like this happens again. well I went online watched a vid on the YouTube and put those suckers back in alignment. She started up on the first kick.., as the old saying goes, "Out of necessity .., ." Still I'll keep you posted on the electric start part of it, I'm off for a little ride for now.
