Hey all you Scoot-Heads, I needed to change my left control switch with lever out after the last tech I let touch it broke the lever bracket on it. Oh he promised to make good on it, but he tends to get amnesia, which is another reason I won't take it back to him. Well anyway, I'm trying to get her set so she'll pass the preinspection for licensing. After searching a few sites I finally came across one that looked like it would work on my scoot and placed the order. It arrived and all the connectors had the same number of connections, but some of the wires were different colors. I plugged it in and got it put back together, then I hit the switch and knew something may be off kilter. As soon as I turned the key and got power my headlights were on, mine are AC powered lights, so I drove off to check her out. After just a couple of stops my battery was kaput and it didn't take two guesses to figure out why. I checked the charging system just to be sure and everything on the stator was putting out the proper voltage, but I noticed my lights intensity was not fluctuating with the rpm's and my horn sounded like it was underwater. I still had the old switch and I knew some of the wires were different colors, but did they have the same function? I took the new switch apart and examined it next to the old one, mapped out what went where and what connector position went with what wire and the corresponding switch. Eureka, there it was, it seems that the 2 connections in position #2 and #3 were grounds, except one was an AC ground and the other a DC ground. I had a pick tool so I went freed the pins from their position and swapped them around to match original connector and everything is as it should be, at least until my new intake comes in. Note to self, never again order a part from a company that has a 5-7 business day order placement. I ordered the switch 2 days after the intake, got the switch in 2 days, just now getting confirmation my intake has been shipped, oh well.

Nice lookin scoot!
Love the color. Almost like GEH's scoot (the fastest 150cc scoot east of the Mississippi).

Thanks, it wasn't my 1st choice, I wanted a 16" model like the Pacifica but after tinkering around with her, I'be grown to really like it. I've got an updated pic in the "Show Us Your Scoot Section." The internals of my engine are still stock but I've added Uni dual stage filter, upgraded carb, Casoli variable timing cdi, orange coil wire, Iridium plug and performance exhaust. It won't do GEH's 72 mph, but I get a GPS verified 65, I'm working on it.
