2006 Tank purchased new and still with me. Haven't posted much because if you service the GY6 and don't rod the wizz out of it ultimately you could get this out of it..... Just turned today.

I assume a 50, since that speedometer show 80 km/h is in red. Negatory. As my post said it is a GY6, and with my butt on it for that many miles and wrenching on it since 2006 I should know. It IS NOT a 50.

The GY6 comes stock as a 50cc, 125cc, 150cc, and many more, though most fall into these three categories. If you check the lower front left side of the engine, you'll find a stamp on a GY6 that tells you everything about it. The most common are 139QMB which is a 50cc, and 157QMJ which is a 150cc.
25000 on a 150cc with no major work needed shows you've maintained her well. 25000 on a 50cc shows you know how to ride properly as well as maintain her. Either way, congrats!

Good for you, and congratulations. 25,000 miles is indeed a milestone on any gy6. Think you hit the nail on the head when you said...."if you service the GY6 and don't rod the wizz out of it ultimately you could get this out of it". Totally agree with you. Keep on scootin'.

Congrats on 25k-- a milestone I'll never hit! I'll be lucky to get over 15k on any 139qmb engine, changing the oil every 650 kilometers. I'd need MOSTLY luck, and some skill, to reach that.

Lol, I doubt my 150 will get anywhere close to that. I have about 4000 and it runs strong, but I ridea the thing pretty hard at full throttle a lot. That's some impressive mileage.

Even though my 139qmb engine is considered a GY6, when I first got my scooter GY6 was 99% of the time referred to as Chinese engines 125cc and up. It's rarely called GY6 50 in forums either when referring to the 139qmb. I also think wikipedia has changed the description over time.
Parts sellers describe their parts a lot better nowadays than back then. If you were looking for parts for a 50cc it was (and still is, imo) better to search the engine model than type in GY6 (for a 50) or GY6 50cc. Nowadays you can search "GY6 50" and get away with it. I know better, but back then, with a part labeled GY6-- odds are it was for a 125cc and up engine. It just takes a little common sense, but like I said, we have it much better today than 8 years ago-- not only finding parts, but they're labeled and described much better by most places. Ebay is definitely where you need to watch what you do.

Thought I would post one of my updates for fuel delivery issues. Over the Tank's life I had gone through three of the crappy vacuum fuel valves. I replaced the orginal style with one of the newer ones. In this case I stopped at a small engine repair shop and picked up this Mikuni for $14 last time I needed one (didn't want to wait to order one). So for the last three years, no fuel problems ever.

On my scooter since the tank is above the engine I just went to a manual petcock and got rid of the lame vacuum one

Congratulations, I reached 15k on my 150 this Thursday, I have kept the internals to original state, but keeping up with the maintenance is a good hobby for me. With summer just setting in I may reach 20 before its gets cold again.

I think you deserve a pat on the back as well. 15k on a 150, tells me you are doing something right.... not only are you keeping up with the maintenance, but you're probably operating it, as was intended. I noticed neither you, nor tankcommander, had anything in your posts similar to "gps verified 65 mph"......maybe some of the newer riders will notice this also, and take a minute to think about it, before they pee-pee their money away on racing do-dads. Anyway, congratulations to you too..
