Ive read a strap wrench works great to hold the variator so you can just loosen it with a socket and breaker bar. No chance of breaking any fins that way. They only cost like 15 bucks and it should work for the clutch too

I think im gona spring for it. Only 66 bucks! the silencer is removable too so itll be loud like I like it haha. I may have to bend it a little and use some sheet metal to rig up the mount though because it seems like its designed for the single shock models and mine has two shocks and the right side swingarm. It does t seem like that would be all too difficult though. Im not sure if I wana get blue to match my bike or just get the silver...I think the silver one looks pretty clean

So I'm thinking about a new exhaust, mostly just for sound and looks but i wouldn't mind a bit more performance. Anyways im not too excited about any of the exhausts on eBay n Amazon, but I've found some amazing deals on aliexpress. I feel kinda hesitant about ordering from there even though some of the sellers have good ratings, has anyone on here used aliexpress? If its not sketchy to order I wana get this maybe m.aliexpress.com/item/32373534025.htmlIt looks decent, and the header pipe isn't the kind that has the choke point it looks like. What do you guys think about this exhaust, has anyone ever tried them?

So I was trying out a 110 jet to see if it would add any benefit, but as I was getting it snug in the carb(hardly any pressure) the very corner of the screw slot chipped(should have used a thicker flathead) a tiny bit, a very tiny piece.. Tried it anyways and it seemed rich so I went back to the 108. Just curious to know if a veeery tiny chip off the corner of the screw slot would change how the jet works.

Rejetted my main from its stock 105 to a 108. First time ive really gotten into my bike and played with it im stoked, it pulls so much better now. Also drilled out my af screw and richened it up a bit. Minecame super lean probably to pass californias crazy standards, its much happier after I richened the mix up. Much more power. im wondering if I should try the 110, gota do some plug chops I guess. Love tinkering on my new bike, so much less frustrating than working on my volvo haha, and I can actually afford gas and parts for it.

Success! took apart my carb and it only had a 105 main so I put in a 108. Then I drilled out the plug for the af screw and played with it. It seems happier, definitely way more responsive. Didnt have enough road to really test out my top speed, but regardless it seems happier and im less paranoid of it running too lean and hot. Gonna test the top speed when I get the chance and ill see if it made a difference. If not would it be a good idea to try the 110? My airbox is stock, everything stock rly... what tends to be a good main jeg size for a stock setup. I have the 108 which im using, a 110, 114, 115 and more.

Ya, I was gona order one. But if its only the AF plug I can drill it out in like a minute. I already have a box of jets so I'll be good to go, no point in wasting 25 bucks if all it takes is a drill. I'll freak out if they sealed the float bowl though haha. I'll see tomorrow.

Well I hope so. I've heard of people getting ones with the float bowl riveted on! I'll see tmrw when I take it off. I would like a tach though, how would I wire those up?

No tach unfortunately. I'm just gona play with the jets. I'm Gona have to drill out the AF screw..and most likely make some slots in the screws for the float bowl. I'm praying once I take out the carb that the bowl screws aren't tamper proof, I know my AF screw is plugged so I'm guessing the rest is tamper proof. Such a pita

No mods yet. It only has 400 or so miles so I doubt the belt is an issue. I bought a box of jets but i haven't changed em yet, gona have to deal with my tamper proof carb which I'm not looking forward to. As it is I can't even adjust the AF mixture iys so annoying. Haven't played with the variator yet.

So I have a completely stock SSR x6. It has a 150cc gy6 with fat 10" dual purpose tires. 130 10 front 120 10 rear. It seems to pull well all thru the revs, pulls up hills well, can hit 45 on hills, but on a flat it just won't go past about 52mph indicated. I feel like I can squeeze more out but idk how. Is it just my knobbies slowing me down? Or could I need different weights? Idk what weights it has stock haven't opened it up yet. Im thinking maybe I'm lean at wot maybe, when I checked the plug it was mostly white with just a tiny spot of tan. It just seems to fall flat at 50. Seems like most ppl get a tiny bit more than I do. Do u think its an a/f issue possibly? It has plenty of power just lacking a bit on the top end. Any input is much appreciated.

Was just cruising eBay and saw an oko variator115mm for like 35 bucks. I wonder of its any good. I hear good things about DNC, they have it fr around the same price too. There's tons of hocas but I hear they suck now. Does the DNC or oko measure up to ncy or Dr pulley? Anyone tried an oko variator?
