Don't leave food in the seat compartment if you have a bear problem

Lol, well I wouldn't notice any soot as my stock exhaust was black haha. But I seem to remember seeing the ring. And I have the better gasket coming. I'm go a take it of tmrw as my mount gets in the way of my oil dipstick so I'm gonna grind it down a bit. While its off I'll make sure its there. Thanks for the info

Hmmm, it may have been haha idk. It didn't seem like there was anything there, but I didn't know there was a grooved area. It looked even if I remember correctly idk maybe I'm just blind haha.

Oh ya and the header pipe is non restrictive, just one solid diameter all thru unlike the stock one which gets smaller by the engine side

Got the exhaust! Like a week after ordering it came fast. Its made for the single shock bikes but I barely got it to clear my right shock. Only problem is the mount gets in the way of opening my oil dipstick because it sits further out due to my swingarm..so I'm Gina grind it down a bit so it clears no biggie. Anyways its nice and loud, has a good deep growl it sounds soooo much better than stock. Only weird thing is I asked if the silencer is removable and they said ya...but I got one with what looks like a screw in silencer..but there's already one inside welded on which looks the exact same as the extr one...its loud as heck tho and you can see straight through there's like no restriction. I'll post some pics tomorrow maybe. Overall I'm satisfied, pretty easy to install, just had to bend the ring mount thing a bit, and it sounds aaaawesome and it looks good too. overall its definitely worth 60 bucks

Soooo, I swapped my exhaust for a nice open one, but when I took off my old one I was bemused to find that it did not have an exhaust gasket to start with...dubbya t EFF? Its been running OK...I just put on my new one for now until I can get one shipped but I'm kind of annoyed just one more part I have to order grrr. I'm not gonna like blow my engine up right? Its been running for like 650 miles from the factory without a darn gasket!

Although I doubt they do too much, they have the little fan scoops that usually cost like 12 bucks for just over 2 dollars shipped on aliexpress. For that price I had to go for it. they just look kinda neat even if they are a gimmick, and for that cheap who cares! Just had to inform you all, in case you were inclined to waste like 12 bucks

Lol...I take it apart when I work on it obviously. I just dont wanna have to deal with a manual petcock if I dont need to as it would be kind of a pain to access. And knowing how forgetful I am I'd forget about it all the time

I may do that, but my scoot is kind of a pain to get under, theres a rubber skirt n stuff I have to manuever around. If I get any problems with my new valve ill probably just do that though

Meh, nvm I just got a uni type filter with a 45 degree bend. If it clears the crossbar I can just attach it directly to the carb right? No need for a velocity stack or PVC tube right?

I ordered a new exhaust so I want to use a cone or uni for my intake. I was wondering if 1. These cheap come filters work well, and 2. If there is paper or foam under the steel mesh and if I have to oil the mesh cone types. This is the kind I'm looking at. m.ebay.com/itm/GY6-125cc-150cc-Scooter-Moped-Air-Filter-Cleaner-42mm-/261016377820?nav=SEARCH These just seem easier and cheaper than having to deal with foam uni if they are paper filters. Just looking for some experience and opinions on these kinds

So I live in santa cruz california by the beach and decided I needed some cheaper transportation than my volvo...so I bought an ssr x6 150 zuma clone and so far I love it! I haveike 650 miles on her and everything is going great, tops out around 55 but thats perfect for around my small town, everything is so close here and the roads are all 35 mph roads so as long as its not raining a car is pretty pointless. Ive been enjoying rides along the coastal curves with my friend who has a cbr600, were a pretty bad lookin crew out there haha. Anyways greetings everyone, this forum has been a great resource for me as I will be doing all my own maintenance and riding it hard so I need all the info I can get. Safe riding
