I currently have one of those generic "free flowing" exhausts sold online and the sound is actually quite nice. The system offers good low end, quick(er) mid range, and tapers off on the high end. My curiosity stems from the fact that I happened to ride a completely stock scooter that is the exact make/model as mine. His scooter seems to have the same top end ~60 - 65 mph, while mine has quicker mid range: say from 40 - 55 mph. We both seem to have decent bottom end speed. So I was wondering if I took a 50cc muffler that was gutted would I be able to achieve the same performance, without having the extreme LOUDNESS, that my "free flowing" exhaust has? Since these "Hi-Perf" mufflers don't seem to do very much over "stock" mufflers. Oh Its too LOUD like mine. Gotcha Without pics to see you saying the oe Fiddy Can is longer/larger, gutted should be quiter than the free flow fart can. Probably. This is the only pic I have of a OE 150, is the Top one. The Head Pipe is my concern. its tinny and Smaller than your exhaust port, not good. Do you have Stock Intake? You Wont get much out of Just a Exh mod. Its All About the Combination. Intake and Exhaust

It would be interesting to see some results comparing stock, free-flow, and 2T expansion chambered exhuasts on a 4T. A 2-T wouldn't work at all. Two Smoker Pipe tech is Deeep. It works with Sound Waves and Heat Medium's, Sound works better within higher heat mediums. The System Scavenges (sucks) Exhaust and Helps (sucks) the Incoming Charge from The Transfer Ports. The Sound is controlled by Two or more Cones of various Angle and Lengths with a Medium (Chamber) of Various Lengths and end'd with a Skinny Stinger. Sometime's a Silencer on the End also of various lengths for different tunes. Short generally is Low-Mid Power. Here is a Working Fatty, Stinger on the end is tiny compared to the Exh. Port . This motor is so built around a working pipe its simply Wont Run Without it. Port Timing, Squish Angle, are Altered for a Low-Mid range Power Monster. A Shorty Ti Silencer was fitted to the Stinger

Hi all, I have a gutted muffler that was originally for a 50cc motor. I am wondering if, assuming it will bolt up to the head, a gutted muffler for a 50cc will provide proper back pressure for a 150cc motor? 1) Will the gutted muffler create too much back pressure? NO 2) Will the gutted muffler be about the same back pressure as a stock muffler? NO 3) Will the gutted muffler have not enough back pressure? Not Relevant. I would love to hear the feasibility of this idea, and your thoughts on this, thanks.

I dunno if the Fiddy fart Can gunna fit a One Fiddy. But All that Back pressure stuff has Much More Effect on a Two Smoker. Sound Waves in Heat Mediums work With Back Pressure to Scavenge Exhaust. Jetted Correctly yo can run on the Head Pipe Alone if ya wanted. The Gutted Can has Removed Most of the Back Pressure. I dunno why anyone does this and Skips the Head Pipe is Smaller than the Exhaust Port and Most Likely the Flange is Welded Off Center Blocking More of the Exhaust Port. You Squirting into a Straw. Free Flow Systems are Available with Larger Stainless Dia. Head pipes for under $80 bucks. Just Going to Annoy the Neighbors with a Gutted Fart Can

Go with Scrappy Dog Scooters. Their standard 150cc carburetor is well worth it. The jets are accessible, and the needle is adjustable. I'm assuming you have a 157QMJ engine. Thanks for the reply! Yes, you assumed correctly, I have the 157QMJ engine. Do you have any personal experience with one of the carbs from Scrappy Dog? I have ordered parts from them in the past and have never had any issues with their parts, but it would be great to hear some first hand experience with this particular part. I also saw that they have a 26mm carb available too... Thats the first I've seen a carb that size listed, although I've seen the 30mm ones before. Any thoughts in that? Just curious... Thanks again! I am enjoying the 26mm from Scrappy's. I have Intake and a Free Flow exhaust. The 30mm will be Drastically Over Carb'd on a Stock Internal 150. Flushing a Toilet into a Straw.

Here is what your dealing with, The Engine can only Demand so Much Air and Fuel. Beyond that you going backwards. I do Not have these Numbers, Yet! At or above a 26mm this Already OutFlows What the Engine Can Use. So what is this going to do for me, Your Going Backwards, Especially with a Stock Motor with Stock Exhaust. Your Dumping a Toilet into a Straw, Extremely Important to Keep Velocity Up that Translates into Cylinder Charge/Fill/Mix. I love to find the K&N booth at the Trade show's, they have that nifty display with the pin pong ball floating in the air with a OE filter not moving the Ball, More Flow Right? This Question Blows there mind. The OE Filter Already Outflows what the Engine Can Use So What will this do for me? Uhhhhhhhhhh, duhhhhhhhh, You can wash the K&N. Ive see that crap on the Dyno and Loose 1 1/2 hp on a 600 sport bike. Yes it will start and run, go down the road and back but if we put her on the dyno bethca she Loses HP and Torque.

Just swapped my stock 24mm carburetor on my 150cc for a 30mm carburetor form GY6 Racing Team. Give me a few days to fine tune it, and then I'll have some statistics on performance. Standby for the results..... Yes Size matters. Stock Motor?

got the power issue sorted.. it was shorting out from a loose connection.. so the choke and the headlights are functional again.. tried tuning the carb to match the uni filter. had an jet in.. tried an 80.. did the same thing.. it can't handle wide open throttle.. it bogs down.,. if i let up.. it goes ok.. and once its at speed it can go full throttle ok.. so then put a 78 jet.. its a little better.. thinking this uni just is going to be hard to get tuned for my bike.. which sucks.. i suppose ill keep trying smaller jets.. before i give up and just go to the standard airbox. That Engine is SCREAMING for More Fuel. Uni really easy to tune Bro. Were here to help, please give Her More Fuel.

Debunk all this net Bunk and Try to Blow it Up. Wire the Throttle Wide Open and Flat them Valves till they Dump. WFO Make it go so Lean Your Trying to Seize the Piston. Hers my Favorite. Overfill the Oil and WFO and lets see what happens Other than Puke Oil everywhere. Wanna see how good your Oil is, Drain it then WFO and lets see what happens

Oh no don't get me wrong I always want all my stuff in top working order. I didn't explain my question correctly. What I ment was will it be ok you ride a few times before the new one comes. It's my work transportation and my wife needs the car this weekend. I just want to be reassured that I'm not going to do irreversible damage from a few rides. Ride it I did just baked the Rubber till it was brittle and fell apart, sat there and smokes after shut down for awhile. Wont Hurt a dmn thing other than the above. I was gunna drive a long spike through the thing but couldn't find anything, Shooting it with a gun up the butt almost happened The Worst that may happen is it clogs itself up and won't run, Shoot it with the Gun
