Rocky Ninja is a Kawasaki and a 4 cylinder. Burgman is a 400cc Suzuki thumper. It feels a lot more like a dirt bike engine at least somewhat only not as mean...
your mechanic is confused... It is bullet proof

I wouldn't adjust the valves if they don't need adjustment. Check your vent hose then valve cover gasket then head and base gaskets for leaks. If it doesn't leak that much just wait for your rebuild

if you want to keep the uni and you hav an underseat compartment run an iintake line from the carb to the inside of the compartment and atach the uni inside . remember to drill 1 inch holes around the side of the compartment and leave some space for the intake line to move with the suspension . this will work great and you should keep most if all water from reaching the filter. also th engine heat will not affect the performance since as you ride the heat will mostly be deflected towards the rear of the scoot. Sorry but after all that you have just removed storage space and made a huge airbox. Might as well just use the stock one and keep the storage. I don't want an oily Uni in my storage compartment spreading oil all over my groceries and important papers. I have run K&N and Uni filters in stock air boxes for a long time with good results...

Sounds too rich to me. Does it smell like gas if you take the plug out after its running?

You can't fix your scooter by poll, sorry. Have you checked your valves? What did you set them to? Is the plug wet after it cranks and cranks? Did you check for spark?

Oil does matter. The oil for weed wackers us thicker than oil designed for oil injection scooters. Really. I use synthetic or synth blend. Cheap oil not only doesn't lubricate as well it leaves more deposits. So if you like pulling your head to decoke it by all means use the cheap stuff...
