So lately the past few days when I start the scoot after sitting for a while till its cold it will make a popping noise when starting, usually a couple pops then starts right up just fine. Then when warm it does not pop on starts. Runs fine, no notice in performance loss or anything else funny. Not sure how to go about tackling this weird issue.

You could have found that tripletree on ebay, but that does you no good now. Roketa, the brand, is just the plastic farings. The frames, and engine parts are all shared by various "GY6" models. There are variations, but all you need to do is remove and measure your current one then find the same one. Scrappy sells them and I know a lot of people order a lot from scrappydogs without any issues and always hear about how scrappy only has high quality stuff.

You should have asked where to buy parts . to be honest , if you find a good eBay seller , you will get good results. Much better then going to some company like that . and most of us know some good ones. There are also good parts stores that are not on eBay. I've seem to notice that most of the more reputable sellers also have ebay stores where they have a satisfaction percentage of 99%+. Thats why I just shop parts on ebay.

Hey, good luck with everything. Nice that you did that for your brother. I had a question: How did you get the shocks out of that triple tree? I was trying to get them out of one just like that, and I couldn't do it, for the life of me. How far open do you have to pry the sleeves on the triple tree? If you put a flathead in there angled down or up so its not pointing at the shock, just bang it a few times with a mallet to get the head between the opening to the sides of the shocks then it should slide out downwards. Of course you have to remove the top nuts on the shocks momentarily and the 4 bolts to the sides of the shocks.

Well of the two sellers on craigslist, one isnt responding and the other bike i went to look at is still fully assembled. The one that isnt responding looks more like my bike, the other bike i went to look at is slightly different than mine. I cant tell 100% the forks are the same because it has all the plastic still attached. He wants me to take the whole thing not just a part though, it has no title so im weary. I tried straightening the tree by using a handle from a heavy floor jack thats about 30 inches long. I felt some movement and used my whole body weight at the end of the shaft to try and straighten it. There is still about a 3 degree difference in the shock angles. I dont think its going to get straightened. Having a spare frame and engine is great dude, even if the tripletree isn't the same you can swamp engines. It's actually simpler to swap engines than to swap tripletrees lol

In all the repairs to my front ends I've done, the shocks always seem to be fine, the worst I've had is a broken oil seal. The tripletrees seem to be butter in comparison, wish the entire frames were made as well as the shocks lol

Ok so i took the front tire off. and removed the shocks. The shocks dont appear to have any runout. However if you look at the 2nd picture you can see the difference between the left and right shock angles. Im assuming its due to a bent fork. Im unsure if the frame was bent. The fork itself is about 45 new not including shocks. Theres two 150cc scoots on craigs, dont know if the parts will fit, theyre both chinese What do you guys think? Take the shocks out and lay them side by side, if they are both straight and good then it is your tripletree. I would get a good one but if you can't you can try and straiten the tripletree. You would need spare shocks or something with the same diameter to put in the holes so you can bang the thing attached to straiten the holes to the correct angles.

I had this happen once. Find a clothes hanger and push the lever on the sensor down inside the gas tank, the needle on the meter should also go down, then the lever will be pushed back up to the top of the gas level by the gas and read the correct level again.
Dealers usually do not catch this issue because they literally only put in enough gas to start it up, if they even do.

Plug was fouled very black with soot on the part thats not in the hole. Weird. Why is it all black? Cleaned it last week. You didn't tighten it enough. Once you get to as tight as you can by hand, use your wrench to tighten it a quarter turn more.

I have been looking for a chart with all the expected usage of parts in mileage or time or both. I know manufacturers usually have their own but I would like a general charts for all parts. If it comes to it I'll make one in excel but I need all the data.

Sorry to hear that man. Gotta be careful, I mean these are just 2 wheel death traps afterall!
The steering column is usually pretty simple, and once you heal up you should give it a look again if you feel like you want to. I personally wouldn't let anything that didn't kill me change me or my mind about doing something haha, I'm a stubborn guy though.

I usually start adjusting from 2 turns out on the carb, 1.5 being the minimum for me. It really depends on your regular weather and conditions. 1.5 might be perfect for you but I usually keep screwing until there is no change in rpms or it starts getting lower then go back a little bit.
Take the fuel sensor out and turn the key to on, the needle should go up and down when you move the lever/floater. If it doesn't the sensor is dead.

Sounds like dirt in the idle jet in the carb or bad mix screw setting. try a known working carb if you have one in another scoot, or clean the carb.

If you manage to create an EMP device for your scoot to disable cellphones from cagers, let me know, I'm willing to give you money for the gadget. Sounds like a bad idea. I know people who use phones and drive and they call me grandpa for getting mad at them for doing it. From what I've seen if a cagers phone stops working or drops a call they will not stop driving or trying to use the phone. Instead they will take even more of their attention off the road to tend to their precious glass bricks....
