Have you checked your carb for fuel leaks? or maybe yoru fuel line is too thin? When I upgraded to my big bore kit the regular vacuum petcock wouldn't get me enough fuel so I converted to manual and haven't had fuel delivery issues since. It could also be possible there is a leak in the carb drain hose or around the bowl somewhere, this could also cause the symptoms you are describing. If the lines aren't brand new already you should get some and replace all the lines, it's a very cheap thing to do and should help either way. Clean lines transport clean fuel, etc. If the lines are old I wouldn't be suprised if there was a tiny unseeable crack int he line for fuel or for the vaccuum that is either letting fuel out or letting air in.

Or, I could simply turn a moped rear wheel around so the sprocket is on the left side? Seems kind of silly to overlook that, or maybe I'm not seeing why that wouldn't work?
Not interested in trikes at all. I want to put an engine on a 2 wheel bicycle, or a moped, and use it for a fun project. I would think I would not need any gears or anything if I hook it up to the output of the CVT, nto the output of the engine. That way I would still have the automatic cvt, but also be able to power a large rear wheel by chain which would be impossible with the engine itself as there is not enough space to fit a 20-26 inch tire on these scooter engines.
So far the hardest parts I am having with this project are finding a welder who won't charge me $500+ to weld a few places to mount an engine (I never knew how much money those guys made until I started asking them for quotes, godddamn!) and finding a way to mount a scooter engine on a bicycle or moped, due to frame space and such.
For the project I have so far for possible use: 150cc and 50cc gy6 engines a brand new long output shaft to put into the final gears a moped with 16 inch wheels a bicycle with 21 inch wheels a couple boxes of spare parts from gy6 engines from engine pieces to carbs and wheels lots of time, very little money

Actually now that I think about it a couple mornings when I went to start it acted like no fuel at first press of the starter button. I often forget to turn the manual fuel petcock off, maybe that's it? Also I brought it out streetside to check on level ground and still up to the top of the dipstick port, so I tilted it to drain a little into a pan. Rides fine, gets up to 52+ (speedo stops at 50 but the needle gets stopped by a pin shortly after 50 so idk really) even with a passenger. Speedo is pretty accurate, last checked with gps it was spot on. I often park in my yard facing downhill as well( % of the time), maybe I should park uphill? It amazes me how these so called "cheap chinese" motors put up to so much crud. Maybe it's just magic? I heard that existed. Or maybe all that oil I lost when I had oil loss issues is finding it's way back to me?

Well with the sprocket I found earlier, I was thinking more along the lines of keeping the cvt but putting a sprocket on the output shaft of the cvt (rear wheel shaft after final gears) and attaching it to a wheel via a chain.

Front wheel drive? Hmm now wouldn't that be interesting! I'm not getting into that though, haha.
All I need now is to get someone to weld me someplace to bolt on a 150 engine to a bicycle or moped and a chain and rear wheel sprocket, or rear wheel with sprockets...
I also need to think about somehow getting disc brakes onto a bicycle or moped...

After a lot of work I have finally got it moving... sometimes. I can get it to run up the street or down the street, but when the load on the engine changes, or I come to a stop, it dies. When it dies it usually doesn't start back up unless I run downhill, not even flat land helps usually. So I have made progress but haven't got it working fully yet. the issue I had that caused no sparking turned out to be a bad stator ring: So I replaced it with a new one, made a timing tool out of a straw and some luck, and got it to run a little bit: Oh yeah and the bicycle chain snapped, that's why I'm running to start it. I'm not sure if the carb is not working right, but it has almost 4k miles on it so it must have worked at one point. The carb is completely cleaned out.

Is the scoot on a flat surface? is the engine hot or cold? It was cold, not sure about flat surface, maybe that's why. There isn't a single level flat surface on my property, makes me believe the house must be weird too. I've actually walked all over the yard trying to find a level spot before, haha. Will check again in a bit.

So I have been checking my oil every now and then since I rehoned the cylinder and installed new rings after my base gasket blew out. Since then it has been fine but today I checked the oil level and it was higher! It was all the way to the top of the oil dipstick port! Now I definately only put 750ml of oil in after fully draining all oil when I did the work, and haven't even reached the point where I would change the oil after breaking in rings. I'm used to oil dissapearing not oil seeming to grow and replicate itself lol... Using royal purple with some conventional oil because it was what I had at the time.

Why wouldn't you tune your carb? You're already dismantling it and replacing parts, might as well tune it so it runs really good instead of "just running"

I've never had any problems with new bolts as long as you do not tighten them beyond torque they should be fine. I really think they use air tools at the factories to make things faster but in doing so make everything too tight.

wd40, rubber mallet, extender rod for sockets, small screwdriver that can fit in the bolt hole, socket wrench, and vice grips...
Use the wd40 all over, get liberal. Carefully place the end of the xtender where you put sockets on, but do not put a socket on it, keep it steady and bang on the other end of the extender with the mallet. Try to remove the bolts now, if no go, try some more bangin, but be careful of it slipping, possibly use a rubber stopper to soften the blow a little and keep it in place... Still no go? Try placing the screwdriver in the ther side of the bolt hole touching the end of the bolt inside the hole and use the mallet, be careful not to mess up the threads then try again.
If no go still try clamping the vice grips on the head of the bolt (hope you have spares, this may ruin them!) and slowly turn the bolt. Make sure the vice grip is very tight or it will strip the bolt.
Still no go? well your fudged, get a drill and remove and rethread the holes...
Damaged them beyond repair? Get new forks, they can be painted, not the travelling parts of the forks, but the rest. New forks will make your ride feel nicer though, so if all else fails you'd at least enjoy a possibly smoother ride.

Yeah I need a new one too, my current one is worn but working. Able to hit 52 (GPS). In fact since I fised it my gps has constantly been alerting me that I'm speeding.... lol. All parts have been good since, no abnormal wear or anything. I've even been experimenting with various weights and springs and a brand new kevlar belt. Trying to find my max output and optimum weights/springs for my powerband with a now working variator. Anyone remember that issue I had where it would go "fwwwooomppp!"? Well that was due to the variator, apparently it's been bad for a while but I never checked. I no longer have weird noises and suprise people on 150cc scoots as I pass them now, haha.

Is it possible to either hookup the output shaft of a standard 139qmb 50cc engine to a chain for a rear wheel on a bicycle or old moped, or maybe a cvt to chain conversion with gears? I know it sounds crazy, but I'm not technically sane.

Inside the headlight? Running light? I have one, it stays on even if the headlight is off, so ya know I don't get pulled over for not having running lights (running lights are required even during the daytime for all 2 wheel vehicles in MA).
