If you end up needing/wanting a nice slightly used 150cc engine for that I have one that came from a bms palazzo which is what bms bike looks like that one.

A long time ago when I got my first variator repl, acement I did not get a boss also, I searched and searched and searched but all the ones I bought ended up being very slightly different. Like I have one with the same exact length and thickness and everything, but the ends instead of being flat are like curved sort of and it changes the way the variator works by a lot and even limits my "100cc" engine to 30mph because of the way it's made! I ended up finding another variator set that included the boss instead at the end as I was unable to find just the boss.

Guess I'm going to just have to bite the eggroll. Just clean it up, use some sort of rust remover (wd40 brand looks promising), lightly grease it, and reuse it. Just don't use sandpaper or anything abrasive to remove the rust.

I am going to check the parts I installed for replacements after the variator issue occured so I can confirm the issue came from the variator. I know by riding it it is a whole lot better, I have gained more than 10mph topend, and with lighter weights too. So obviously the replacement parts are working but just to b sure I will check it anyways.

Go on to the real cannonball scooter run,,,not one Chinese bike finished ,,,not one,,I haven't checked in a few months but I still believe no Chinese bike entered,,,,,,nuff said If no Chinese bike entered then how could one finish?
Here is a story of,,,two Chinese scooters that,,,dare I say it,,drove across America,,,,,,,Hard to believe

There are many other stories of Chinese scooter unexplained successful exploits,,,nuff said
Well with all the problems I've had over the past couple years with the engine I plan to retire soon, I still managed to put over 40k miles on it, so... Maybe they are not racers, and if you don't know how to wrench may leave you stomping your boots as you push your ride home, but they do get you places... lol

For that to be there would have had to be heat, but I check the temp of the CVT case after every ride practically and it was never hot, just warm, so I believe the chances that heat caused the issue is low, however I do not know what caused the issue and am still pondering the different things that may have caused it but can't come up with anything. My guess is it was a crappy variator that took a crap in my cvt.

The bushing is oilite (sintered bronze with oil embedded in it) and can shift when the variator heats up especially if you cleaned it with a solvent removing the oil inside it. You would need a hydraulic press to get it back in place however it would most likely just shift again. How were the plastic guides on the ramp plate? Any signs that they lost engagement allowing the variator to spin on the boss? The plastic guides were actually okay when I opened it up and are currently being used again as I did not have spares. I had a bando belt in there, it has rubbing marks and the threads started coming out the sides, so I replaced with a MMG kevlar belt. All the weights had become severely worn down every single one was worn to the middle almost, so I replaced them with a set of 7g weights I barely used.

Yeah but then your papers would fly away. lain I don't have any papers, haha, paperless is the way to go so yeah paperweight is as useless to me as it could be.

If he can't believe He's advocating it, then it must be good. Maybe he's talking about transforming it from paperweight to running parts... That would be good.

See how on yours the bushing in the middle of the variator goes all the way in and is not protruding out the inner side of the variator? The issue with my variator was the bushing came out and I could not get it back in even with a rubber mallet and a can of wd40.

I'll pull a variator a little later, that looks like a 150cc. Is that correct? John It's a 50cc variator from a 139qmb engine. It is stamped inside with HZMZ, or maybe it's actually ZWZH, they both look like they could be right.
