I do both, I ride alone and with a few buddies. I'm lucky... We have 4 riders. If you were closer, I'd say come along... we get together every friday night for coffee (we have been doing that for years, even before we had scooters) and then ride on weekends. In our group we have three Chinese scoots and one Piggie and many of us have more then one. I have two, Ray has two, Steven has two and Kevin has the Piggie. (1 piggie = 2 chinese... LOL)
Ray, Kevin and myself have been friends for over 20 years so we tend to get into things together. For example, I have a Jimmy and they both have Surburbans.... We all have scooters. And there is noting like seeing three or four big ol' red necks on scooters... LOL
I'm really blessed to have these guys.

My favorite parts site. Bought a whole top end kit for a Moto Brovo + carb, a Starter Clutch for a 250, a CVT Clutch for the same 250.... I might do a video of the cvt clutch install.

What works for me, is I use the three holes to line it up, then fine tune it with the t mark on the stator bell.

dropping the engine in these bikes is really easy... is it a short case mono shock? (one shock in the rear)... Thems are like 25 minutes to get it out and maybe about 35 to get it back in. Easier then trying to do it in the bike. Believe me.
Variator weights are the biggest bang for the buck... then like a 115mm variator would be the second thing I'd get. Exhuast and unifilter would be next but they don't give you the performance boost that the wieghts will. Exhuast and unifilter are usually done at the same time, and you would need to rejett the carb at that point.

Lane splitting is legal here in California... In stop and go traffic the thinking is, that if you filter to the front of the line at a light, the likely hood of getting rear ended and smashed between two cars is less likely. There is even a law here, making it against the law to block someone splitting lanes.

Not true, I have one right now in my shop that has been a freakin pain in the back side.
It's got like 900 miles on it, and so far it's had the starter clutch replaced, the intake manifold replaced, the air box was replaced with a unifilter because the stock air box was junk, new cvt clutch... and an enricher. This bike has just been a pain. I guess there is a lemon in every batch... It's the honda clone.

Big bore kit, maybe.... If it was me, with that many miles on the bottom end, I'd just get a top end kit and head and call it good. Especially if you don't want to mess with jetting etc.
is it a 150cc?

The honda is a beautiful bike, but I'd go with the 250. Can you test drive the 150 to see if it's up to the speeds you want to do? Are you going to be riding 2 up alot?
What about the length of the trips you are going to take would the comfy seat make up for the other shortcommings on the Aprilla?
Resale value is generally good on Piaggio's and Aprilla's but are execlent on the Honda's. The fit and finish on Honda's is pretty tough to beat as well.

Just take your clamp to an auto parts store and get a conventional worm drive hose clamp. You will want to take your old one with you to assure you get the correct size.

The Aprillia is tons more bike the then Kymco. I can't speak about the warrenty, but the bike sounds like a good deal. I belive that Aprillia and Vespa (Piaggio) use the Piaggio drive train. I think you will happy with the bike.

Yup.... The exhaust valve was probably leaking a bit.... Good thing you got it done. They can burn exhuast valves if the get too leaky.

Here's what I do to get fluid down... Open the bleeder, and just keep pumping it, it will get some fluid down there. Then bleed as normal.
