I'll tell you what...I have a SYM RV250 that I LOVE! However, being the humane person that I am, I will trade you, titile for title, so you can have that "road feel" back and I will take your Burgie and suffer through the pains of getting used to it. I'm a big believer in helping out my fellow man whenever I can! Dang, and I was going to offer him my Retro 10" wheeled 150.... if he want road feel, try a 10" wheeled mono shock scoot at 57mph.... It's an exciting experience... especially with that small rear drum brake... I love my little scoot, but I'd trade it in a minute for that burger....

seems like the best clearance is different on each scooter I work on... some like .003 some like .004, others like .002. Since I work on 9 scooters total, I keep a log of what works best on what.... I also note belt sizes, jet sizes and weights.

with windshields, it's not always about looks. It's about where the wind hits your body. I have a windshield for my retro style scooter, took it off after the first ride with it, because, the wind hit my helmet and made it rumble.... making riding uncomfortable.

I have that problem sometimes... but I can't remember if it happens at work or home.... I use a mac(s) at home and a pc at work running a ancient browser.

hmmm.... Someone with a bit more experience on the electrical can chime in, but I do have a theory. I think the ignition is fired off a different set of windings in the stator.

I'd do 200 miles on my 150, and not even worry about it... And she's air cooled. I don't think you will have any problems with a 200 mile trip. Just take breaks, not for the bike, but more for you. Riding can take a bit out of someone and it's much more enjoyable if you can get off the bike every 30 to 45 minutes (that's what they made camera's for). It's safer too. Don't ride if you are tired, take a break.

Ok, that's what I'll do. I'm not sold on the Chinese bearings. So far out of 6 scooter (all with less then 2k miles on them except for mine which has 5400) we have changed 2 sets of wheel bearings and mine I think are next.
I'm want to catch mine early....
Does anyone know if the 50's use the same wheel bearings as the 150's? I believe the 250 I did used the same bearing as the 150.

some peeps it is.... If I'm working on someone else's scoot, I'd rather buy a cdi from you. I hate it when they come back... By the Buy, do you carry bearings? I'm thinking I want to change mine, but I don't want chinese bearings. I figure a nice set of NSK's would be the ticket.

The advise I'd give, is go with something GY6 based. Parts are easy and cheap to get. Also, before you select a model, make sure you can get replacement body panels, cheap and in color. How good your scoots look will be a direct reflection on your business. People don't want to rent something that looks junky. If you get scoots with trunks, keep duplicate keys in a key box in your office, incase someone locks the keys in. (it will happen)... a decal under the ignition with your phone number on it can be helpful as well.
If you do go with trunks, don't use the cheesy one's that come with the scooters.... they are crap, garbage, like to pop open, not shut... feel cheap, yada yada... you can get a decent truck for 40 or so on ebay. You could even have two rental rates... with trunk and without. (removable trunks would be awesome)
You might think about getting an extra swing arm. That way if one does go belly up, you can change it out quickly, and get that scooter back out on the road earning you money, then you can rebuild the swing arm at your leasure and not stress if you have to wait a few days for a part or two.
It's just what I'd do...
