That I can't tell you. I buy cheap garbage off of Ebay. D_lol I'm gonna buy those and be like you Okay. Make sure they are the right parts for your bike and remember I warned you. I have gotten a couple of bad parts off of Ebay. There are links to various vendors here on the site and I'm sure they are all wonderful. Good luck and happy scooting.

Aren't you the guy that put the piston in wrong with the Intake side down and your still wondering why the hit the fan. Come on Bro your lucky that is all it did usually more damage is caused when you put a piston in wrong. From the looks of it it was vibrating quite a bit in the jug probably due to the different pressure put on one side of the piston due to being upside down. Alleyoop Is there any chance he wasn't getting oil to his wrist pin?

A full PDI does include removing all bolts and loctiting them. However, that is somewhat extreme. I personally check all nuts/bolts and wire connections, change all fluids, and replace any flimsy air, fuel, and other hoses. Wow how long would it take to do get to, and tighten, every fastener on a scooter? BTW when I got my scooter, used with "only 300 miles on it" (probably more like 3000 or more), I had several loose bolts in the engine/suspension area. Then again, I believe it had been worked on before by flying monkeys.

B(ig) B(lock) K(it) to increase engine displacement along with performance. A crankshaft with a slightly longer stroke is sometimes used along with a BBK to increase torque and displacement. Got it, thank you very much You guys bored?

Okay, here are my first readings. Feel free to add your own and to comment on what you see here. These readings were taken by putting a "T" on the fuel pump's vacuum port. This is actual vacuum delivered to the pump while the bike is on the center stand. To note, I am able to go top speed, a little over 60mph and over 8000 rpm without bogging or shutting down. First are the readings from the fuel pump outlet. Note the apparent drop in psig at 8000 rpm. This is a 150cc HS1P57QMJ type "A" GY6 clone long case with stock carb and airbox and all of the emissions still on it. I am currently using a 120 main jet, however I will be switching back to the 115 which seems to work noticeably better, especially on top end power. It is interesting that as rpm goes up, fuel pressure rises as vacuum drops. This would indicate that a lot of little pulses on the fuel pump vacuum produces more power than a fewer number of larger pulses. I wish I had gotten matching rpm readings but apparently I had a brain fart. I did get 7000 for both. Still it is clear that while vac pressure drops, the pump makes up for it in pulses per minute, at least until the very upper rpm range, where it begins to taper off.
We also have some baseline measurements for an electric pump, flow and pressure being about 1gph@4psi, leaks included. Several drops of fuel leaking per second but nothing compared to what the pump is pumping out. I'd say if you did 1.5 or 2X those numbers you'd have a good pump for a stock 150gy6. Then again, this is not under load. I will try to get some actual on the road measurements tomorrow.Here are the readings at the fuel pump outlet. i had some fuel leakage on my test setup but hopefully it won't hurt the readings too much: fuel pressure 1.5 psig at 1500 rpm 2.6 psig at 5000 rpm 4 psig at 7000 rpm 3.5 psig at 8000 rpm vacuum(IN) rpm 11-15 1750 steady oscillating between 11 and 15 inches 11 4500 steady 6 5500 steady 4.5 6500 steady 3 7000 steady 1.5 7500 steady 1 8000 steady 0-20 goosing. goosing the throttle at idle makes vac go from 0 to 20 then back to 11-15 oscillation 11-15 in at 1750rpm titan mp150-02 vac readings on center stand when idling it ocsillates like this. all other readings were steady on one number. 1 in at 8000 rpm titan mp150-02 vac readings on center stand Let me know what you think.

Got my new vacuum and fuel pressure gauge in today, and boy is it huge! ::)It takes up most of my hand. It's like the diameter of a can of beef stew! mmmm beef stew. oh so I can't wait to try it out. I will try it out a little later. I am looking forward to getting some readings for my data collection. Maybe you could play Mythbusters with the common PCV valve people install on the valve cover vent line and post readings with and without it... What myth are we busting, Todd?

If you can get your schnoz a foot or so from the back of a big semi on the highway, it's AMAZING how fast you can go, and how wind-free it can get! They don't call it "drafting" for nothing... Not so good on a hot day, behind a truckload of chicken renderings though... LOLOLOL! Not for me though, I like a LOT of daylight between me and tons of steel and chicken-guts... HeheHe... Leo in Texas I think people are doing 80mph or more on human powered bicycles by getting behind a specially made vehicle that blocks the wind for them. It may look angry to some but its a joy to ride. Stable even at + mph. Cruises at 75/80 even carting my 245 lbs around unless you have a really bad headwind. The stock halogen lamps are like lasers according to my eldest daughter after I followed her home late one nite and I am not sure what the comment would be now that I have the brighter Osram XtraVision bulbs. That's nice! Not knocking your scooter, BTW. I just like to look at their "faces".

I'm really big into utilizing gauges... I am adding a bunch of gauges to my scooter.... I'm waiting on a new instrument cluster and for the first snow to fly. My new instrument cluster is digital and the number one reason I got it was for the built in tachometer (im trying to cram a bunch of gauges in a little space). I purchased a small project box for the housing and some handlebar mounts from ebay for cheap... I also ditched the 12V, 5 watt lights and replaced them with 200ma LEDs. Here's where my project is at so far.... That looks nice. There is much I'd like to know about what's going on my engine, especially air/fuel ratio and temperature. Oil pressure and temp gauges should be minimal equipment on anything with a gas engine and I have neither.

Hope someone can show me which components I have to "hot wire" to get it to run.
One other thing, there is a switch on the throttle side above the starter switch that looks almost like a turn signal switch but it's not, and I cannot figure out what it does??? I'm sure someone knows the answer. Would appreciate it.
Thanks from the Old Hippie Mine has a switch on the right for the lights. OFF/RUNNING/ON Here is a nice test bench with easy to read wiring. Very simple. Thanks to Bashan from scooterdoc scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/6884/gy6-project?page=3 and for Alleyoop for sending us to see it. You can hook the starter button/solenoid to your regular battery. He said he hooked his up this way for some reason having to do with convenience.

Ya, that vegetable tanned carving leather is hard as a rock. Makes for a pretty saddle but I'd rather use thinner black tanned leather for a seat cover. It should probably hold up fairly well if you keep it mink oiled & don't leave your scoot in the sun all day. I've had gel pads on my bicycle & I think some thick closed-cell foam would work about as well. Your scoot looks like it has a comfortable seating arrangement. I am definitely thinking of adding padding to mine but I no longer have a sewing machine and I'm not sure I can afford to, or want to, pay an upholsterer to do it for me. I'm a little tall for my stepped down seat as well. I'd like to fill it up with foam and make the front almost as tall as the rear, if not as tall. The downside is that would put me even higher above my windshield. Everything is made for "average" sized people. I have even thought of buying some lexan and making a taller windshield for winter, but all of this stuff costs money and frankly I think I'll be upsizing to a larger scooter soon anyway.
