is the muffler and engine pipe one piece ? take it off and with a vacuum in reverse blow it in reverse . John Yes it is all one piece, I do not own a vacuum, I only have a broom. Poor life sucks. Have you cleaned out wet oily mess from inside a muffler, and what did you use? It seems it's very thick and has coated the entire inside in a very thick layer of oil/gas. I use VROOM for that.

Hahahaha,,Im sure they have an adapter for that Alley,,hope he doesn't try that one..lol I was at HF today and saw a 2"-7" hone,,that would work in a 150 but not a 50...Im going to search ebay for a smaller one that will do 50-250. Better off with a cheap drill from HF...than trying to man that dremel..hehehe... I want to get a bike lift soon. Harbor Freight has theirs on sale for $295, plus, from what I hear, I'll want to spend another 50-60 dollars for a good wheel chock they have. Any of you guys have a lift? I'll be Dmartin does. If so, how do you like it?

I don't own a digital caliper right now. If you need one they go for about 5 dollars and up on ebay

UPDATE: I got the turn signals working, finally. I had a poor ground on the left signal, causing it to get low voltage, so I regrounded it with some other ground wires. I put the running lights on an unused hot wire. Now I have turn signals and am legal, not to mention the safety factor.
The turn signal indicators stay lit until I turn on a blinker, then the one activated blinks. My instrument panel isn't lit up. Maybe I pulled a wire loose. I wonder if I somehow got my indicators mixed in with the running light wires.
Anyway, I'm good for now on this old beater. Now to figure out the jerking at open throttle. I am guessing bad diaphragm, a vacuum leak, or bad fuel pump. Top speed right now is only 50 mph but acceleration is good.

Actually they do make a different vertical 250 engines, the CN250 and CF250 are supposed to be identical with a few tweaks here and there. One is shorter than the other and most of the time they put the Cf250 in carts, ATV's and buggys but have been known to put it in a scooter also. The output wheel shafts can vary also. JR Thanks. Alley suggested the 828 belt, and when I punched in cf250t, on ebay, I got the same belt. I went with that. I need a few odds and ends to make this bike complete. The throttle grip is missing its end cap. The ones I see online have end caps that expand into the tube, but this one has threads on the end. It looks like 14 x 2mm pitch. I don't know if they are stock grips or where to get a new cap. Here's the left side cap: and here is the throttle side: I also need the little rubber cap that goes on the coolant reservoir bottle. Does anyone know where to get the odds and ends pieces?

Yeah, maybe. The heavy wear on the ridge at the base of the fingers made me think that might be what trashed the sliders. Threw the boogered up sliders in the trash last weekend, and now regretting that. They would have been a cool mantle piece! Anyway - have you heard of this Motorio variator? For some reason I have the notion "Motorio" is high quality stuff, but maybe that's my imagination speaking. This product caught my eye because it (supposedly) has an interesting quirk: 3 of the ramps are cut for high end (and use heavier weights), and the other three ramps are cut for low end (and use lighter weights). Kind of an interesting concept ... www.ebay.com/itm/SCOOTER-150CC-GY6-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-RACING-MOTORIO-VARIATOR-SET-NEW-GENERATION-/191446787656Not buying it. Add all the rollers up, do the math and the equally divided roller weight = 10.66 grams.
Also roller versus slider. Betting I can take a standard variator and put 11g sliders in and you wouldn't know the difference or see it on a RPM reading either.
JR
I think one set of ramps is steeper than the other set, meaning the steeper set would need more force to make the rollers go up them. That might make the bike accelerate quickly, by keeping the steeper ramp rollers closer to the center, and then when the other set of rollers makes it up the steeper ramps, it would push the variator closed more. It might effectively give you "lighter" weight until enough rpms were reached to "trip" the steeper ramp setup. I am sure you could figure it out with some math using the angles of the ramps at any given location, and their distance from the center, the rpms, and the opposing spring pressure, and the angle of the pulleys, but algebra and calculus are not my strong suits. If someone can tell me how to calculate it, I'll put it on a spreadsheet so anyone can use it.

Yours is better done. But think about how long a cow is, compared to how wide you are. So if the cow's shoulders are against your left side like that, its hind would be hanging down. And seriously? You went internet-grazing to find the cow image? You're crazy, scooter! But in a good fun way! >'Kat Thanks, Kat! I liked your Koiow story! If you guys have kids, here's a good way to get them ready for future Scooterdom!

howdy hmmmm. entertaining but not possible for the cow to get there on its own. i also notice the suspension doesn't reflect the added weight. anyway it is an entertaining captian. ken Now, why wouldn't it be possible for the cow to climb up there? Goats do, all the time. (never mind that the cow is a different contrast than the car. or that the light is diff. still a great creation!) My vehicles live in a garage, so the only potential critters inside the engine are mice. And those I'm not going to grieve if they're killed. Sorry, but I am a 'Kat after all. >'Kat HAHA This is probably more what it looks like when a cow sits on your hood. This one seems unbelievable too. He should have flat tires. His jacket looks right, but a cow?

I'm still a little edgy in roundabouts, after going down in one. I think it doesn't help that I don't know why I went down. The policeman said could've been a leaf happened to blow under my rear tire, or just enough sand. Or wind happened to catch me there. All I know is my rear tire slid out and down we went. Probably also doesn't help that I hate roundabouts in my car. I was almost broadsided twice (once by a cop!) going around in the double-lane one. I try to avoid those bastards of the roads. Makes life happier all around. >'Kat I agree. Not knowing why it happened would be disconcerting. It's hard to avoid something if you don't know why it happened.

Here is a list of the mods i want to do on my 2014 TaoTao ATM50 that i bought last March, 1200+ Miles since then. . . 7. Mount some motorcycle styled foot rests on the front L and R (cuz im 6' 3") I like the idea of putting pegs on scooters for the same reason. I'd like to see how you put them on. I was thinking of cutting a hole in the plastic and welding or bolting them to the frame.

" I'm paranoid as on the road now." That is a tough one. I had a Kawasaki 750 , rode if for a while. I stopped when I realized that no matter how careful I was, the grey haired little old ladies were still a danger. People turning across your path all of the time. I never got in an accident. I also rode a bicycle for over 100,000 miles. Several times, I took a wet corner a little too fast, slid 50 feet on my leg and scraped off the skin from cheek to knee. It was one oozy sore for a month. Everytime, I climbed back on and before I knew it I was taking wet corners way too fast all over again. For me, it was easy to get over my own stupidity. Crashes happen. It was much harder to accept the constant stupidity of others when it risked my life. I am hoping that the scooter is more akin to the bike than the 750... at least in the eyes of motoring public. That's the scary part. I was only doing about 40mph in broad daylight and the other driver didn't see me at all. I turned to avoid them but they kept coming and intercepted my escape route. I was like a fighter with a missile locked onto me. Right before impact I was practically driving horizontally. I was amazed the scooter could still stick to the ground. Knowing this, I realize I could have turned harder than I did, but of course it would have been extremely risky, and even a little dirt or sand would have spelled disaster. We have a LOT of older people here in FL. I had a relative who wouldn't give up the wheel well into his 80's. His awareness level on the road was scary, but it's hard to tell an old WWII vet that he couldn't do as he pleased, just out of respect. He had Alzheimer's and after he got lost a few times and ended up far away from where he was headed, we had to tell him to not drive any more. He died within a year of that. I have been riding, on and off, for almost 30 years without a scratch. This wreck taught me that, even at low speeds, if another driver makes the wrong moves, there's not much you can do but eat pavement if they make their move at just the right time. You have a split second to do something and, in my case, the only way to have avoided them would have been to head to where they WERE before they turned, but of course if they HAD stopped like they were supposed to, I would have hit them head on, so it was practically a no win situation. I'm sure a really skilled driver could have pulled it off, but for your average Joe, not much could have been done. Now I slow down, a lot, until I can see if they are going to turn, but they could still hit me if they punch the gas. In this area we have a lot of slow streets meeting faster ones at intersections. People at stop signs lurch their cars like kids with ADD that can't wait to start moving again, zoom up to stops signs at 30 mph and then slam the brakes, and every single one of them could be the next "little old lady" who just keeps going. That's the hard part. I meet these intersections every few hundred feet. Being aware is one thing, but it wears me out, driving in hyper-awareness mode all the time, intersection after intersection, turn lane after turn lane. For a few weeks it was even harder because the flashbacks of the wreck were distracting me badly. My brain wanted to study the wreck for a while and see if there was a "solution". The only solution I have found is to REALLY slow down when meeting other drivers at intersections. The hardest ones are the ones with tinted windows. You can't tell if they are looking in your direction or not. It will get easier, but I know it's only because I will become complacent and ignore the reality of the situation. Ironically, the only real way of avoiding a wreck would be to drive like a "little old lady".

I wasn't able to hit the throttle hard while holding my phone . I have no center stand ",safety reasons ". Even when I had my center stand on my back wheel still stayed grounded . kinda wondering if anyone else's scoot is like that . I'm not sure if it has to do with the bigger framed scoots or what ? My bike pivots backwards when I put things in the trunk, otherwise the front wheel is on the ground.

Don't know if I would call it Zen but after 60 years I realize that Dad was right. Does getting upset and obsessing about it make it any better or bring anything to a better resolution? If the answer is "No not really" then make an effort to change focus and move on to something more productive. Not jaded either but a bit of simple pragmatism and effort to take it easy on ones self. I have some new scoots to work on and one is like "Scootie" but with a bigger engine. I am getting over Scootie but I have to get over the wreck too. That's the hard part. I'm paranoid as on the road now.

. Well the valves are now .004 and .005. I feel like it would run better if they were .003 and .004 based on how it ran before adjusting them and now, but it would not have been a huge difference. Overall I am very happy. After the valve adjustment there was no change in my situation so just for kicks I shoved a rag into the air box and it fixed everything all at once and ran perfect topping out at an "indicated" 55 mph. Didn't have a gps on me to see how well adjusted this particular scooters gauges are. It's always a crapshoot. I can say however I have ran 55 on my cheater geely before and it felt very similar so I estimate it was at least 50-ish. Thanks for all the information and help as always and hope to return the favor sometime. If there is a better way to adjust the air/fuel than sticking a rag in the airbox I'm game to try it, but there are no settings on this carb I can change to make it different so i think it is best to leave it be at this point. I've made a video so you can all hear how it sounds and see how it runs at the indicated top speed. I am used to 2 stroke high revving scooters so this one sounds like it never really gets excited to my ears, but it runs very well and it quite quick for a 150 in basically a 250 sized body. This is a big booty Scootie. :-) Here is a video for you all s32.photobucket.com/user/audiogodz1/media/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000068.mp4.html
Oh also, based on how it appears to run in the video and sound, do you suppose it would make it sound and run more excited to do maybe one needle jet clip up or down? It seems to do great, but it never really revs the nuts off or sounds like it is straining. I can't describe it, but it just seems tame. Runs great though from what I can tell.
