If you have any specific questions on our particular models, please let me know and I'd be happy to assist you. Have a great weekend. Justin, I am learning to repair scooters. Can you tell me what kind of training and background good scooter repair people tend to have? Small engine repair, motorcycle mechanics, auto mechanics, etc?

I got an arcade pinball game and a video game once. I was thrilled until the repair guy told me how much it would cost to fix them, so I sold them. We didn't have internet then. If we had, I might have been able to learn how to fix them on an arcade game forum and find parts cheap. I never really got into pinball machines but when I was in college they this one actually this was the only one they had . it was before they built the student center and it was in the cafeteria back in a dark corner . it just happens to be one of the top rated pinball machines ever made . lucky me !!. So the price is really high on them . they made just over 6600 of them and no one wants to part with them . there are 2 within 60 miles of my house " well actually 3 , one is in a private collection " so I'll be heading to Pittsburgh hopefully soon to take a look and play them. Maybe I can eventually get one of them . I suppose it's no surprise I was a fan of the Tron Light Cycle game.

Please forgive the question but I have to ask one , its been eating at my soul for the past 16 yrs . well here it goes !!!!!!!!!!!! HAS ANYONE HERE EVER PLAYED " THEATRE OF MAGIC" ? Its a pinball machine . I use to play it when I was in college " for a whole yr and a half " . well the last half yr I was mainly playing ",THEATRE OF MAGIC" not going to class Anyway I wanted to buy the darn thing and it's selling for nearly 8,000 buck !!!!. I'm normally not a pinball playing kinda guy but the dam- thing sucks u in . I'm not a member of any pinball forums nor want to be so I figured Id post it here and hope no one knows the difference . When I said ",and hope no one knows the difference " I was still hoping for a reply ,lol . I got an arcade pinball game and a video game once. I was thrilled until the repair guy told me how much it would cost to fix them, so I sold them. We didn't have internet then. If we had, I might have been able to learn how to fix them on an arcade game forum and find parts cheap.

I can see the use of a lift on many motorcycles but I just can't see the smaller lift being of any really help on these scoots . unless like I said if u have back problems. I don't see any reason I'd ever need to be under my scoot. Other then some screws for the plastic side panels. Which I can just as easy sit down and reach under and then unscrew them . also the smaller lift seems like u would still need to lie down to get under it . the funny thing is if someone gave me one I would use it I don't like the smaller one. The jack is right where I want my hands to be and, like you said, it's not tall enough.

I think the other video showed the technique better. To get a 45 degree angle, the stones need to be moving up and down at the same speed they are rotating. You'll see the pattern and you can adjust your stroke and rpm until you get a nice crosshatch pattern.

I want the lift from HF also,,last time I looked it was over four beans,,if its on sale I will have to get one next week for sure..Ill see if I can dig up a 20% off coupon.. BTW-I love the smell of that place,,smells just like my scooter..hehe Was looking at small engine hones and Alley is right again..lol..they are close to $40 bucks.. The closest one to me is in Pittsburgh about 60 miles north. I guess I'm the only one who doesn't want a lift . why not spent 30 bucks on chains and pulleys . or maybe a modified jack that clamps onto the frame. I want the ride-on type because I want to get under the frame to work, but this style is much cheaper: I have seen them on craigslist for $50

If anyone needs to make a few bucks on the side, try fiverr.com. You can set up "gigs" and make money. No lie. I have used it and also bought work on there from other users. I sell spreadsheets and programming gigs on there. It's a great way for artists to promote their work. You can use paypal to retrieve your earnings. There are some really fun things on there. www.fiverr.com

Just called 3 places, they all said they don't hone cylinders. They said they just replace parts instead. The other places I called didn't answer and I left messages. Lain, what did you say you do for work?

My friend got one for the Goldwing I found for him (from HF). Sold the bike, might consider selling the lift. I read some reviews on it. The two biggest issues besides the cheap wheel chock were that you have to fill up the pump with hydraulic fluid, and that the pumps tend to fail quickly.

I want to get a bike lift soon. Harbor Freight has theirs on sale for $295, plus, from what I hear, I'll want to spend another 50-60 dollars for a good wheel chock they have. Any of you guys have a lift? I'll be Dmartin does. If so, how do you like it? I want the lift from HF also,,last time I looked it was over four beans,,if its on sale I will have to get one next week for sure..Ill see if I can dig up a 20% off coupon.. I see some on ebay for as little as six dollars. He only needs it to work once. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=cyinder+hone&_from=R40%7CR40&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xcyinder+honing+tool&_nkw=cyinder+honing+tool&_sacat=0

Not sure how big it is by the image or if it would fit this, this is the dremel I have: Lain, I know where you're coming from. I know what it's like to work with practically nothing. I know people are going to say I'm crazy, but if I HAD to get the scoot together and could not borrow or buy the honing tool, I'd be tempted to try a bit of medium to fine sandpaper and lightly scuff the inside of the cylinder. I DO mean lightly, and try to copy the pattern you see created from the hone by going around the cylinder at a 45 degree angle and then back around at the opposite 45 degrees. Either that or just skip it and try to get by until you can get some dough. It sounds like you had a timing problem, but you said your valve/s were chipped, and that's a toughie. Just don't blame me if you mess it up. You have to know what a hone does, and how to use it, in order to try to copy the effect. You need some very light scratches in your cylinder wall. Good luck.

Any of you guys have a lift? I'll be Dmartin does. If so, how do you like it? You mean like a lift so u can lift the scoot up and work on it ? If so what would u do to it after u lift it up ? Its not like we rotate tires on these things or nor would it make it any easier to change the brakes . I guess u can change the oil , however by the time you have it lifted u could have changed the oil . I'm just mess in with u , but honestly I really don't see the point . I don't like to lie down on the creeper and work on the bikes. I like to sit in a chair and work. I would use the lift for taking lower panels off, pulling the engine, the cvt parts, the front end, wheels, etc. I have five scoots now, and I plan to part out the two 50cc ones. It would be really nice to have them up a few feet off of the ground.

Just remember backfiring is a LEAN condition, AND white smoke is gas not oil. If it is blueish it is oil. So backfiring plus white smoke to much gas and since backfireing is a lean condition YOU HAVE A BAD AIR LEAK and I would bet it is where the pipe connects to the motor(head). And since that was broken before and if you have not fixed that and put in a new EXHAUST gasket that is where most likely the air leak is at. NOW if you do not fix it things will get worst for you because it will damage your exhaust valve then you will need a new valve and or new head and or new piston if the valve breaks and damages the piston. So get it fixed otherwise it will cost you a of a lot more than a couple bucks now. Alleyoop After changing the head, and everything the scoot still backfires. The backfires seem to be coming from the muffler into the engine and out the tailpipe at the same time. There is a decent amount of oil and gas buildup from when the scoot wasn't running well stuck in the muffler to the point where it seems much heavier than it was before. Also, it's spewing out TONS of white smoke for about the entire warmup, after it gets on the road it stops smoking. I am guessing this may be a cause or THE cause of the backfires, I think my piston rings may be letting out too much oil, since my engine seems to EAT OIL. I am also suspecting running rich due to too large main jet, but I have a jet set on the way. I did get new rings but the new ones had gaps that were already too large so I am sending them back and getting new ones. How do I remove the buildup so I can ride without the backfires? Brake cleaner? I already know about the torch method but I do not want to do that method because my muffler is already a bit messed up. Money is a problem otherwise I would have got myself a new muffler already. As I said, I replaced everything, except the exhaust pipe, it still backfires. I AM trying to figure out the cause, I think it is the buildup of wet oily/gas stuff on the inside of the muffler now because it does not come from inside the engine, the backfires come from the pipe. I can hear them int he pipe and it almost seizes the engine. It sounds like you're spitting out unburned gas and maybe oil into your exhaust.
