will it start or run without opening the throttle?
I would remove the emissions to see if that is the cause.

what color spark are you getting and is it consistent? can you post a pic of your cdi/ignition module?

so when everything is in the run position , is the black/white wire making ground? (on the cdi two pin plug)

Never could get it to start with the new gaps. - no kick start as I have fuel injection Do you have spark? Do you have compression? Are you sure fuel is reaching the engine? I'm with lain on this one. Have you checked for spark?

I saw the top of your piston and the valves , everything looks normal.

its not at tdc in any of the pics. a gap that is too large will not open a valve. It will not damage the valve. If the valve does not open no compression or combustion.
The woodruff key is what holds the flywheel in place on the crankshaft, the flywheel has timing marks.

You might want to have a spare ignition coil around. They are cheap enough, plug it in when you get it.

I would test stator ac output when Isolated, then dc out put from the regulator isolated.
