This scooter is not the typical set up as far as the firing system. It has a TCI instead of a CDI and the TCI gets it's power from the stator. While it will run with the battery disconnected it is not recommended. www.jr-richscooterdoc.com/WD_linhai_mainstreet-300_wir_diagram.pdfFirst things first, need to take a volt meter and measure the voltage across the battery at idle and at 5k RPM to see if it increases. Also check all grounds. It needs to have 14.5Vdc+ at 5k RPM. If not then you need to find the 3 White wires going into the R/R (they may be yellow) and test the voltage with your meter set on AC. Set the meter at least to the 200Vac ranges and test the voltage from white wire to white wire like this since this is a 3-phase stator: 1 to 2 1 to 3 2 to 3 You should have 60 to 100Vac on all three tests depending on engine RPM. If they are not equal then you have a bad stator. Check these and get back. JR

I'll echo Doug and also remind all that one of the many things mentioned on the old forum was just this kind of demeanor and sometimes it getting out of hand before it could be taken care of.
While everyone has a right to their opinion it can be stated in a way that doesn't demean people and get a flame war started. It's simple enough to say you had a bad experience with someone, in this case a police officer and then go on. To say all police officers are bad just because of one rotten apple is like saying all barbers are no good because one may have messed up your haircut, same idea, same principal.
There is always that other side of the coin too and we need to remember that. Like Doug said he works and at times can't be here to watch for these things, myself I call myself retired but just this week I have a total of 4 ball games to go to with my granddaughter and grandson that I am now raising, finally getting some good weather and my grass in the yard is a foot deep in places, I kid you not and I have 5 acres to mow and weed eat. Trying to get out a garden, putting out mulch on a total of 28 fruit trees, cleaning up the strawberry patch, mulching my vineyard of 30 grapes, etc. etc.
So you can see even though I take breaks during the day and come check on the forum I have things going too.
Lastly this is just not necessary and if it gets out of hand on subjects that offend then the tolerance for it is not very high. Also as a reminder one can use the report to mod function if they fell someone is out of place or offensive and Doug or I will see what is going on and take action if any is necessary.

I'll give you one good bit of advice as a two owner 250B scooter person. I just put a new back brake caliper on and decided to use synthetic this time. Never again. The bleeding process with synthetic is painful. The tiniest bubble will make the brake spongy. The normal easy process of bleeding good old DOT 3 or 4 doesn't apply. Also by others statements even when you get the brake properly bled the brake will be softer and not what you're used too. Good quality DOT3 fluid will last as long as you own the scooter.
I just did this last week so if you do it good luck.

At this point other than people being hurt, it being a sad cowardly act and it was a bomb of some kind we know very little. Who, why is only speculation at this point.
Why is the part that I have a hard time with. It doesn't matter to me who because when it is truly found out then IMO there will be no penalty severe enough. I will nor do I care of who's cause, these people today did nothing to no one and are innocent victims.
We can talk all we want, and indeed this doesn't need to turn into a political discussion but to me one thing is clear, whoever did this was making a statement for something and IMO the statement has no humanity to it nor should it go unpunished. It's time to quit listening to the cries of justice for the guilty and start taking up for justice for law abiding people and innocent victims.
Some people may call me harsh and they have that right to that opinion and all by our system are due the process of law but when that process takes place justly and correct then it's time to administer the sentence to the crime and whoever did this IMO needs to make peace and bear the punishment.
But at this point again we know very little so lets think about all the people who need help and hope that no more suffering to blasts or bombs occurs.

Let's try to stay on subject to the OP's question. Since this is a general type question then giving the results of what your scooter does can add to the knowledge base of this inquiry and it doesn't matter what you ride.
Now I'll add my thoughts on the matter. As in all things with these machines lots of factors play into what one scooter does versus another. Carasdad mentioned one of the most important factors IMO. Depends on how you have your CVT set up? A variator with heavier weighted slider/rollers is going to respond differently than one with lighter weights and the clutch set up will add to the effect.
Rider weight, conditions, tire pressure all contributing factors as well. Even the rate that you decal will be a factor. I use 12g sliders on my 250B and ride in the hills a lot and when I am going down a big hill if I let off of the gas all the way I get a fairly good engine deceleration with the engine giving me some braking power. But when I was with the OEM 14g rollers the engine braking going down a big hill was very minimal. So needless to say by going to 12g sliders I gained two pleasant things while riding in the Ozarks, better pull up the hills and better deceleration going down.

It happened with Susan Boyle on the same show and no matter if you like this kind of music or not this kid has an incredible voice. Plus it's always nice to see Simon get to eat a plate of crow! JR

Debt Load

I will echo Doug and lefty. I'm the same as lefty, use two cards very wisely, one I've had since 1972 which is almost unheard of. But it's not a cash back earner, it's just my I am away from home and forgot to bring any cash emergency card. I've never treated it any other way. But I have a Walmart Discover card for one thing and one thing only, cheaper gasoline. I get a always 5 cents per gallon off and at times especially during the holidays it goes up to sometimes as high as 15 cents per gallon off. But it's paid monthly and my cash back is adding up too. My wife and I move around a lot so 5 cents a gallon adds up in the long run. I just this past week re-financed my house to a 2.675% interest rate, took a 10 year loan and we just set it up to make a automatic payment that will pay it off in 48 months. We will do this, not bother the payment system and be done with this. My wife went back to college after being out of school for over 25 years and is now a RN making very good money, with out house plans and her job she will retire in 10 years and maybe just work a little part time or maybe even on the traveling nurse thing. I have two vehicles paid for and two that we just bought one for her to go to work and the other for me to get these grandkids I'm raising around to all their activities. Both of these vehicles are on the 0% interest thing that if you had to buy a vehicle you'd be a fool to turn down and I could care less if the wife's is paid off because she puts over 50K on a vehicle a year so it'll probably get traded in again in about 2 to 2-1/2 years, the other one will be paid off in 36 months. Other than that I owe nothing and have a few bucks stuck back to have some fun later on when we get these kids raised. Credit card debt can be a very bad thing and like Doug called lefty I'm not the norm, I manage mine religiously. I a lot of times buy my Christmas from October to December and buy a lot with free shipping and to 180 days same as cash which allows me to buy more and yet stay in my budget interest free but that's not the norm either. I just paid off my grandkids go-kart I bought them for Christmas this past week, Christmas is officially paid for, now it's time for our June vacation money planning and going to Disneyland and even hollering at old Doug when we are so close. We have a complete list of Roketa manuals in the Chinese Manual section of the Tech area but they are not much help. You'll find a better manual especially for troubleshooting in this section: itistheride.boards.net/index.cgi?board=50ac&action=display&thread=54But Terrilee is right either handle will start the engine unless of course it's bad too. Also I would not bypass this system, it is an important safety feature and do remember if the scooter won't start with one or either of the brakes pressed then you have no brake lights either which for sure is dangerous. OK I was hoping another Arkie would beat me to this so I'll be the first. Old JR here and I live near Morrilton Arkansas right down Hwy 154 in front of Petit Jean Mountain about 10 minutes from one of the largest and prettiest state parks in this state and also about 45 seconds from the mighty Arkansas River.

Sorry I'm late to the party long day. I also have this manual and two things stand out clearly and the first one is on page 183 of the manual: This is the trouble shooting for the ignition system and top right corner gives it away on the no spark. Alternator is out of work, add that and the fact earlier the poster said it would run without a battery = Ac type CDI. The one member mentioned the Harley running on a dead battery or no battery, entirely different system. First of all on a scooters wiring and this one is no different without a battery the black wire going to this CDI clearly gets it's voltage from the battery and with no battery or a dead one it has no power and remember he said it would run with the battery disconnected. Now if you go back to the charging system you'll find the simple 4-pin R/R with the headlights running off of the yellow wire, and the red running to the battery for one purpose, charging the battery. Remove the battery and the 12Vdc loop is broken and the black wire will have no voltage. If you read in the ignition system section you will see that this scooter has and advanced ignition CDI. I'm trying to find it but if I remember correctly some advanced CDI's have a 12volt dc power source for advancing the timing thus the black 12Vdc feed wire? Another thing to note I have failed to find a Dc type CDI on a single phase stator system and this is just that. All DC type CDI's I've seen are on a 3 phase stator system. If I was a betting man I'd bet you can disconnect the black wire and it'll run but if you really bear down on it'll stumble with the time advance powerless. JR

I had a member the other day ask me about the Proboards Apps thing with his phone and I just got a answer from them and this is the problem:
I have noticed that the app does not seem to be loading some v4 forums properly at the moment, seems to be an issue mostly over 3G. I'll be doing some tests and will bring the findings up to our developers to look into further.
So they are working on it and hopefully for those of you that are having trouble it'll get better.
