Well, Here I am again griping about having to do another valve adjustment almost every oil change. "BUT" The good news is the Michilin Pilot sport tire I put on the rear of this JCL 250 to replace that *** 2000 mile wonder that the factory installed has already doubled the mileage (documented) that I got out of said *** stock tire. And it looks like its only half life at most and still has plenty of tread left. And it only cost me $61 TMD. Only about $20 or less more than a cheap one. As big a pain as these things are to install a rear tire on I'll pay that $20 extra any day man. So I can go that much further before screwing with the back tire again. And getting more than twice the mileage value. Heck, this is a no brainer. ;D

Right Doug, Mostly maketing I bet. Should make them just a little more oomphy for pulling a little more weight at 276ccs.

Japan is in east Asia, And no, I'm sure Kaw isn't in love with all this Chinese two wheeled action. No matter how you cut it it can't be good for the big 4

Yes , I am talking about a kit with a larger cylinder, piston and rings for the Linhia 257cc powerplant. It really doesn't make the motor that much bigger. 18ccs of displacement, same stroke even I think, And most of all same head. If the head isn't any bigger and flow more it probably Doesn't make any noticeable extra HP. . Or maybe there is a noticalbe gain ?

I use Castrol 20/50 fossil in our Long Hot summers here in north central FL. and 10/40 in our winters that can be as cold as the great lake states here. "BUT" Being as it is there is no oil filter to speak of in a Linhia 257cc I change it every 1200-1500 miles. Its never dirty and always has good viscosity. These are the only important points to the lubrication system besides temp.

That's the exact JCL/Jonway (Linhia powered) scooter I'm looking for here in FL. . Same color , same price , same rebuild. I want to put a 300 (275cc) kit on it. My girlfriend has a JCL exactly like it color and all and it is one nice scooter for a Chinese Jobby. Great find and good luck.

Well, Shes (the girlfriend) is putting miles a day now with no problems (knock on wood) since the makeshift exhaust valve adjustment.

Thanks for the headsup Alley. Well, If I can find a cheap Linhia 250 that's burned up or something that's what I'll do. Make my own 300. I'm a little to big (248 lbs) I need those little extra cubes. And the 250 mileage should still be there.

Man ! I didn't expect this much response. I saw that PA and Cal. doesn't let any Vin #s that start with "L" get titled for road use anymore. And FL. wants to get into this oppressive Dipshitism with them the guy at Killer told me ( I called them about it). The vin thing came off the net, The carb issue I heard at Killer. PS My girlfriends JCL MP250As MSO (vin) starts with L. And as far as scooter sales in FL. , Yea, we have a ton of 50ccs and 150s . I'm talking about scooters you can do anything with not a vehicle to go two blocks to get a soda pop with. Those don't threaten the big four, (Sus, Kaw, Yam, Hon). You hardly ever see a larger displacement Chinese scooter on the road here. I do see them selling on craigslist once in a while selling cheap with no FL. title may I add.

I havn't heard of anybody putting the 275 or so cc cylinder kits on their 257cc Linhia powered scoots. Doe's anybody know of any threads on this subject matter ? Such as any noticeable performance gains and such ?
