No I don't. I was going to start doing that. But the Gel batteries don't like Float chargers and such I've been told. ?

Dr Pulley Sliders matching the stock weight or 1 ounce lighter is usually all thats needed. Dr Pulley will confirm the recommended size and weight if you email them. Before you start tossing hundreds on other mods you may find the $25 invested in the sliders may be all you'll need. Sounds good Rocky. Any idea where I could get Dr. Pulley's email address ?

What do you mean by compatible with more displacement ? I wish I could afford a $500 upgrade if that's what you mean. A 295 cc with a little more cam and slightly larger carb would be all the scoot I need from here on out. A Herculean effort to pay for and build but a of a scoot it would be. Maybe this carb I'm getting and a set of Dr. Pulley sliders will have to be about it right now.

I went ahead and sprung for the 32mm Performance carburetor with a 125 main jet (stock is 30 mm with a 110 Main jet). Usually more fuel doesn't improve top end in my experience. If it improves anything it usually improves acceleration. But sometimes it does give you a little of top end. Being an easy mod I am trying it first. Wasn't cheap though. Ever pay $100 for a Chinese carburetor ! Crymany ! The thing probably cost them $ 4 to make. lol I am going to try to run my stock air cleaner and exhaust. I have gotten very little gains from these mods in the past unless going extreme high performance. Mainly because these mods. make the bike to Fing noisy for little if no real gain.

Do you have larger scooter parts, Like for 257 cc + Linhai scooters ?

My first thoughts were "fuel" , Then valve adjustment as said. And they (the valves) can drive you nuts on this 260 Linhia I have. Depending on how hot or cold the weather or engine is as stated. I know yours is a 150 . But much of this scooter HooRah is universal. Vac line to fuel pump I presume ?

Yea tortoise, I only need 5 mph on top. everything else is satisfactory with this lighter than 400cc scoot. If I needed 10 mph I would see it your way. I can probably do 5 with no more than $200 I hope. A lot cheaper than switching scoots. And again I like the lighter scooter than the big maxi's.

I forgot to say this though. If I were to buy it it would have to be at a better price than what hes asking . The rule of thumb is, You either go through the pain of getting something running yourself if you are the seller "OR" take a sound beating on it. Its the high price of being lazy

I live down here within striking distance of this scooter too. And the same thing was going through my head too. But, lets see here. If its got oil in the crankcase " with no milkyness to it", And had whats left of an antifreeze mix in the cooling system this whole time ( stops or slows down corrosion ) . And he has not blown the motor up before he parked it (bring battery or jumpercables and at least crank it over and over) . If it does that it probably hasn't thrown a rod or anything like that. In this case a fuel system cleaning and maint would probably get it running. No ?

I am at a loss here myself. Any possibility that crosses my mind has been stated already.

I was told the quickest and one of the easier ways to get quicker acceleration and / or a bit more top end is to modify the variator on a scooter CVT. I myself am plenty satisfied with my acceleration. Even with my 260 lbs. 6 '2 self. But I would like a wee bit more top end. The only aftermarket variator I could find for a 257cc (260) Linhia engine was a Doctor Pulley Linhia " ATV " variator on Ebay. Now I know the Starter clutch for a 260 Linhai "ATV" has more spline teeth than a the Scooter 260 . I wonder if the variator has differences also ? And could I eeeak 5 more MPH with a variator and slider modification even so ? Any feed back fellow Scoots ? btw I go 63-67 mph now per scooter speedo. PS I've decided to go for a 32mm Performance carburetor instead of my stock 30 mm. And some Dr. Pulley sliders instead. Waiting on the 32 carb now. Haven't orders the sliders yet. One thing at a time I say.
