They did not pay for the certifications to proove complience and sell in this state? Too much local competiton? There are plenty of Brick and Mortor stores to purchase from locally.

Not to mention that Florida has the most scooter dealers in the USA. (So I doubt Chinese scoot sales will be stopping any time soon,.... too much tax revenue to lose )

Order somewhere else. Superiorpowersports, or happy scooter, or scooter depot or something.

Or buy from one of the numerous local guys...?? Great call. There are a bunch of shops here in NE Florida that have the same scoots in stock that you'll find on the net at the same prices. Add the support and its better than a drop shipped bike.

Add to that the big name brand dealers that have specials on bulk purchases of Piaggio/Aprilia bikes that they sell for just a few hundred dollars more than the Chinese scooters and it just keeps getting better.

Man ! I didn't expect this much response. I saw that PA and Cal. doesn't let any Vin #s that start with "L" get titled for road use anymore. And FL. wants to get into this oppressive Dipshitism with them the guy at Killer told me ( I called them about it). The vin thing came off the net, The carb issue I heard at Killer. PS My girlfriends JCL MP250As MSO (vin) starts with L. And as far as scooter sales in FL. , Yea, we have a ton of 50ccs and 150s . I'm talking about scooters you can do anything with not a vehicle to go two blocks to get a soda pop with. Those don't threaten the big four, (Sus, Kaw, Yam, Hon). You hardly ever see a larger displacement Chinese scooter on the road here. I do see them selling on craigslist once in a while selling cheap with no FL. title may I add.

I don't think it is the big 4 being threatened. The big 4 in scooters is not the ones you listed either. Kawasaki doesn't even make a scooter. The big 4 in scooters are all Asian companies and I think at least in production runs none of the Japanese manufactures get close. I think the issue with larger displacement scooters from SOME, not all, Chinese manufactures is the inconsistency in production causing EPA and safety issues. There was a recent topic on here and we see it a lot on the forums, but some Chinese manufacturers won't even pay the pennies it costs to balance a front wheel. That is cost savings that could potentially kill an inexperienced rider. Not cool! I am for higher standards that keep people safe. It would not add much to ask them to take some basic safety measures... I am for higher standards that promote economical machines that do not harm the environment... Who wouldn't be??

I know about registration problems in PA, but where did you hear about the same thing happening in CA?

I read here or somewhere that a lot of the chinese scoots of all sizes, don't pass, aren't CARB certified in Caif. The trike I just bought, from a dist in Calif, can't sell em in Calif. But, the rest of the US should not be judged by Calif standards. www.powersportsmax.com/product_info.php/cPath/38/products_id/15794I just picked this site at random Close to the bottom of this add, they talk about C.A.R.B. certification and not being legal to sell in Calif, and they don't sell in Fla. They do have a list of legal bikes for Calif. Seems like we got troubles in River City

a few years ago the online scooter sites wouldn't ship to Wisconsin.
I nearly had to go home and bring back my Znen to the DMV to get it registered, but they used the pics in had on my phone to approve the Chinese scooter. I took pics of the serial number plate and the federal plate and whatever else, so it was no problem. The Znen had previously been registered in FL.
I saw a post on Facebook yesterday from MRP that asked if anyone knew what was happening with Jonway and another scooter brand I don't recall. MRP said the phone numbers were no longer working for either (USA) office.
