I got a 9bs batt and I took a torch and melted the plastic where the battery sits to make it longer my scoot could only fit a 7bs and I was able to fit a 9in it you could really take the whole box out and make a big one for an even bigger battery as long as is not to big, before the 11 pole conversion I was going to run 2 batteries with an isolator and make a box under the scoot to fit everything down there but I thought it would cover the air that comes through there for the engine just something else you can think about

Ok so I looked at this kit before and I was going to buy it but I started looking at some diagrams and it was way cheaper to get the 11 pole stator with a rectifier and I made my own harness, after I did that I run led all around but my headlights are 35w each led with ballast just like hids, I run Efi, wide band, and a radio and I don't ever have to charge my battery

To tell you the truth I was able to hit over 67 mph with the carb but it took a really long road and some down hill to get there, now with the efi I get to 60 with non problem at all.
I was thinking in using an exhaust adapter for it but I am not sure here I want to put the filter info like it where it sits stock so that was what I was thinking on doing, I was thinking on using a PVC pipe, you know the elbow for the sinks the have a nice U on them and I could use tuber to get it connected to the exhaust adapter an the filter should just go on the adapter, about the size I believe the throttle is 27mm an the filter is 2 3/4 minimum size it has the rubber prizes to make it bigger if you remove them, I was thinking about PVC because I could get a nice hole in it for the air temperature sensor. And it won't get supper hot like metal would or at least steal.

It could be a lot of things making the misfire you need to have compression air and fuel and spark so the bike can run, bad gas and clogged fuel filter or carb makes you have little or no fuel, clogged air filter no air bad ignition coil makes the bike do exactly what you described, If I had to I woul bet on the coil reace the coil and see what happens I have seen all of the above before but your problem I had it twice wih my taotao

All good just at work everyday, I need to get more air into my intake, I was thinking on making my own intake but I'm no sure where I can get an adapter to go from the size of the throttle body to the size of the intake, I checked pepboys of course and I checked Home Depot no luck so far

Hello, Sorry I have not gotten back to you I have been super busy, But I still find time to work on my scoot, Yes thats the Kit I have installed, About the sensor I can take pictures if you like but its really just like any o2 sensor you have to welded about 6 to a foot away from the head mine is right before the bend to the side of the bike, so you can see it, I welded it on a 45 degree angle towards the front, you have to welded on the top of the exhaust but not to high and defiantly not to low.
The Program works on windows 7, I had an issue with my lap top not being able to open it for what ever reason, but I have been using another lap top and my desk top when I dont have a lap top and they both have WIN7 and it works fine, also you mentioned the tablet blu-tooth thing, I have that as well but you can only read and log Data you can not burn to the ECU or change any parameters with it, I have the Wide band O2 Sensor and Its running great, the only thing I Have found is that the Gauge on the lap top does not match my gauge, and I have tried to get Ecotrons to help me with this or at least open the Lambda sensor options but they keep telling me I have to do a bunch of stuff first, Wish I dont understand because everything is running perfect except that, What I did was instead of tuning for 1 lambda I tune for 1.4, and that seems to bring it to what 1 Lambda should be. I was able to get my bike over 70 MPH's and I have a stock block in my bike, with a stock intake, I do Have a high performance filter from Edelbrock, but the stock hose, and I have other things like transmission parts, rear diff gears and intake manifold along with others, If you do get it let me know and I can defiantly help you with it, it is not going to be as easy as it seems, the installation is very very simple but you have to run 11 pole stator if you want it to run and be able to add the wideband.
I would really sugest getting into the project, It has been alot of fun for me, alot of headaches but a good learning experience, when you run the ignition part of the kit they tend to kill coils, I went through 2 coils and I decided to just install a MSD coil in it with a nice wire and problem solved. let me know if you have any other questions

Hello Everyone, I am wondering about this erratic voltage I got going on on my scooter, I am not sure what the problem is and I was wondering If there was a way to stabilize the voltage to a certain Voltage, so it doesn't go up and down like its being doing, I did change the stator to a 11 pole, and ever since I changed it I never had to charge the battery, also I got plenty of current to run the EFI Kit. Does anyone know what I could do to fix this or any suggestions about this thank you

I have tried all types of coils and all the colors, the best so far that I have had and that I still have on my scoot is an MSD blaster SS part# 8207 with a accel wire Part # 170500R,it will make a world of difference on your scoot, the only one I was going to try but I never did was the NCY coil on plug, But I doubt is better than the MSD blaster ss coil, For CDI I would suggest the NCY A/C because your taotao should be A/C, thats what mine had a/c CDI.

Hello Everyone, As some of you know from some post before I successfully made my scoot EFI Thanks to Matt and the Ecotrons team, I have read the EFI tuning guide a billion times, and I now have decided to go with a wide band O2 Sensor, My goal is to run well over 70 MPH with a stock engine, and get Over 120MPG the only upgrades are going to be out side the engine but all internals are stock, The Ecotrons kit comes with a switch that is ECO mode and Rich Mode, In which I can tune separately, Right now my best has been 62.1 MPH and 105 MPG, I have been trying a lot of different things and I thought I would post some of the upgrades I have done Just if anyone is interested in having a 150 saving gas like a 50cc but faster than a regular 150cc.
So when I first installed My EFI the scoot would not run at all, the actual install of the EFI was about 2 Hours, counting the O2 bung, (I have my own welder), I spent over a month trying to figure out what was wrong, I even thought of going back to carb, But I didn't give up, I spent way to much money on it to just give up on it. I checked my spark a few times but I can only check with no load, the bike would Idle and then shut off, I had it idling finally and I started working on it trying to figure out what the heck was wrong as soon as you accelerate it would hesitate and bug down, I happened to touch the frame and I got a nice shock from it, so I took the coil off and there it was, There is a little edge on the back side of the coil that goes into a notch on the coil mount on the scoot, SO you always put it the right way, I always use a Makita to tighten up everything so the Makita broke that tiny piece, and the spark was coming out of there. I installed the Stock coil( I had the Orange coil) and the bike ran freaking awesome.
A few days ago my bike started having the same problem again, so right away I thought of the coil, I was going to order a new one but I feel like replacing 2 coils within a year was a bit to much, so I decided to look for other options, I Installed a MSD Blaster SS coil Part#8207 Pepboys has it in stock, with an Accel Wire, The wire gets cut to the length you need, Part# 170500R, Pepboys has it in stock, well the bike has never ran better, it takes off super nice and there is no dead spots, when the EFI starts advancing timing it just goes. I was not able to test the top Speed But I will try it tomorrow, I have a feeling that I am going to get some great results, and also I want to find out how my gas mileage is doing.
Here are all the upgrade I have done, I have tried a lot of different set ups different parts with different results and this has been the best acceleration to top end results, I am going to List them from the best upgrade to the ones that didn't really do much,
1- EFI KIT Throttle Response, Better acceleration, top end and MPG. 2- MSD ignition coil w/ Accel cable Helps the computer advance timing with out any hesitation or dead spots 3- 11 Pole Stator, The EFI has enough power, I haven't charged my battery since, and I run 55W LEDs 4- 116mm variator face plate,( I am running the stock variator) The belt runs all the way to the top of the variator, Lower first gear 5- 2.56 Rear gear ratio, Helped on top end and MPG when cruising. 6-Clutch Main Spring, Holds the lower gear and it helps a lot on re- acceleration 7- Edelbrock air Filter. I am still using the stock Hose but with the EFI Kit I needed more air, and the scoot finally woke up. 8- Exhaust- I am using the stock exhaust but I opened it and took out one of the chambers so the exhaus could pretty much come right out with out being way to loud (My intake is louder than the exhaust. 9-Tap on the left side of the tank. I have outlets on both sides of the tank so when I am low on gas and I am taking turns, no air gets into the lines. 10-Michelin SC Rear tire (reinforced) The tire is one size bigger than stock and I can take turns and not feel swirly at all.
If anyone has any questions please let me know, I will be posting my results soon and also, once I get the Wide band Installed I will post the results as well.

I checked the voltage on it and it gave me a regular 6V on the white wire, on that diagram there is the black wire I was talking about the regulator I got does not have that wire on it, also it has a red wire instead of a pink like the picture shows.

Hello Billie, I have a 2012 Taotao evo 150 I never had that happened to me, the only thing that used to happened was, when ever I filled up the gas tank if I put to much gas in it, it would stall every time I would slow down and come to a stop, there is a vacuum line on top of the gas tank, that is for Hydrocarbons emissions, that line is vacuum to remove all the Hydrocarbons that the fuel makes and outs them inside the engine to be burnt, If you over fill the gas tank it will start taking raw fuel and then the engine would be too rich and stall, now what your bike is doing doesn't sound like this is the problem, To me it sounds like the bike is over heating and stalling because of that and once it cools down it turns back on, pretty much what Paul said about the valves opening when they are hot, If you are getting that hot it maybe running lean and you need to tune it.
Finding the tuning screw: If you look at the carburetor on the left side,, there is a big copper cap, right underneath there is a small copper plug that is covering the tuning screw, there is alot of ways you can remove this and they all seem very hard, the way I removed mine was, I took a long flat head screw driver, I put the flat head on the aluminum covering the copper plug, only about an 1/8 of the screw driver is touching the alumni and very gently tap on the top of the screw driver, it will start digging into the aluminum until it reaches the plug and it will pop out once you reach it, (there is nothing wrong with making that grove on the carburetor it will not damage anything, its only a very small grove) Let me know if you need anything else, you can find the how to tune the carburetor on this forum or just Goggle it and it will come up, If you cant find a way let me know and I will explain it to you. have fun

you cant use anything but a head gasket, the compression on the cylinder would blow anything you put on it right out, have you removed your spark plug lately? make sure is tight, also check the valve adjustment, if the adjustment is too tight it can leave the valves open, my engine usually runs about to Degrees F
