Why? What's the advantage?

It is setup for scooter with AC CDI and is truly plug'n play for scooters of this variety. It even has the feed for the enricher. 


Some of these scooters, even though the lights are 12VDC, the lights themselves don't care if it's AC or DC and in order to gain a little extra power, the lights get AC power.  


Now I'll try to explain this without being rude.... Stators produce AC, that AC is converted to DC by the R/R... Here's where it gets tricky.. Some scoot manufacturers take power from the AC for lights, some use DC for the lights...


Now, depending upon the amount of power the stator produces and how the R/R is configured, if you use a system that's configured for DC and put it on an AC CDI/lights/choke scoot, you'll tax the out of your R/R and likely burn it up. and vice'versa...

In short, you have X amount of available power of coming from the AC of the stator, and Y amount coming from the DC side... Over tax either, and you'll burn up said component.

In the case of this particular stator is doesn't matter ONLY because it has enough power for most scooter applications running from the AC or DC power output of this setup....

When Bashan chimed in, he seemed rather confrontational and I'm not on here to argue with anyone. He seems like a pretty a cool guy and rather than get in a pissing match, I thought I would "just let it ride"...

But the reason I didn't post this link in that thread was specifically to avoid affronting anyone who was offering a similar product. BTW, BuggyDepot offers the adapter cables free with purchase, do you?

Ah ha!  Got it.

Had a similar problem when i removed the absurd little 35W Chinese bulb in the single headlight of my scooter and put in a 60/55W H4 bult.  The stator couldn't keep up and voltage dropped into the 12v range (had to slap on a charger once ever week or 2)

Solved the problem easily.  Inside the headlight reflector was a second hole for a tiny "blade connector" bulb that put out just enough light for the headlight to glow a bit ... kind of the Chinese version of a Halo ring.

Removed that bulb, drilled the hole a little bigger and put in one of these 68-LED bulbs:

(cost a whopping $6 including shipping) and added a rocker switch to turn the H4 low beam on or off (it's normally always on).  The LED bulb - always on - uses almost no juice and gives a very nice headlight beam ..... about what the crappy 35W Chinese bulb put out.  So I use that during the day for a "headlight" and at night use the H4 bulb --- since most riding is during the day this means there isn't ever a drop in voltage below 13.5 or 14.

No, I just ordered it last night....  I was looking at .00 shipped with the harness or $125.00 (plus S&H)  from you... Had I known you were going to be running your sale (which comes to right about $.00 as well) I probably would've ordered from you based on the recommendations of these scooter boards about you as an honest seller.. Actually, I think I may have purchased from you before on ebay... Do you recall selling a few lots of scooter parts in a combo package to ronsauctionstuff? Over half the order was NCY stuff.

BTW, what's your good reason why you don't carry the harness?

Just recently someone asked if they the 11 poles come in AC or DC . I answered something to the effect of " from what I know most if not all are DC " . I've heard of many switching to an 11 pole stator and not being able to get it to work properly " even after trying different RR's" . I heard the 11 pole stators where ment to be used with DC powered lights. And I have also heard that the scoots harness also played a role in wether it would work or not . i do want to apologize for the answer I gave , when I said the stator was DC I should have said from what know they are used on scoots with DC headlights. All i know who use an 11 pole had to switch to Dc lights to avoid any electrical issues.

I thought i'd do a search to see if I could find a cheap matching regulator/rectifier.... $15.00 Shipped

Now, it's from China which means it will take a minute to arrive, but the other one is from Puerto Rico so that might take a minute too... But, the two would only be $48.00 to the door! Granted, you wouldn't be getting the adapter harness, but if you're doing this on the lowest budget possible, you could just splice and dice your own wires on the cheap..... Most people have extra wire laying around or can get it free somewhere... If not, Maybe $5.00 in wire if you do not care about color coding....
