I'm mainly a motorcycle guy from way back, but I got into scooters many years ago after moving to the city (Las Vegas). I started out with a Derbi 2stroke 50cc. With modifications, I could do 60 mph with that thing. Derbi is no longer supported, and I sold it to a college kid that just had to have it. I then got into a TGB Laser 150. With modification, because I can't leave anything alone, I got it to do 80mph using our ScrappyDog head and other parts. The TGB was ran ragged, and I was always breaking things on it. It's Taiwanese made quality, but running a scooter full throttle all the time is going to take it's toll no matter what. I was looking for a Vespa GT300, but instead ran into a Piaggio X9 last year. It's a 500cc single, and fits my large frame well, is quiet, powerful, and reliable. It will do about 110mph, so it is just cruising at freeway speeds on 14" wheels. The Piaggio is great, but if you need parts, it will cost you big time. The belt is nearly 200 bucks. We sell chinese belts as low as 10 bucks. Big difference, but to each his own, and it's what you're looking for that matters. No one scooter, or vehicle is right for everyone. Scoots are almost like women, after the first ride, you either like them or not...or is it love at first sight? Rick

Shipping will be fast and cheap as usual. We still ship out of the USPS southwest air hub based here in Las Vegas.

hello everyone. After 4 1/2 years of being in the same location, ScrappyDog is moving to a new location. Our new address is: ScrappyDogScooters.com 3111 S. Valley View Blvd. Suite V-104 Las Vegas, NV 89102
We've got more room and a better layout. If you are local, be sure and visit us after September 17th, 2013. If you are corresponding or sending us packages, be sure and send to our new address.
The larger location will allow us to keep a larger stock in an effort to reduce and eliminate backorders and being out of stock, which is frustrating for all.

strokers arrive in the morning. I believe alot of them are already pre-purchased. call or email directly to the office if you'd like to catch one.

ok, this is Rick, and I've not been on in a short while and just saw all this grapevine. Not sure where to start, and if anyone knows me personally will know that while i will give you the world and am a very nice guy, i do get beligerent when I'm personally attacked our any of my companies are even suggested as being deceptive. I'm not directly involved in SDS operations, so you will never get me on the phone, nor will you have me answer any of the emails you send to SDS. I have some very good employees who are much better at customer relations than me. I own several companies, and am an educated mechanical engineer holding several patents. Getting past me personally, and attending to this matter, everyone should know that no one, either me, SDS and it's employees, it's customers, etc, want a delay in shipment. It's very annoying to everyone involved. The gals in the office do there best to deal with a bad situation, and are instructed to refund anyone immediately if they request it. This last container was supposed to arrive the first week of April. It left late because of tire and engine regulations new at the Ningbo China port. Upon arriving finally, the great Dept. of Homeland Security decided to choose this container for "security inspection". Security is high since 9/11, and this new tension between us and china related to the theft of military secrets by the chinese government is making it very bad at this point. The container waited in line behind hundreds of other containers going through one wharehouse to be completely unloaded, boxes opened, inspected and compared, and reloads. I was then charged an exorbitant amount on top of import duties for this all to be done. in the meantime, our inventory was getting depleted, and actually another container is already on the way. It was just realeased today and will move over to the release wharehouse to be shipped up to us in Las Vegas, which is a half day trip. It will then be unloaded and stocked. Parts from backorders will be picked and shipped even before stock to expedite. It's a nightmare situation, but we're willing to do this because that's what we do and are in this business because we all love the scooter industry and do our best to keep it stocked with quality parts at a very reasonable cost. If anyone has any questions, or needs to cancel an order, be sure and contact service@scrappydogscooters.com . Shelly is very competant and helpful.

[replyingto=larry001964]larry001964[/replyingto]I'm not sure where Hoca is made. These are ScrappyDog cranks made by contract in Taiwan. We've considered having a separate "brand name" for the parts we have made to our specs.

Our cranks are of better quality than so called "stock" cranks. Made at the QJ factory for NA market level. There are many levels of quality in parts for chinese scooters, and hundreds of different factories that make the 139qmb, so the word "stock" isn't as relative as if you were buying from another country that did not operate with a socialist/communist background. You are right, we are going to start stocking the 22T cranks and labeling them as type one and type two. The stroker crank is of Taiwanese manufacture. Very good quality.

I wasn't aware we had a quality problem with our cranks that we stock? We occasionally get a request for 22 tooth sprocket cranks, but they are very rare, and we send them on special request from our NingBo warehouse. The stroker crank will require the same modification that any stroker crank for any engine will require, which is that you'll have to raise the cylinder to a height half of the added stroke. I'd recommend having a professional install it if you're not sure of what to do.

ScrappydogScooters.com is adding 44mm stroker cranks to their already long list of parts available for chinese scooters and motorcycles. These fit the 139qmb 49cc 4stroke chinese standard scooter engine. We'll also be adding several other items. The container that has them was delayed in customers about a week. but are expected to arrive on tuesday, which will also fill those backorders. Price is only 149. ! Supply is limited on these this load, so if you'd like to secure your order, call 702-689-6035. We'll be adding them to our website in the next week or two, but they may be gone by then...not sure.
